jen- we have it too. i was up all night with my tummy "off" and oddly weighed 5 pounds heavy, which i always do when i get basement issues. grrrr. feel better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Christine! Kara usually goes to bed around 730..she just cant make it past then usually. Does John sleep all night when he goes to bed earlier? Did you get your run in?

Jen-awww James! Shots suck! I know..drs are so different. I do think all babies are different though. James might be more than ready for solids. When I first fed Haley at 4 months she just spit all of it out..and did that for a month or so. Kara devoured it! Haley and I are going to make some squash baby food this week for her to start in a week or so. Hope your dh feels better and you dont get it!

got the run in but it just was not too great. I am in a rut, I guess. I tried to do a video when I got the kids down. But, my heart was not in it, so I decided to read a book instead. No poin tin struggling when I am not into it. What is my problem? Maybe because i am tired, or that the scale was not my friend. DO you ever get that way, any of you? When the scale goes in the wrong direction and you feel like giving up after so much hard work and deprivation? Grrr. I am going to go read.
 
Hi ladies, I dunno if I should post here since my week hasn't been sugarless so far....

Oh well, We just made it back from shooping. We got a Lawn mower and a vacuum cleaner that we needed and had some Chicken Salad for dinner. I will fit a workout in in about an hour. I am starting Push phase today and am really excited.

BTW, Christine, thanks for the recommendation. I think I will still workout 5 days a week but I'll add more cardio. I think I may sub Burn Intervals for one of The Terminator or Low impact circuit. I burn more calories with those. Ohh, you call your boys gremlins, how funny!
I also get discoraged when the scale moves in the wrong direction, I think I spend too much time worrying about it and it doesn't help at all, using your time for reading may be just what you need to get you back on track!

Jen, I am already dreading the Daniel's 4 month check up for the shots. Seems like James is doing great and getting stronger. Oh, Daniel is not sleeping thru the night. He wakes up usually twice, but I'm so tired to get him back to the crib that normally leave him with us. BAD BAD! I know Then he wants out of bed, he moves his little legs so fast that I have a hard time sleeping and of course, get out of bed.

Susan, wow it's been 6 months already! I can't wait to try cereal with Daniel. I tried several times to get in the habit of working out early and it quite doesn't work for me now. I'm glad it does for you, you are less likely to skip your workout that way.

Lisa, how did the check up go?? I have my annual exam next month. I need to get a mamogram as well. Well, I don't know if they do it if I'm nursing though. I wanted to ask you, when you do the P90x chest and back, do you do all those push ups or use the bands? I was watching the infomercial last night and was wondering.

Jen-aww...poor John and the shots. We space out shots, so we end up going every month until 6 mo or so..not fun!
Christine-I get the exact same way with the weight thing. I got all ticked off because I feel like my efforts are wasted...and then I go eat a bunch of chocolate chips or skip my workouts. You'd think a bad weigh in would be motivating, but it isn't for me.

Hi Priscilla and Allison!

My appt went well. I'll have an IUD put in in a couple weeks...haven't decided which one to go with. My clinic won't prescibe lactating meds, so I guess I'll just have to deal with it. She did mention beer, so I'll have to join you, Melanie. I also hate beer, so I may need to get the Blue Moon that was recommended.

I got my workout in, including the 20min run (2.25mi...I know, that's just a warm up to you guys! :) )

B- protein powder, lentil taco (ww tortilla), strawberries
L-bked sweet potato topped w spinach, green beans, lean ground beef, ff sour cream
S-unsweetened coconut flakes, orange
D-chick stir fry w brown rice, carrots
S-?? air popped popcorn?
 
