STS NEW YEAR'S CHALLENGERS...WEEK OF MAY 15!

Okay-something is wrong with the STS ticker! I can't advance my w/o # past like 36! WTH? I am doing the longer rotation so my w/o# needs to be able to advance up to 72...which is used to but now all of the sudden it won't do it any more and I can't change my disc # either for some reason. :(:(:(

Anyone else using the ticker and notice this? :confused:
 
fit mommy: I have never even been able to get my STS ticker to transfer from my workout mgr. .... so I have no clue what's going on with your ticker!!!

I am sitting in Starbucks right now, because I had to get out of my house because of the Amgen bike tour...have you heard of it!!! well, it is going right by my Common today and they were going to close down the one entrance and exit to my common ...so I had to get out to be able to pick up my girls from school. The audacity!! It doesn't surprise me...this is a crazy bike town anyway...with herds of colorful bike riders monopolizing our streets any day of the week. Ha!! one just walked in now in a blue and white and pink outfit!!! There's no getting away from them:eek: (He honestly must be 65--good for him...but that outfit!!)

This morning I squeezed in STS 11. Can't believe I only have one more to go in this mesocycle.! I got Amy Bento Advanced Step 2 in the mail yesterday and I tried to just work with it a little last nite,....but I was wore out after CCC...I couldn't believe how it kicked my bootayyyy.

Tracy:: The tickers are not without issues. That's for sure! I have a weight loss ticker created but it only shows up in my PM's! :confused::confused::confused: Wow, how rude! How can they legally block both the entrance and exit to your complex if there is only one way in and one way out?? That's BS! I would be :mad::mad::mad: about that for sure! I hope you don't have to hang around that coffee shop for too long waiting to go p/u your girls!:eek: I've considered picking up an Amy Bento step dvd but I'm afraid it would frustrate me so badly that I'd never learn/use it!
 
Good evening ladies!! On our way home from the zoo. My cardio today was hours of walking... which I probably ate any calories burned :(. I'll do Swan Arms after I get home. Hope to be back tomorrow! Have a great evening!!!

autumn: hope the zoo was fun! We have a few near here. I have to be in the right mood though!!!

kiki: the fact that you can even do pull=ups is AMAZING. You are the master, I am simply the grasshopper! I am just thankful I can even do full-body pushups because I used to not be able to.

katie: hope you are good. I think your rest day is coming up and you will be done with Meso 1!!! woo hoo you did it.

posting again, because, well, DH IS gone so I decided to kick down a little over 3 miles on the TM this afternoon, then did Ab circuits weight ball. broiled steak for dinner ...!!

Yay it's hump day! You'd think i'd be less tired this week because I took yesterday off but i'm actually MORE tired. I think it's from all the cake (i.e. sugar) i've eaten this week. I think after the rest of my bday celebrations (yes, i'm still celebrating - haha) i'm going to have to try a "1 week no sugar fast" to get my addiction under control! :eek: I have a slight chocolate addiction..okay maybe a HUGE chocolate addiction. Okay fine, "My name is Katie and i'm a chocoholic." :eek:

This morning was Drill Max Scrambled Cardio Premix + CCC Abs Only + 2 extra minutes of oblique work. I was supposed to Disc 12 today, but my legs were actually sore from Intensity yesterday. :rolleyes:

Autumn: I hope you had a great time at the zoo! I LOVE the zoo and haven't been in forever. :) Did your little girl have a good time?

Wendy: Thanks so much for the information about the lifting hooks! Great info to add to my fitness repertoire. I'm sorry your ticker is acting up. :mad: Have you tried re-downloading the ticker? Maybe that will fix the problem...I agree with you 100% about struggling to stick to the dietary restrictions for fitness competitors. Diet is definitely my weak point. My DH is such a nut. NOW he's decided I should get a t-shirt made that says "Judgment Day" and wear it when I workout. Where does he come up with this stuff? :rolleyes: I hope you're enjoying your rest day!

Tracy: Wow, we are almost finished with Meso 1. That's crazy. We JUST started!! :D :eek: Maybe this is the Judgment Day coming out in me but I hope your guns are pumping and you get a chance to put on one heck of a show for your friend while on vacation! Get 'em girl! Hehehehe. :D I hate when people to try to shove their "fitness" in my face. CCC is crazy stuff isn't it? I've done that one quite a bit but it STILL gets me every time. I hope you're not having to hang out at the coffee shop to long. I can't believe they shut down the entrance to your Common - that's crazy talk!

