I hope everyone had a fun holiday :) Well the partaay is over :D beack to the grind we go. Please post how you did with Disc 22. I'll be back to post later and to check up on you ;)

Morning Cathe and all :)!

I am so very pleased to report that this was the best chest workout I had in Meso 2 :D! I finally figured out where my weights needed to be to work hard but not be in fear for my life or of causing myself serious harm . I was so psyched from this workout - now it's hard to believe that's it for chest in this cycle. I had a little harder time finding the right weight for my triceps but that's okay - I nailed them the other 3 workouts so.... ;)

I must say I loved the drop-sets. They were tough  but went much faster than last week's chest, etc, workout with the double wave loading. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed that, but as I had a full day planned, I was glad to not have to linger too long in my exercise room .

did this earlier today - and 100% loved it!

i used our smith machine so i could really push hard on chest!

the time FLEW by w/ the drop sets! this was a great wo!!

I did this workout this morning ! I loved it & really felt like it whooped my butt !

I have found that I NEED a spotter or a rack because I felt I was risking injury trying to get 50 plus pounds up in position to start the chest presses !

The seated overhead presses for shoulders - I felt the weight was maybe too heavy. I hit failure on all three sets & had to stop a few reps early on each.

I was worried about the pushups - after having the break from them, but I didnt' have any problem with them and did all the first sets on my toes , dropped to my knees for the tricep pushups at the end of the workout.

I didn't sleep well the past 2 nights, so possibly that was affecting my workout.
I enjoyed it very much, loved the pace .
I added on 30 minutes of hills on the stationary bike to burn off the coconut cream pie from yesterday. ;)

Well... I didn't expect the drop sets to be with no rest so  on the first set. Yowsa. They work ya! I did this on Friday and I felt it for the full 2 days afterward. Nice  I agree that this went by fast!

I just finished up. That was a good one, and hopefully that workout is busy torching away the billions of chocolate bunnies I managed to inhale yesterday.

Chest work went well, I love the tricep work, and my shoulders are feeling the front and lateral raises. Close grip pushups are always my challenge. They were the toughest for me. Things will be a bit sore tomorrow for sure.

DISK 22 Chest, Shoulders and Triceps

Ok, I started out strong with my 1st 10 consecutive push-ups on my toes...literally, my 1st ever on my toes. (yea for me :p) Then bench press was heavy, but got through it. Incline flys slowed way down, and for incline bench press, the weight suddenly kicked in. :( I had one heck of a time with those! Slowed even more and lost the last few reps. Is is more important to keep the weight and lose the rep, or lower the weight and go for all the reps? I kept the weight and just lost the reps. Anyway, triceps went well. That is until close grip tricep push-ups. Let's see, we were to do 10, 10, and to failure...I hit failure after a total of 3...and that was on my knees. Yikes!
Obviously I am not feeling real strong today. Can I blame the Easter Bunny? ;)
Hope everyone had a great workout!

Good evening everyone! I finished this workout earlier this afternoon. I thoroughly loved the chest work. I did about 15 of the pushups on my toes then dropped to my knees for the rest. I did the tricep pushups using my stairs so I was at an angle. I struggled to get the presses up but managed. PHEW on the shoulder presses. I have found shoulders to be my weakest musle group and am struggling on most of the exercises. I do know that I need to push through and get stronger in that area. I liked the tricep work. I did the extensions with dumbbells and used the different hand positions Cathe described on Cathe TV.

I cannot believe we are almost done with Meso 2! I have to have a better plan this week for our "rest week." On my non-gym days, I was kind of lost tring to think of what cardio to do!

Take care everyone and happy lifting for Disc 23/Legs.

Carrie

Push ups are back! I think that's a good thing.... :)

I was surprising myself with those heavy weights. Thinking ahead to the Strength phase and then even further as to what I'm going to do after STS. I may repeat Meso 2 or Meso 3 or Meso 2&3. Anyone figured out what they're going after STS to do yet?

My 80% for shoulder presses was 27!!! Whoa! I picked up 25s and attempted one but knew there was NO WAY! So I did 20, 15, and 12. That was hard enough!!!! 27 for shoulder presses sounds impossible....

Looking forward to legs but I did bleachers at the track today (one of my favorite cardio/leg workouts) so I may not do legs until Wednesday depending on how I feel.

I did Disc 22 first thing this morning and loved it just like all of the other workouts. Pushups are back???? Love those drop sets with only 10 seconds in between. That gets my heart beating and the sweat rolling. I'm sure my upper body will be talking to me tomorrow.

Have a good evening.

Bev

Wow! Was I shocked by those close grip pushups. When I literally failed on the first rep of the first set I knew I was in trouble... 8) I'm starting to think ahead to Meso 3 and how that will be quite different from this cycle just like Meso 2 was very different from Meso 1. Can't wait!

