STS CHECK IN DISC 12

Good Day STS peeps!

I too have been busy to keep the updates but I check them after every workout. I have been on schedule with every workout and am going to enjoy the week off. Still having trouble with the Sit and Stands but will work up to it. Weather here in Houston is cold but should change Monday. Will do some running for the week! Can see a change in my clothes already hope everyone has a good week off.

Finally got to do disc 12 with an unplanned rest day yesterday. The legs are feeling it. The one legged sit and stands are definately my challenge in this workout. Hopefully they will come. I really enjoyed Meso 1.

I'm looking forward to our upcoming recovery week. My glutes will thank me for it. I'll start with golf (52 degrees tomorrow!!!) It'll be my first time out this year.

Have a great week everyone.

Hey everyone,

I was late doing Disc 12 this week--actually my entire week was off. Instead of doing STS on Sun, Tues & Thurs, I ended up doing Mon, Wed & finally Disc 12 today. Disc 12 was challenging, but I could see some gains. I was finally able to do the wall squats with good form & actually made it through all the reps, even putting down & picking up the weights :)
The Sit N Stands are still hard for me, but did all the reps, though the last few were out of form. I was lazy today & didn't do the bonus legs.
This mesocycle has gone by so quickly. I looked at my Meso 1 package & was amazed that I've done all 12 discs. Seems like I just started.

For rest week, I'm going to do Cardio on Sun, Tues & Thurs; then stretch + Abs on Mon & Wed. Probably will rest on Fri & Sat, then plan to start Meso 2 on Sunday. I'm so excited!

Happy Rest Week!

We made it!

This time around I did the bonus legs section, and was able to to all of it- except the side leg lifts of the ball. I cramp up. So I did them lying down on my mat.

I still have trouble with the wall squats (stress on the kneee). As an alternative, I went down to a 90 degree angle and just held it. I felt a nice burn, and it felt safer.

I'm looking forward to our rest week, as it is a busy time work-wise for me. I plan on doing some yoga and stretching, and perhaps two cardio days.

Way to go everyone! So is everyone previewing Meso #2? :D

YAY!!!

My goal was to complete this workout and stay within the break times allotted and use the full 70% weight. I DID IT!!! And on a leg day too!!! Leg days are always the toughest.

It was challenging and I enjoyed the workout. I liked the bonus burn section too.

I am looking forward to repeating meso 1 in a few months. My goal then will be to do the whole thing with the full weight needed and no extra breaks. I mean full and strong reps too - sometimes I got a bit fatigued and then I would pause. Next time I want to do it with no stopping.

Well, it is over. Just like that, Meso 1 is gone. Disc 12 today went out with a bang! For some reason I felt under the weather today and had to force myself to do the workout - not like the others, ready and rearing to go. It was raining outside and I had a mild headache and my knees and lower back were achy too, it happens sometimes when it rains. So the wourkout was not as enjoyable as my other workouts so far. But I did it anyway - I read it in the Oxygen magazine once, Bob Kennedy said: "If you dont feel like going to the gym, go to the gym anyway!". Some good advise, that.
So, legs.
Went up to 70% on all exercises, even increased (yet again!!) my weight for the Leg Press and the one leg sit n slide. Did only one break mid workout - to catch my breath - but that is an improvement from the previous leg discs where I paused more. My forearms really burned from holding the 30 lbs DB for squats and I had to let go of the weight for some of the reps for calves. The wall squats were tough this time around too. But for the first time I did the one leg sit n stands with proper form - it just clicked, all of a sudden and I could do it. The bonus... oh, the bonus... The second leg couldnt make it at all on the ball - my ballance was completely off and until I even positioned myself, it was over! Ha.. Then the toss was fun, it fell only the first time, and all the rest I did according to plan. My mat was drenched in sweat in the end...
I am so happy this meso is over - first because of the recovery week ahead, and second, I have such a great feeling of accomplishment! I kept at it and didnt skip a single workout! I am looking forward to meso 2 - I am yet to preview the discs and I have only heard "things" about it which make me a little nervous, but ... I'm thinking - it cant be that bad! Afterall its Cathe's favorite, I just have to do it! Next week I'll do some yoga and some light cardio every day for 30 min, depending on my mood. I know it'll be over quick and STS will be back :) and I'll be ready and waiting!
Krasy

Yay Krasy! Congrats on finishing Meso 1. I did Disc 8 today. Can't wait to finish Meso 1 and get to Meso 2.