Kiki: What kind of remodeling work do you have going on? I love reading posts on the forum from my phone but typing is tough! Enjoy those DOMS (I think...haha)! :p ETA: I completely agree with Tracy, the fact that you can do pull-ups at all is just plain freaking awesome. I'm still hanging out at the kiddie table with my band; baby steps right? :)

Hi Girls.

This morning's work out was Cardio Kicks wearing weighted gloves plus the 4th circuit from Jillian Michaels BFBM since it's core/abs focused and quick when ya don't have much time! ;)

I weighed myself this morning and I am happy to report that the party weight is gone along with an additional .2# so hopefully this means I can log a loss for my official weigh-in tmrw!:D

Katie:: Strange, I went home and was able to change the data in my ticker with no problem so who knows!? :confused: You need to go to cafe press or one of those sites and have a work out top printed with Judgement Day on it! For real! That would be great! ;) You could even incorporate Cathe into it by adding something about "The Terminator" on the shirt! :D I hear ya on the chocoholism. Been there, done that! I've personally traded that in for being a wine-o instead! LOL

Tracy:: Let me know how the Amy step learning process goes. If you are able to catch on w/o TOO MUCH of a struggle perhaps I will reconsider purchasing one her work outs.

Autumn:: My mom and a friend of hers just took my son to the zoo recently. They had fun! I love zoos too! I once wanted to work in the nursery of a zoo! Actually, I still would love to do something like that if I could! :)

Good Morning ladies!

I'm back on the PC, for a short time (of course the work isn't finished, yet, but no one is here working on it now). We're having a coffered ceiling put in our kitchen and family room. DH owns a construction company, so it will be done at his leisure, not mine, lol. This was supposed to be a slower week due to a lot of rain we're getting, so he just had his guys come to our house to start on a project we'd been contemplating so that they could still get some hours in ;) (everyone wins, huh?)

Yesterday I ended up doing PUB (no abs, :( , the cramps/bloating just weren't gonna let it happen). I made the HORRIFIC mistake of stepping on the scale yesterday (which I swore I would never again do, when it's that TOM :mad: , because my water weight gain/bloating is seriously ridiculous) and spent the rest of the day in a depression (as if my hormones didn't make it bad enough :rolleyes: ). It showed me like 6lbs heavier, and although it's all mind games, cause I'd just weighed myself a day or so before, it just made me feel like I was back to square one. That was so stupid of me, I go into this stupid panic every month, because one day I'm all slim and trim (well, ok, maybe not ALL slim, lol :p ) and the next day I'm like about to give birth :mad: . I swear, I always ask myself: is it really possible that it's all water?..... what if I really did gain?....WHAT IF..... IT DOESN'T GO AWAY WHEN THE PERIOD'S OVER!? :eek:

Yep. I actually have that exact conversation w/myself 12 times/year :rolleyes: . And as soon as I convince myself that I will just have to relegate myself to spending the rest of my life on a fat farm :( ....... it's over :p ROFL , tummy deflates, arms become a bit less...soft, lol, and I get about a good 3 weeks in before it all begins again :D .

Judgement Day ( :cool: ): Your DH sounds like mine, lol. Only mine has never "named" me, lol. Oh, wait...he did call me "The Black Cathe" :confused: the other day, does that count :rolleyes: ? (He came down and watched me do some pull-ups the other day, and said it looked like the STS cover :eek: , that's when the "name calling" started....which, BTW, I could NEVER compare to Cathe :eek: , so I asked him to not shame her by putting me in a category anywhere near hers, lol.)

Tracy: I would def miss my DH too, if he were gone for that long. :( We've had a few of those times, and I'd go crazy every time. :(:mad::confused: (SO glad he doesn't work that job anymore!) As for the pull-ups, it's like Katie said, "baby steps." I can very clearly remember being the girl that just hung on the pull-up bar in High School, lol. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to see the top of it. :confused: It always reminds me of a scene that I saw in the movie, "Save the Last Dance." There was a gym scene, where the PE teacher was trying to make a girl climb a vertical rope. The teacher yelled, "Use your upper body!" The girl, yelled back, "I DON'T HAVE AN UPPER BODY!" Yep, that was me. ;)