Priscilla- Thank you. I get frustrated. I was doing great and in my skinny jeans and then WHAM! Today was in the wrong direction, by a lot. ANd I am sore and tired and not feeling it. I usually get giddy to workout and today I was kind of relieved not to. What is it with me? Yes, I substitute for her interval workout. I like Cathe's better, adn I also burn more calories. ANd I like the variety. Push is a great phase, adn man is it hard. That is when my triceps really popped and my shoulders. I also have better biceps than ever. Yay!
Okay, waiting for the air conditioner estimate guy to finish so I can crawl in bed with the kids. Priscilla- I am alos to tired at night to get JOhn back down. HE wakes about an hour befor ehis wake up time to eat and I just bring him in bed with me. :)
 
Lisa- Glad teh appt went well. Get Blue moon and add a slice of orange. As far as ber goes, it is great. I also like a lemon in a Corona. Not a lime. I know, weird! I am still waiting for DH to get a vasectomy, he has conveniently forgotten. ANd I am a wimp because I was holding out on nooky till he did and gave in. The old "pull and pray" method might land me in the preggo zone. SO I need to figure somethign out. Hormones make me a raging insane B*&^h. Do the IUDs have hormones still?
I have to take both kids to the dr. next week or the week after, i forget, to BOTH get shots. Noting like a 4 year old and a hemophiliac to shake that place up. I let jimmy chew gum during shots, he loves gum (sugarless) and will not cry, because if he does, the gum falls out. I am mean! His dentist told me it was great to have kids chew sugarless, if they do not swallow it, since they suck at flossing. Just had to throw that in there, to assuage my embarassment. I always said it was disgusting when I saw kids chewing gum. Now i am that mom. That is how i get him to ride in teh jogging stroller for so long. Shame on me!
Lisa- your workout sounds great! And, yes, you would think I would get all motivated. But I ache in every nook and cranny of my body, I am tired, and sick of high finer choices. I might have to just go off the reservation and eat yummy for a day. Maybe then tomorrow I will wake up and my boobs will be perky, my legs will be shaved and my scale will read 134. Hee hee. I might just ned more sleep. John gets up at 2:30 and 5:30 and wakes for the day at about 6. SO I kind of get no sleep from 2 on, since by the time I get him back to bed and asleep myself (like susan, I am not good at sleeping late night), he is up again to eat. Grrr. Then we pile in bed so I can snooze, and DH has his alarm go off at 4:30am, never hears it, and i have to go wake him up. Then backl to bed and john usually barfs in my armpit. Motherhood is so sexy. I saw a mom in heels at the store with her perfectly quiet baby and was wondering how she does it. I am proud to remember deodorant. Okay, this is not my best day! I am going to go chop stuff for a salad for dinner and will have two, not one, beers tonight. Darn it! Catch you all later!

Sorry guys but I am just not on the sugarless bandwagon when I am PMSing and stressed. Christine, I am so with you right now. I feel bloated and fat and am craving carbs and sugar and I don't care. No workout tonight. I came home to cook because it makes me feel better and DH is so sick that he cant get out of bed to bother me. My poor baby's legs hurt from his shots and he is soo tired. He's been sleeping since I picked him up from the sitter's. She said he'd been fussy too. Poor guy.... :( Probably the perfect time to workout since no one will bother me but oh well. I don't know if I will get back on the bandwagon until my house feels normal again. I will eat dinner in front of the TV and watch Dancing With The Stars and hate myself because my abs are missing. Oh and I forgot I ordered chocolate peanut butter teddy bears from sitter's kid and I have eaten three. I'm sure I will eat more and I am licking chocolate off my fingers as I type. YUM!

Sorry guys, I will bbl for personals. Or maybe not. But please don't take offense....just dont feel like thinking and needed to vent.
 
soi funny because of course both kids slept forever and i read a book and cooked and got ATTACKED by chex mix. i love dwts! i will try to watch tonight or on tivo.
i think lack of sugar turns me into the same beast as birth control pills. hmmm. sugar here. you girls have more willpower than me.

Priscilla-for P90x, I use the lat pull down on DH's weight "thingy". I can't do a pull up to save my life. I haven't tried bands, as I don't have anything to attach them to (like a ceiling rafter or something). The series is a bit back obsessed, as it's the only muscle group he works twice/week (the leg workout has back included, which makes you do back twice). I usually do some shoulders/bi/tri when he does back in the leg workout.

