STS CHECK IN DISC 17

disk 17

Disk 17 done. Very tough, but I am not feeling very energetic this week either. Must be the heavy weight work. This one really got me good. The very last set of one-legged lunges had me praying for mercy. I did do much better with the plates though. Finally able to do the moves with moderate weight and feeling pretty balanced. Used a barbell for the deadlifts. Love those!

Hi Cathe and STSer's,

STS-Disc 17-Legs= 47 min
Calories burned= 385
Oh man, this was awesome, but then again I love Cathe's workouts and especially her legs workouts. One thing with Cathe's workouts, there all awesome! STS-Disc 17-Legs- is no exception. I loved this workout, its the bomb. My favorite was the leg plate work. Man, those tri sets calf raises at the end did get me good! Tough stuff! I did stretch out a bit longer after this.

I did notice that throughout this entire workout that I had to increase the weight above the 75% of my 1 RM. Because the weight printed on the workout card was too light. Is that ok at this point of the STS? I don't want to over shoot and wind up feeling that the next % of 1 RM is too much for me. I felt brave today and did increase, but it would be nice to know if that's ok as long as the form is good. I also added one of the abs sections from Butts & Guts= Core abs on floor with weights- 14 min that's such a killer, loved it!!!

Have a great evening Cathe and my fellow STSer's (Waves):);)

Hugs!

Nora

INJURED!!!

Yikes!!! I hurt myself during this workout.

The workout was very effective since I was very fatigue towards the end. Unfortunately, I lost my concentration and therefore my form on the 1st triset during my third rep of deadlifts. I went down and came up all wrong and POP!!! I heard and felt something pop in my lower back on the right side. Good god, it was so loud I thought the whole gym heard it!

Ugh- I immediately put away the weights and cleaned up my area. I went downstairs to the stretch area and tried to stretch it out. Boy did that hurt! So then I left the gym and went to work on my new apartment. I put a bag of frozen peas in my waistband, took some Advil and just kept moving around. I took the next FOUR days off from working out and kept lightly active with walking. It felt healed within 2 days, but I wanted to make sure.

I got back to STS and I have been very careful with deadlifts.

This was a great lesson: pay attention!!!!

Other than that - I was on point with the weight and break time and absolutely loving that workout!

Hope you are feeling better now! Ouch! :(

Disc 17 was on my calendar today. Loving those tri sets!

Holy Cow - OUCH. I hadn't been feeling the burn in my quads much doing STS and was thinking I must be doing something wrong. My rear end seemed to be taking the brunt of the pain. Until today.... Thank goodness my rear isn't hurting (yet) so I can still walk. I'm hoping the quads ease up by the time the rear DOMS set in...so I can still walk. Not sure I'm going to be able to manage cardio today.

Here I am, post STS Legs Disk 17. What a disaster! I had to stop, just about halfway through. I had been feeling nauseous a couple of hours before the workout, but I have no idea why, because I don't think I have eaten anything controversial today. I decided to go ahead with the workout, even with feeling like throwing up at any moment. Stupidity runs in my family.

Anyway, I was at what I thought was the end of the second triset, when I realized that Cathe was starting the third section of the triset and I just stared at her for a few seconds wondering "what the heck?" before realizing that not only were we not as far along as I thought, but that there was no way in hell I could continue. I had been going down in weights already throughout the workout, shedding the 40lb vest AND lowering the dumbbell weight, and it was time to give up the ghost. The STS magic just wasn't happening today. I could barely stand the thought of putting my weights away.

And I'm still feeling like tossing my cookies. Bloody hell.