Wendy: Good job getting rid of the party weight. I'm glad your scale experience is more pleasant than mine :eek: . I don't know what's up with that ticker, either? Last time, it would update when I updated my W/O manager, but this time, I had to keep updating it manually? :confused: Don't be scared of Amy Bento's ASC, I'm sure YOU could swing it (unlike me, lol). I just stick to her kickbox vids for now, lol. Speaking of which....hmmm, I think there's one still in the plastic in there somewhere, lol! Might be time to break that bad boy out! :p

Autumn: Aww, the zoo! We haven't been in so long (like 8 yrs, I think :eek: ) was it a "field trip" (everything is for us as homeschoolers, lol :p) ? Speaking of field trip, do ya'll ever watch "Magic School Bus", that was one of our favorites!? That, and all things PBS...can ya tell I'm already getting empty nest syndrome, lol, and he's only 13! (14 next month :eek: ) Why do they ever have to grow up :(

Ah, well, ladies, that was my rant for the week :D. See what happens when I'm away from the computer for ONE day?! :rolleyes: Plus, I figured ya hadn't had one in a while. :cool: Time to get to work now, today's w/o plan is PLB (couldn't leave the upper body hanging :p )

Kiki:: I didn't set up my STS rotation via a pre-made/downloaded rotation so I was never able to have the ticker update automatically. I mess with my rotations way too much to do it that way :p so I've been updating manually all along. "The Black Cathe"...LOVE IT! Your DH is a genius! Especially considering you are the one with the BIG GUNS (and the gun show!!!) right!? :D Sorry about your TTOM woes. The scale will go up a bit for me but not too much TG. Yeah, stay away from the scale during that time if it messes with your head. Not worth it!!!!! :eek: WTG doing PUB! That's a tough one for sure!
 
Good morning all! It sure is a purty day here. I'd love to be outside right now. Damn desk. :mad: :p

This morning I completed Disc 12. Meso 1 = CHECK! Okay, i'm going to say something and hope I don't get exiled from the check-in group...I don't know what I think about STS at this point. ((((DUCKS)))) I actually really like the leg workouts - which is crazy because I usually hate leg workouts - but so far i'm not a huge fan of the upper body workouts. I'm not sure why...I feel I pushed myself hard but I never got DOMS in my upper body like I do with some of Cathe's other workouts and so far no changes in my body composition or weight. Maybe i'm just expecting to much.. I'm definitely going to finish the program and i'm really looking forward to Meso 2. The good news is I need to buy more (heavier) weights!

Kiki: I have to admit I really like the "Black Cathe" nickname! That's awesome! I'm sorry your TOTM is reeking havoc on your body and mind. :( At least it will be over soon and you'll be back to your trim and slim and fantastic self. :) I hope the renovations go well (and quick)!! If your DH is anything like mine, having the renovation schedule run on "his clock" can be a little scary. :p

Wendy: I like wine. Wine is good. You know what's best, wine AND chocolate together. Yum! Does anyone see the problem here? ;) :eek: Maybe THIS is why my body isn't changing. Haha! Anyway, you're ability to do kickbox workout wearing weighted gloves just amazes me. :) Way to go girlie!

Tracy: Hope you're hanging in there without your DH. When is he supposed to be home? What did you think of the Abs Circuits Weight Ball w/o? I still haven't done that one! :confused:

Katie:: LOL we'd never kick you out of the check-in! M1 is by far NOT the fave of the 3 mesos. If there is any dislike of STS it usually has to do with M1. M2 is waaaaay better! I adore M2 personally! Give M2 a chance-you will likely be pleasantly surprised! I can not believe, however, that you are not getting any u/b DOMS! :eek: I also liked the leg work outs in M1 but upper body-not so much. It was exhausting because of the pace and all of those push ups! Well, let's just say I wasn't a fan! :p I didn't let it blow my image of STS though. I pushed through it and now I'm in lurve! ;) Thanks re K/B with weighted gloves. Just takes some practice. I adore it. I have gotten some most excellent DOMS from it too! :D Yes, wine and chocolate go hand in hand. Last summer I went away for the weekend with a fellow Cathlete and we went to a winery for a chocolate and wine festival. It was fantastic! We tasted several wines and got a plate of various treats to eat while we drank. OMG-to die for! :eek::D;)
 
kiki: thanks for writing about going crazy when DH gone. It is mentally taxing!!! I am not sleeping well at all either! ugh. As for TTOM, girl, I feel at least 4 mo. preggo every time.... and I don't know about you but, a milder version always happens at ovulation (sorry for the TMI--but it's facts) too...bloat, and crabby. I also think TTOM works in my head to make me think I look fatter too. NOw, I KNOW this is true because I went to a one day women's conference on how to deal with this. Knowledge is power.

