STS

Oh dear lord I cant seem to make up my mind about ordering STS. I want it because I love cathe and think her work outs are amazing. They have given me results like never before. I think she's brillant. I already have most of her dvd's. The only one'S Im missing is the old cardios like step jam and step heat. The reason why I dont want it is because do I really need it? I have such great results already. Im really happy with myself (I wish I had leaner legs but at least they work). Do I really want another 37 dvd's and more euipment? Does anyone feel like I do? Please help!

I know what you mean. For me it has been the cost of the system.

I have been thinking long and hard about purchasing STS. I even went through a mental version of Suzie Orman's "Can I Afford it". If you watch her show you'll know what I'm referring to. After praying on it, I have decided that I cannot afford it at this time. I feel good about this decision. I've cleaned up my eating and I've been more consistent with heavy weight lifting and reducing the cardio to shorter segments. I love the results I'm seeing. So for now, I'm going to stick with the Cathe collection I have and maybe purchase the Body Blast or GS collection one at a time as I can afford it.

In two years I will be completely out of debt except for the house and 51 yrs old. At that time I'll invest in STS and take my body to the next fitness level.

Hey arent you the one that said brown rice was yucky? I replied to that comment and said you should try to mix it up with some beans yummy! Anyway money is also a factor for me. $200 is alot of money and thats not including money for new equipment. Although I will be getting my tax refund next week I still cant see myself spending the money.

Yes, I was the one that started the "brown rice is yucky" thread. That's funny. I got some great ideas from everyone. I'm going to try the baked recipe and I have a rice steamer so I'm going to try using that also.

I have really been doing some soul searching on this issue. For me, I just can't get over the equipment issue. For me to lift at 70-90% of my 1 rep max, I would need to get much heavier dumbbells. I have up to 30s, but I know I would need up to 50s or maybe 60s, along with plate mates. This just kind of puts me over the edge and gets me wondering "do I really need this?" I also have plenty of muscle mass and don't really need to gain mass for health or calorie burning reasons.

On the other hand, I love Cathe and I use her workouts 90% of the time. I don't want to miss out on a great opportunity and the pre-sale price can't be beat.

I even spoke with my chiropractor, who is also a personal trainer, and he came down on the side of "someone like me," not needing the series.

With all of this said, I might still cave :p

I know exactly what you mean March 10 is only 5 days away. Only because I want to be in the loop. Especially when cathe puts up the video clips like she always does and then she'll post rotations using the sts series then I'll really feel left out!

Hi everyone who has been debating whether or not to purchase STS. I was one of you and then I caved. I made myself a deal. I sold my P90X for $100.00 on ebay to offset the cost. I've viewed P90X, but it never really clicked for me - I'd much rather be working out with Cathe. And I did the installment plan to make it easier to pay off, I'll just cut down on my expenses for the next couple of months.

I was concerned about having to purchase more dumbbells. But rationalized the purchase by telling myself that I was in fact getting 37 new dvds (even if there are premixes). But I'm getting that many new workouts. And mesocycle #1 & #2 are more endurance based and/or similar to Gym Styles (I'm thinking). Those workouts alone far exceed $210.00. I can use those workouts for more variety, and then when I'm ready to do the whole program, I can purchase heavier dumbbells. And I would have gotten STS at the best price possible.

And if in the future, I don't want it, I can probably sell it on ebay for close to the purchasing price. It was a really hard decision for me. Because I don't really really want larger, stronger muscles right now. But I did want new challenging Cathe weight workouts for variety and I didn't want to be out of the loop. And then again, at least I'll have the option to do the whole program at the best purchase price when I'm ready. You know we go through cycles, sometimes we want to do endurance based workouts and sometimes we're in the mood to do real heavy duty strength training. Sorry for the rambling...Hope my rationalizing helps someone. Edie

I caved on Friday and ordered it and I'm still not sure it was the right thing to do but...I've never followed 'rotations' or 'systems' and thought I should commit to something different and see. Also, when the boards are full of chatter about how absolutely fabulous these workouts are I know I would regret not having ordered them:) In the grand scheme the $199 felt more than reasonable even though I'm very frugal.

When 4DS preordering time came around, I ordered... then cancelled.... then ordered again... then cancelled again. Six months later I couldn't stand not having Cathe's latest so I ordered, and ended up paying more than if I had just not cancelled my preorder. But I am undecided about STS as well. I want it because I don't want to NOT have it, not necessarily because I am pumped to actually work through the whole thing. I do think the 3 payment option is terrific!

So, wonderwoman, tomorrow is that last presale day. What are you gonna do?

I am in the same boat. I swore that I wasn't getting this but over the past few days, that decision has been haunting me! What to do!?

I haven't purchased the STS yet but I know that I will whether I do it now or wait. I to, have so many of Cathe's workouts but since I hardly go to the gym anymore feel they were and still are a good investment. I was in such a rut before working out with Cathe meaning my gym routines had become boring and predictable. Now, I look forward to working out each day and discovering new premixes that I hadn't tried before. While 37 dvd's seems like alot and the money isn't cheap I still believe you can't put a price on your overall health and well being. JMO, :)

I can't seem to make up my mind either but am leaning towards no. This would be the first Cathe series that I *GULP* would not preorder... Why? It seems like a huge commitment and I am not a rotation type person. I also am not a huge fan of splits and I do have a lot of split workouts that sit on the shelf. So I am holding out for now even though I know I will feel like I am missing out if I don't preorder!!! UGH!

Oh, I truly believe that this system will be unique and everyone that is anyone will buy it. I think this will be the greatest/hottest thing in the fitness industry. I may be wrong, but IMO why wait? You'll eventually get it anyway. Besides, this will work, Cathe has never failed us before.