Christine-I buy the coconut flakes in the bulk section at a health food store. For not being sweetened, they are actually pretty good. I either nibble a little or put them into a homemade PB/nut/oat mix. Surprisingly, I walked away with only a couple things from the bulk area. There's something about all those containers where I can buy just a little of this and a little of that..makes me want to try it all! Their bulk area is huge! Oh, and I got Reese's probiotics while I was there. Thanks for the recommending it.

Gotta run...tried putting Reese down before she was in a solid sleep, and it sounds like she wants nothing of it...back to bouncing her. I don't know what I'd do without my stability ball to get her to sleep. I know, it's just a crutch...and I'll probably regret it....but I really don't see another way to handle it right now.

Lisa, I use my staiblity ball to calm girls ALL the time. Sorry your dr wouldn't prescribe reglan. I have found my milk supply increasing tremendously today. I pumped an extra time...and have been eating/taking a ton of brewer's yeast. I will try that beer that was recommended tomorrow. Blue Moon.

Allision & Christine....where did you get your Bowflex 522's? Best price I"m seeing is $499? Yup,...jen...I'm thinking of taking the spluge. I figure with the $ I saved by being given CharLean....I can justify it. ALMOST. I'm thinking as a reward for my 1/2 marathon. :D :D

Lisa-glad your appt went well. My good friend had the Mirana IUD. She just had her 2nd one put in. Only prob she had was her husband could feel the strings and she had to go get them trimmed..oter than that she likes it. Oh...can you post your lentil taco recipe??I say at Reeses age use all the crutches you need...bounce away!

gonna try to avoid sugar. I do great except for a 4 hours period 1-5 is my weak time...not today though!
Yesterday I did a lot of cooking for the week. roast in crock pot, baked chicken tenderloins, marinated chicken for fajitas, and my fav..baby back ribs are on tap for one night this week.

Ok Im ready for K to get up....both my boobies are leaking like crazy and huge! might have to express some if shes not up soon. After nursing we have to follow dh to take his truck in for oil change..exciting uh!
Cardio today..not sure waht..will decide last minute.
 
Susan, my boobies have always leaked with let down with my singleton babies. I would always hold one nipple until let down (the one drop) then let it go. I never leaked b/w feedings, just at let down. With the twins I have NEVER leaked. But with all this brewer's yeast I have a "full" feeling that I haven't had yet with the girls.

I took measurements this AM. I've lost 5 inches this past month. :D I'm so excited. Now that my weight is gone, I'm looking to make changes in total body fat & measurements.

According to my running nutrition fitness books, I am still 10-15lbs over my ideal running weight---but the suggestion is to eat like a runner (good carbohydrates during day, rich carbs before/during run, and lean protein after runs)---and let the weight naturally come off thru running. They do not promote any sort of calorie constriction whatsoever.... even pointing out that it will deplete your nrg stores and backfire during training. Sounds like me, doesn't it? I really think I need to eat more again. Since I haven't been keeping as close track to my diet...i've noticed I have only been eating 4 times/day....b/c I get so busy. On purpose eating is my goal; LOL So little time....so many goals. Story of my life!!

Christine, I"m so excited about getting the weights, especially at that price. :D Thanks for all your hardwork. I"m not in a hurry though...I won't allow myself to get them until I finish my 1/2 marathon. I need ambition...this will be a nice reward.

I have today & tomorrow off. Eager to clean up from yesterday. DH had a bad day....he had a headache & a terrible cold...so house is messier than normal.

Susan, here's the recipe
Lentil Tacos
1 onion chopped
1 clove garlic
1 tsp olive oil
1 c lentils
1 T chili powder
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
2 1/2 c water
1 c salsa (I like medium)
Saute onions and garlic in oil. Add lentils and spices. Stir and cook 1 min. Add water, cover, and boil. Reduce heat and simmer 30 min. Uncover and cook 6-8 min. Mash lentils. Add salsa and cook til hot. Serve in shells or tortillas.

I also like to use leftovers in an omelet. I've done these in the crockpot, too.
