Suggestions what to download into Kindle

My hubby bought me a Kindle for my birthday and my son gave me a gift certificate of $100.00 at Amazon.com.

I'm burning a hole in my pocket and was wondering if you all can suggest some books to download. Something that you simply couldn't put down, and would re-read again in a heartbeat.

I love (not necessarily in this order) mystery, romance, adventure, fantasy...I downloaded a few that I couldn't resist, but still need help in getting my money's worth.

Would really appreciate it.

I loved The Help and The Art of Racing in the Rain. I'm told you need to be an animal person to enjoy the second one, but I know you are so I think you would like it.

One that I am reading right now is "Cutting for Stone" One of my all time favorites is "Wish you well" by David Baldacci but I don´t know if it is available for Kindle. Also, there are TONS of free book downloads, and soon you will be able to download from libraries, so you might want to hang on to the money for a while;) Oh, and there are games: monopoly, soduko, scrabble...

What do you know about downloading from the library on Kindle??? I bought my mom a Kindle last year that she hasn't used because she prefers the free library books. SO, I bought her a Nook for mother's day this year (because you can download from the library with a Nook). But, if Kindle is going to be library compatible soon, maybe I need a new Mother's Day gift ?????

As far as I know you cannot download library books to a Kindle. My DH has the Kindle, and I have a Nook. Before buying the Nook, I had an e-mail exchange with the library and they told me that Amazon does not want to allow library downloads. They only have a contract type arrangement with B&N for the Nook. You can, however download library books to an iPod or iPad, I have done that, but the Nook is much better! I love it. Your Mom will be thrilled!
 
The Help by Kathryn Stockett, excellent choice.

Also, Signs of Life by Nathalie Taylor. (memoir of losing her husband of just one year and half of marriage, while pregnant with first baby. Seems like it would be a real downer but this woman has so much spirit. her book is downright hilarious. She is an English teacher at High School. if you are someone who reads in order to understand the world we live in and the nature oif humanity, you will love Nathalie Taylor.)

I'd Know You Anywhere by Laura Lippman (stand alone mystery.drama by the author of the Tess Monaghan PI series set in Boston. Great author. Excellent read)

The Lincoln lawyer by Michael Connelly (forget the film with Mathew MaConnaughey, he is soooooooo wrong for this part. Micky haller is a great character and a nice break from Connelly's Harry Bosch detective in LA books. Micky haller is not blond, not tall, not particularly handsome, but he is wily.)

Any of the Prey series by John Sandford. Although these are way better read as books on CD by Richard Ferrone. Once you've heard him as Lucas Davenport, there is no stopping you plowing your way through the rest of the series......

Enough to be getting on with.
