Hi,

I was wondering which of the mesocycles you recommend. The 3 or 6 month cycle and why?

Anyone's input is also appreciated.

Thanks so much,
Ela

There are three mesocylces in total. You can complete them over 3 1/2 months or 6 1/2 months. I am going for the later. I need a bigger commitment to keep committed.

Hi Ela, all 3 mesocycles are used in both the 3 and 6 month rotations.

I'm doing the 3 month rotation, I'm too impatient to do the 6 month, and was too curious to try out each workout to prolong it for 6 months. If you are newer to weight lifting, the 6 month is advantageous as you will learn the workout the first time through, and then be able to perform it better on the second try.

Ela,
I believe it is totally personal preference but because I had not done this style of workout before I chose the 6 month. I am so glad I did. When I got started with meso 1 and there was only a 30 sec. rest everthing is going pretty fast (and although I have grown accustom to it) in the beginning it was hard to concentrate solely on the the muscle the first go around. I feel doing it a second week , I know what i s coming and I can really get down to business. I really love this style of traing and am really seeing gains in strength already so I know when I get into meso 2 it will really start coming together.

Another vote for the 61/2 month rotation

I love doing each workout twice, it helps me figure out what weights really work, because the 1Rms are not always what I can do without doing bad form, so first workout I learn the moves, play with the weights and take notes of what weights to use the second time around. Then the second time I just cruise right through it and enjoy knowing what's coming. Also, this helps me build up strenght a little slower, my body responds better to gentle and slow shock rather than quick and fast... if that makes any sense...
I'm by nature a little on the extreme side and my body does not always thank me for it, so taking it slower has been great for me!:)