Good evening Cathe and STS troopers!;)

STS- Disc 22-Chest, Shoulders, Triceps= 43 min
Calories burned= 334
I liked this workout, it was fast, and I loved the Dropsets with 20% reduction from 80% Max. By the time you get to the lightest weight you feel like you could throw it through the ceiling. LOL!!! Lifting 80% of my One Rep Max sounds impossible by this point its not only possible but doable and ready to surpass that. I love STS! Thanks Cathe!!!

Hugs and keep up the awesome hard work gang!:)

Wow, I really enjoyed this workout. It was just the perfect workout after a holiday weekend. Intense and short. Get in, get strong, and get out. And, call me crazy, but I missed doing push ups and enjoyed them again. The chest work was really adding up there and by the end I was fried. It didn't get any easier as we moved from shoulders and then to triceps since the "sting" never fully left as we moved on to the next muscle group. Hmmm, was that planned? ;)

Overall, drop sets were hardcore and perfectly effective for the mind and body. A nice compliment to last weeks longer double wave load workouts.

Enjoy it everybody!

Tomorrow I have a photo shoot scheduled for the day for some of our new upcoming Fitness By Cathe products. After work my cute munchkin has a baseball game so I will try to stop back and check in with you at some point if I'm able to.

Toodles :D

Wow! I did this one yesterday morning and did I ever feel it when I rolled out of bed this morning! And I'm with you Cathe - missed those push-ups. I've been doing ab circuits and my core is sore today from push-ups!! Gotta love em :)

Hi Everyone,

Disc 22 seemed refreshingly short after a week of double-waving! :)
Definitely was intense though. I felt stronger in general with the chest & was able to complete most of the reps except for the last one or two on the 3rd sheet of incline flys. Push-ups felt good initially, but didn't go as long as Cathe & the cast on the failure set.

Shoulders & Tri's were challenging, but good as well. This workout flew by & as much as I love STS, it was nice to have a short chest, shoulder & tricep routine.

STS is going by so quickly; unbelievable that next week is rest & then Meso 3 begins. I'm excited! I think I will do plyo legs during Meso 3 & then try the squat rack legs next time I do STS (when hopefully the Power Tower will be available) :) I think after I finish STS this time, I'm going to do 4-day split cardio+weights each week for a month. I really love 4DS. I usually throw in an extra day of 45-60 of cardio so that I'm exercising 5 days/week.
After that, I'll go on a long 2 wk vacation. After vacation, I plan to start STS again.
But for now, I'm looking forward finishing up Meso 2 this week & doing legs and back & biceps. It's funny, but the 4th week of Meso 1, I was dying for the rest week to begin--it was really hard finding energy to do those final workouts in Meso 1. With Meso 2, I'm kinda sad that it's ending & actually am not nearly as excited about the rest week. Instead, I'm like, can't I just keep on to Meso 3???? I'm going to miss STS next week!
But no worries, I'll be good & take the rest week ;)

this was possibly my worst showing yet...ugh....i was not strong yesterday at all....
I missed push-ups and enjoyed opening up the workout with them - rep speed was nice- created a good warmth in the overall chest area. I finally nailed the weight level for bench press, and was struggling for the last rep on each set.
Shoulders were abysmal - which is odd because usually this is a strong area for me - I had to drop down on most of my weight levels and even in doing so, was fried by the end of the sets.
Triceps was my strongest (which is ironic considering it used to be my weakest, but at least I know STS is working for triceps :) Held good form for all reps.

YAY I got my weighted gloves!!!

WOW, what a difference those gloves make. Now, I am at the exact correct weight and it really matters. I was improvising before by going up and down by 5 lbs here and there. My gym has a set of 12.5, 17.5, and 22.5 dumbbells, which helped, but did not solve for all of the off weight needed. Now I can actually complete the set and my muscles do fail. The weight feels perfect.

I love those drop sets!!! So much fun and challenge!!!

I was able to all of the sets of pushups on my toes - in the beginning. I managed 10 on my toes and then an additional 10 on my knees for the TF set. The close grips though had to be done on my knees. :( Bummer. I was so wiped out at that point though.

Great workout!

OOps.... no wonder it felt so bad

Hey All

I just did this one this morning. I was very happy to do all 4 sets of push-ups on my toes. Then the chest press seemed sooooo heavy. I got to use my new gloves and was all excited to be at exactly 81. It was really tough and I could hardly get the bar low enough. Then when I went to change the bar for the incline press I realized I was not at 81 before but at 87. OOOPS. No wonder I was dying. I loved the drop sets however I think I was too heavy for the shoulder work as I could not complete all teh reps and then I was too light for the triceps. I have next week to tweak it though! 6 monthing it

Thanks again Cathe