First week after TTOM: I love everyone, life is good, I feel beautiful, I am such a catch.
second week after TTOM: I love most people, life is ok most of the time, I'm not so bad.
third week after TTOM: I kind of like some people, my life is tolerable: I can do this. Oh well, I guess I can live with me.
Fourth week: I hate everyone, come over here so I can slap you. I hate my life:it sucks, I am a fat pig and will always be ugly.

And there's my monthly life in a nut-shell:confused::D:cool:

ricklyk1: like med ball abs, but was too short for single person only...went to partner med ball abs and my DD (stinker) daughter (12) refused to do them with me..she ran on the TM.

haven't worked out today yet. I am so tired, from fitful sleep.

Hi again gals. Well, I took a nap so decided to smack down some cardio today!!!

I did IMAX 2 again. Love love love it. I could actually do the air jacks without modification. woo hoo!! I think the STS is helping with my cardio as well as the running. Also did Ab circuits stability ball.

ricklyk1: I can relate with the STS....I am still fighting with the working my body parts only ONCE a week in terms of weights. But I do love the structure it affords my workout schedule, as well as all the different dvds. Time will tell.

Well, I have some good and bad news. The bad news, I did the unthinkable and stepped on the scale again :eek: (couldn't help myself :p ) the good news, is I'm "down" 4 lbs! Of course the other 2 lbs still have me in a state of panic (Hey, I do have the Phx vacation coming up in like 8 days, can't blame a girl for being extra worried ;) ) , but TTOM isn't over yet, so there's still hope :confused: .....I hope! I've been logging my eats the whole time, so according to my calculations, I should have been maintaining still under all of that water. We'll see, I guess. I will just be drinking TONS of water til then, to help shed any remaining water. I suppose I can throw in a few extra cardio sessions too, just in case :p

Tracy: Your week by week TOM account is hilarious, but SO true. It its exactly what I go through. I feel you on the looking preggo part, it's so ridiculous that my belly can get that big and NOT have another human being inside of it :confused: . DH thinks it's so cute...attractive even! :eek: He just rubs my belly every time I walk by as if I'm "expecting" :rolleyes:

Katie: I agree w/Wendy that you may be presently surprised by M2, it's a favorite of many. The lifting style changes, the muscle groups being worked together changes, and the push-ups magically disappear :D . I can't say that I feel anything strong for M1 (either good or bad) but I appreciate what it does for me when I get to M3. All of those supporting muscles are prepped to play their role by then. I had REALLY weak forearms before starting STS the first time, and I could never lift the way that I did by M3 if the endurance in the forearms weren't built up in M1. I know because I'd tried to increase my weights on back exercises many times over the years, and my forearms would always give out before my back did. I no longer have that problem, and am now able to see the changes in my back & shoulders that I never could before. As for no upper body DOMS, :confused: I do know that you weren't able to do the pull-ups though, so maybe that makes a difference? IDK (but you were doing some major rowing, right? if not - GET READY :p ) Enjoy your rest week, get in some of the w/o's you been missing, lots of cardio and stretching. Get you some good HEAVY weights (that'll help w/that DOMS ;) ), and get psyched for M2. If all else fails, it was a good investment, you got a great rotation in, and the STS resale value is pretty darn good :cool:

Wendy: I am the same w/you on the rotations. I mess with them SO much that they look nothing like they were supposed to by the time I finish w/them, lol. But they are a good starting point. I usually download them into my calendar just as a guide, and adjust as I go. I'm pretty sure that's why I had issues this time, too. Because every time I changed something that wasn't on the rotation, it threw it off. :p


Well, today's plan is Intensity, and cramps permitting...some ab work! BBL to report if anything actually happened (I really should have been working out right now, instead of being on here! Gotta jet!)

