STS Fit Chicks!

Good Morning Everyone!!

I missed yesterdays introduction, so I thought I would post it here.

My name is Debbie. I am married with 2 children or should I say one adult and one child. My eldest is in University and just started back yesterday after the University was on strike for 3 months.

I love exercising but I find life gets in the way. I usualy follow a rotation for a month or so then somethings happens (sick, family, etc.) and I don't get in nearly as much exercise I should but the important thing, is I always get back up and start again. I am still debating if I should do the 3 month or 6 month rotation. What has everybody decided and why?

I have never been involved in a check-in before, so this will be my first. WOO HOO!!:D

I am still waiting for my STS to arrive. BOO HOO!!:(

Yesterday, I started doing my 1RM testing and I will continue that today and maybe hop on the treadmill as well.

Question of the day: How many of you have enough fitness equiptment to charge membership? I DO!!

Yes, LOL, I could start charging a membership fee with all the equipment I own.

One reason I enjoy programs like STS that come with DVD’s alone and not with any new gadgets or equipment that I already own, is because I have too much. I don't have a separate workout room. I use my living room and don't have any more room to store duplicates, unless I sell the couches..LOL!!

Oh this is so exciting to hear everyone's stories from the day after! I'm so glad that everyone is really feeling these workouts.

I just received my STS package yesterday and spent most of last night viewing the first few discs. I can't wait to get started. Again, I'm not starting until the 16th.

Okay, this is a dumb question but I am new to the forums/check-ins, etc. Do you start a new post every day for a check-in? I'm assuming so since I managed to find this post for today. :=)

I really am excited about this challenge. I don't have many women who have the same enthusiasm and love for fitness and nutrition that I do. I am about 20 lbs. from my goal weight and I feel like posting on this forum is making me accountable for what I am doing or not doing! I feel like if I don't do it I'm going to let you guys down. I have so many women at work who are "big talkers" and state EVERYDAY to me how they are going to start an exercise program tomorrow and start eating better as they're grabbing their purse and heading out the door to McDonald's. I don't want to be one of those women. Alright, I'm done babbling. :=)

It depends on the check-in as to whether you do a new post every day or not. Since this one is so big, we pretty much need to do one every day, just to keep everything straight. When you have a small check-in, sometimes they do it by week or monthly since there are so few posts. :)

I just wanted to check back in since I finished plyo disc 26.
The workout in the beginning seemed easy compared to P90X plyo..... or, so I thought.
The intensity began to build through each sequence. By the end, I was so very tired. I actually had doubts I could finish. I've never really felt that way about any workout!
I think next week, I'm going to drop the weights for the half turns. At least until I build up more stamina. I highly recommend skipping any breakfast with this workout. I felt green in a very bad way in quite a few places:eek:

Finished Disc 1 + ab circuit and it went pretty well. I found my shoulders hitting failure and the target weight too heavy. I think that is due to all the pushups....they tend to fatigue my shoulders. The target weight for other muscles were fairly close give or take a couple pounds. I'm just going to continue to use the target weight as a guideline and adjust depending on how I feel that day.

I enjoy hearing everyone's opinions and experiences with the workouts. Thanks for sharing!

STS Pilates done w/cardio .. good work out .. one or two unusual exercises .. but a decent workout in a different way!!:D

I am loving STS!!!! Bring it on baby!!! :p

Thanks for the warning about Plyo Legs, Cynthia!;)I'm planning on doing that one Friday instead of Meso 1 legs just because I've been reading a lot about the benefits of plyo moves for leaning out legs. I know diet is the key, but I'll take any help I can get.:D I was also thinking of adding some of the bonus leg work from Meso 1 to the end of Plyo legs.

Debbie-I hope your STS comes soon!!!

I could definitely charge membership to my basement gym, especially if DH ever gets around to putting together my power tower that I've had since June!!!!

Hello!

Well chickies although I haven't received STS (they are coming tomorrow), I have been doing all the prep work. I setup DH's account, entered all of our 1RM, entered all the workouts for 3 1/2 months starting tomorrow and printed all of our workout cards. I CANNOT WAIT! DH and I have been working out together since November and I can honestly say we have had so much fun together. Last night, we were doing Slow and Heavy Biceps and I doing my normal grunting and DH busted out laughing. He was so hysterical he had to leave the room. :rolleyes:Boys!

I better scoot! Later gators!

I had planned on starting STS on Feb. 9, but I when mine came yesterday I was so excited that I can't wait that long! I'm starting tonight.

I definitely have enough equipment to charge for membership. I have a treadmill, stairmaster, and a power tower in my basement. 2 full size steps, one high step, 3-30 pound dumbells, barbell with plenty of plates. In our heated garage, we have a cycle, treadmill and "man" weights. Lat machine, squat rack, etc..

You'd think I'd be in better shape with all that equipment! I'm cleaning up my eating so all my hard work will finally pay off.

Regarding the question of the day: YES! I could charge a membership....

I have a treadmill, elliptical, bike, Hoist home gym W/leg press, squat stands, 3 barbells + plates, dumbbells 3-50lb, step, high step, bosu, kettlebells, free standing heavy bag, platemates, wrist & ankle weights, pull up bar, bands, balance discs, muay tai pads, body shield pad, Bo's, sparring gear, mats, and a billion workout dvd's

This is embarrassing BUT we do have 4 people here that workout:eek:

Judi,
I LOVE Hoist gym equipment. I wish everything I owned was made by that company. Our last major purchase was the Hoist personal trainer. It's squat cage, pulley, pull-up and bench combo. I LOVE it!
I don't know what we would do if we ever moved out of our home.

Cynthia-

ITA about Hoist equipment...love it! Your personal trainer sounds great! I don't think we'll ever be able to move either. It would cost too much to move all this stuff:confused:.

BTW, I forgot to add my weight bench to the list:rolleyes:

Today was Disc 2, still diggin' that 1 set format! I liked disc 1 better, but that's because I like chest work better than back work. Disc 2 was a great/killer workout, the second to last exercise, the side lying pushups, I found nearly impossible to do, I did about 4 crappy ones on each side, then did one more tricep exercise to compensate for it.

I used my Lebert Equalizer bar to do the pull ups, it worked out pretty well, I added on a set of band pulldowns to on one of the pull up sets too. But the feet are loose on the Lebert and I can't find that darn tightener thing.

The charging for my gym question is funny, I work at home a few days a week, and have often wondered if I could make a few bucks on the side renting it out an hour at a time. :p I suppose I couldn't charge much, I don't have any heavy equipment, just all the stuff you need for the Cathe DVDs and some extra benches, a bosu, kettlebells, etc.

Equalizer

I recently bought an Equalizer as I don't have much room at home for other equipment. I instruct with them in my boot camp classes all the time so I'm pretty familiar with all the exercises that can be done. Just wanted to let anyone know that I have an instructor discount code - 080306 for $10.00 off if anyone is interested in ordering online. Not sure if it has an expiry date. http://www.lebertequalizer.com.
