Suggestions for quick no DVD leg work

Hi Ladies:

I don't always have time to get in as much leg specific work as I would like, so am thinking about squeezing in 15 to 20 minutes on off days to help tone them up. Not sure if it will help, but I figure it can't hurt. Something without putting in a DVD or using weights that I could do while my husband is watching TV or in between errands, etc. Maybe some kind of floor work? Was thinking I could do something standing with a stool/chair like repeating some Turbo Barre moves. Or, perhaps just use a mat and do some hydrants, etc. Just curious if anyone has any other suggestions.

Thanks!

I just put together a leg workout for my sister yesterday although she used weights. You can used any leg exercise you want. Change the number of reps and rounds.

4 Rounds
12 Squats
12 Step ups (12 each leg)
12 Static Lunges (12 each leg)
12 Side Squats (12 each leg)
12 Sumo Squats

Butt Bible is on youtube and it's extremely effective! L1 is only 20min and uses NO equipment:

The Butt Bible Lower Level 1 - YouTube

You could probably write down beforehand all the exercises & reps while viewing it, then you have a quick list handy and off you go! WARNING: DOMS to follow

First and foremost, thank you for posting this link.

No offense to anyone, but that lady is a hoot! "Bad azz attitude...make love to the butt...etc" I definitely dig her style. If she made a butt DVD, I would buy it. :D She does a very solid workout, complete w/a stretch, and her personality is entertaining.

I noticed that she made a ButtBible2, as well. Have to check that one out

I do intend to try this workout because it looks effective.

Pauline Nordine has a bunch of w/o's on youtube: Butt Bible L1, 2, 3 and Upper Level 1, 2, 3. A friend from my check-in here bought her DVD's (which contain all these workouts) from Collage Video.

BTW, I have to say that L3 gave me severe DOMS for days . I have not done these workouts consistently enough to see specific results, but I AM SURE they would prove effective.

Good luck!

She is hilarious! I love how she loves her butt! She is obsessed with her butt! She is focused on her butt! She works her butt! She must have said "butt" at least 50 times. It's all about her butt! She has a great butt! (in case you didn't know) "You can have a nice butt like mine!" she says :D

Couldn't find her DVDs, unfortunately.

Even though she loves her butt and worked hard for it, she is generous enough to show everyone else how to make their butt fantastic (for free!). Gotta respect that. She's the Ambassador of Butts!

I bet she's a lot of fun in person. I don't know how those ladies working out w/her kept their composure.

Amazon.com: The Butt Bible (3 Disc Set): Pauline Nordine, ExerciseTV, ExerciseTV & Dragonfly Productions: Movies & TV

Here you go! Wrong website I mentioned before .

The Butt Bible 2 is a downloadable PDF.
It has pictures of the exercises with instructions on how to do them. Pauline also lists various workouts to follow that use the exercises. She also has an ebook called Butt Bible which I have not read.

She does not have plans to make another Butt Bible DVD, or so I was told when I posted the question on her FB page.

The PDF and Ebook are available on her website FighterDiet.com for around $26 but I did not see her Butt Bible DVD on her products page :confused:but as Natasha said it is on Amazon.

She is a riot and definitely obsessed with the butt :D

AnneMA - sorry, I forgot to mention some exercises; glute squeezes and the glute bridge, especially 1-legged hip lifts. Those, among others, are on the BB DVD.

This looks like a great lower body workout that you can use anytime, travelling etc. I put the link to it on my iPad....

Since we are talking about great youtube workouts here, I thought I would mention Chris Freytag. I did her cardio kickbox not long ago 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme - Cardio Kickbox - YouTube and was seriously impressed! Lo and behold, I saw her workouts being sold on Collage Video shortly thereafter. She IS awesome.
Here is a great LB workout from hers: Exercise TV 10 lb Slimdown Lower Body - YouTube. The concept is similar to Plyo Legs or Cardio Leg Blast, as it alternates between cardio drills + weighted leg work. I added about 15min of this routine to my LB floor work today and found it very challenging and sweat inducing . Next time I will do the whole 50min.

Take care ladies!

(oh and I agree about Pauline. She definitely loves her butt! She DOES have a fabulous one ;))

Well I did the Butt Bible workout this morning after X-train Chest, Back & Shoulders timesaver pre-mix and I am very afraid of what my butt is going to feel like tomorrow..

For all of Pauline's stuff, go to www.fighterdiet.com.
She's more than a hoot, she is CRAZY instense. There is zero room for error or mistake with her. She's also a little over the top for me. Like when she thought she was packing on too much muscle, she did cardio for 3 hours a day to burn it off. 3 hours a day! I also have her butt bible dvd, and love it. I highly recommend her fighter diet greens ----> AWESOME! Some of her other tips that I've started are also more dietary: I drink vinegar before every meal, and my favorite go-to lunch is cabbage, mustard, and salmon. Love Pauline. Good choice.