Wendy: Whew, thanks for not kicking me out! I was a little worried I was going to spark a riot. :p I'm very glad to hear Meso 2 is better than Meso 1. I'm really looking forward to Meso 2. I can't believe i'm not getting u/b DOMS either! I WANT them, I need them, i've GOT TO HAVE THEM (wait, am I talking about chocolate again - hehe). Now that I think about it though, I do tend to get DOMS more often in w/os where I exhaust one muscle group first before moving on to the next (PUB, Gym Styles, etc.). When i'm crying in Meso 2 about my u/b DOMS feel free to remind me of this moment. :D Wow, your wine/chocolate weekend extravaganza last summer sounds amazing!! What a great escape! :)

Tracy: OMG, your weekly breakdown is seriously cracking me up. As in laughing so hard i've got tears in my eyes. Way to go with Imax 2 and those air jacks!! I LOVE that workout as well. Nothing like a nap to re-energize! I'm so sorry to hear you're having trouble sleeping while your DH is away. Is he coming home soon?? :( Men - drive you crazy when they're home but miss them like crazy when they are gone! I'm sending "sleepy thoughts" your way!!

Kiki: Oops we posted at the same time! Great minds think alike. :) Down 4lbs - WOOHOO! I really appreciate the advice about STS! I tend to worry a little, okay a lot, and I was starting to work myself into a tizzy thinking I was wasting my time with STS. I'm definitely keeping the program, if for nothing else the leg workouts. I know I keep talking about them, but I actually like the STS leg w/os and it is just blowing my mind. I HATE leg workouts - Butts & Gutts = spawn of satan. I definitely think not having the tower for pulls up/chins up hindered my progress a bit. I've got the tower on my Christmas wish list already! I'm going this weekend to get heavier weights, so maybe that will help a bit too. Good luck with Intensity!!!

Good Morning Ladies.

Today's work out-original BM warm up + power circuits/PLB stability ball segment/6 min abs. It was sooooo hot in my work out room this morning that I wanted to die! :eek: I need to get DH to put the a/c in the window this weekend before I pass out! :eek:

Today's WW weigh in- Down 1.4#! This puts me only .6 from goal! :D

Kiki:: Hey missy I made the mistake of reading your post over in the STS forum regarding reversing the program and now I'm considering adding another 2 months to my current STS rotation! You are KILLING me! :p

Tracy:: IMAX2 is hard work but so much fun! It's my absolute fave by leaps and bounds of the 3 imaxes. Glad you enjoyed it and kicked butt at it too!

Katie:: I can't wait to hear your thoughts on M2 and trust me I will be right there to remind you of the DOMS you BEGGED for in M1 when you are crying about it in M2! :p I have no great plans this weekend. It's actually going to be the only mellow weekend all month and I'm thankful for that. I go to get my hair done in the morning and other then that it's the usual housework/foodshopping/laundry, etc w/the exception of going to my MIL's house on Sunday night for dinner to celebrate SIL's B'day. Next weekend, however, we are off to the casinos for the long weekend! I.CAN.NOT.WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Katie: ROFL @ "spawn of Satan"!! Yeah, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on those tri-sets for legs in M2 :eek: ! Those are SO killer! I really think I'm gonna get squat rack legs for my next STS rotation. I mean I like Plyo legs and all, but just not really as part of my STS rotation :confused: . I like he cardio aspect of Plyo legs, but I feel like my legs don't get the same benefits that my upper body does from STS, if that makes any sense. I suppose that's different for everyone, though?

Wendy: I hope you do try the STS "pyramid", I really wanted to do it this time, but my need to learn how to step :rolleyes: takes up the time that I'd have to dedicate to it. It was very hard for me to not do it this time, but I'm pretty sure I will this fall/winter. I want to plan it just right so that I'm back in the "cut" phase by spring/summer. We'll see. Hopefully this thread, or one similar will still be around so I can note my progress. Please, please let me know if you do it and your results... :D I think that combined w/your ab work/cardio consistency, we could be on to something ;)

I can't believe I just typed all that on my phone, hope it makes sense, lol. Cuz I ain't editin! :p
 
Oh, Wendy, btw, I had to say how much I feel you on the no a/c in the workout room! I've been beggin DH for years, & I'm still dyin in there. I'm putting my foot down this yr, lol. "If you want me to keep this hot bod in tact..." :p

Kiki:: Hey-I have a question about the pyramid scheme of yours...should I do mesos 2 and 1 in regular ascending order (13-24 and then 1-12) or do I reverse the ENTIRE thing and do the discs in descending order as well from D24 down to 1? So why no a/c where you w/o?? I would die if I didn't have one. :eek:
