STS BodyRockers - August 2012

Happy Friday ladies,

Today was CTX Power Circuit :) Got a good workout, my still slightly sore (from GS) legs handled it pretty well, I wasn't sure they would :eek:

Wendy - I love S&G cardio, great job on that and the BB biceps :) Sorry you didn't sleep well, but sounds like you made the best of it - love to get something done that you would have had to do in the a.m. anyway. Sounds like you got a lot done today as well, way to go! I have used the weighted gloves with KB before, I didn't with CTX KB though, didn't think of it - I'll have to add that next time :)

Katie - You deserve a recovery week (at least) with all the hard workouts you've been doing! I love Kickboxing too, it's my favorite cardio as well, funny though I really try to love KPC, but I struggle with that one! Meant to tell you too, bummer you don't like the Ryka Transpires, they really work for my feet, that arch support feels good for me. Hope you find some that work better for you!

Wiggie - Your workout sounds interesting - need elbow and knee pads... :eek: How do you like the Tapout workouts overall? Keep meaning to ask you what you think of the Sass Yourself Slim book/plan? Have you tried it - overall I really like it as a way to eat most of the time, I did come to realize though that I don't think it provided enough (protein? iron? something) to fuel any hard workouts, I was too tired it seemed like. So I've been tweaking it a bit and feel much better.

Hello Ladies. :)

Decided to do one of my new Kundalini dvds a go this morning - Yoga Beauty Body. It's a short one at only about an hour long!:p I enjoyed it alot!

Heading to visit my mom and her S/O this afternoon - swimming and dinner is on the agenda. Should be fun.

For now though, it's nap time. I woke up with a headache that I haven't been able to shake. Hoping the nap helps...

Hi ladies!

It sounds like a parents/family weekend for everyone! ;) I went to my parent's house after work on Friday and spent a lovely Friday evening/Saturday morning-afternoon with them. I came home late Saturday afternoon and did my workout - Crossfire + abs. Geez Cathe tried to take me out again! This was my second time doing the workout and it was tough, though, tough. Today i'm going to do a STS Meso 2 upper body workout (I think Disc 13). I'm debating whether to do it at home or take it to the gym. At the gym I can use heavier weight but at home I can actually workout "with Cathe". Decisions, decisions! :rolleyes::p

Kris: Nice job with CTX 10/10/10. I remember that tricep workout - not one a Cathlete easily forgets. ;):p Did you have a good time at your parent's house yesterday? I always eat great (i.e. yummy but not so healthy) when I visit family. :eek::D I'm bummed that the Transpires aren't working. They really are comfy shoe (arch support notwithstanding) and provide excellent overall support. I think my feet might be slightly flat which is why the arch support is bothering me. I'm considering taking a hammer and wacking the inside of the shoe a few times to decrease the arch support a bit. :eek: I'll let you know how that goes. ;)

Wendy: A short workout is an hour long?!?! Geez, i'm a slacker! :p;) Were you able to shake your headache yesterday? I'm suffering from full-blown fall allergies and have been experiencing awful headaches the past few weeks too. :( Hopefully you had a good time swimming and visiting with family!!Thanks for the yoga recommendations. I'm going to check them out!

Wiggie: You yoga skipper! :p;) Just teasing of course. :) Hope you enjoyed your tapout xt mish-mosh. The abs sound like Cathe's abs in MMA: Fusion. Any funs plans today?

Saving the best for last, I finished up my CTX plan with Leaner Legs - remembering quickly why we call that one "Meaner Legs" instead :eek::confused::eek:

Hi Katie - sounds like you had fun with your parents :) I had a good time with mine yesterday too, a little shopping with my mom, hanging out and lunch (pizza - yum) with both of them. Great job on Crossfire, I guess I've only done the whole workout once, have done quite a few of the Premixes, but yeah, the whole thing is killer, and the abs... ouch! What did you end up deciding - STS workout at home or at the gym?

I did my work out way late today but it's done and that's what counts! I did BB Timesaver #2 back/core - warm up and weights only + Intensity - Step Only premix! (I told you I'd end up havin' to dust it off!:p)The original plan for cardio today was the gym but that just didn't work out...Oh well...

So I posted my resume on Career Builder a few days ago and rcv'd an email today stating a prospective employer is interested in speaking with me after viewing it. The company is reputable (well known insurance company) but the way the email is presented has me a bit nervous...I'm gonna do some searching around the net before I respond. If I think it's for real I am definitely going to look into it though! Could be a good deal! :D

Ok, well dinner is almost ready (very late but I cooked none the less!) so I better go!

Morning!

I had trouble falling asleep last night and am I grumpy today. :confused: I felt okay during my workout this morning - Plyo Legs + Core - but now i'm fighting to stay awake. Ugh. I hate days like this. :(

Kris: EEK meaner legs!!! I've only done that workout once (and for good reason, lol). Are your legs sore today? ;):p I had pizza this past weekend with my parents too. ;) Double yum! I decided to take STS to the gym. I had the time and Sundays are usually not busy so I don't have to fight for equipment.

Wendy: Fingers crossed the job situation works out!! Smart to do your research first. :) Nice workout yesterday! How was that Intensity premix? As intense as you remember? :p;)

Good Morning Ladies. :)

Well, I talked to DH about the job email that I wasn't sure was for real and he suggested I give it a shot so I did and it was real coz I got a phone call a few minutes ago! I am being set up to attend what they call an "information session" regarding the company/employment. Even if nothing comes of it, atleast it's a start! :D What I like is that this company contacted ME after seeing my resume! Makes me feel very hopeful about having to look for a job these days...

I think I will be heading to the gym shortly for a run. Thinking some yoga may be an order as well! ;)

Wendy: Look at us posting at the same time. :p;) YAY, so glad to hear the job email is real!!!! I love your positive attitude. You're going to blow them away at the information session such that they are going to be begging you to come work for them. :eek:
 
Katie:: We were posting at the same time. :) Intensity seemed easier then it used to be except for the very last part with all of those plie jacks! OY! :eek::eek::eek: Before I responded to that email I checked out the website of the company and the address the email referred to was the same as the website's so it's not like someone was trying to get me to go to a "fake" location or something. Whew! Ofcourse you are fighting to stay awake now! You did Plyo Legs for heaven's sake! That would wipe anyone out! :p

I did Pure Strength - Chest, Shoulders and Triceps today - great workout, I think that's the first time I've ever done it even though I've had that dvd for a couple of years... :eek::rolleyes: I really enjoyed it, not sure why I didn't do it sooner :)

Hi Wendy - congratulations on the invite to the Information session, that's awesome! Great workouts yesterday too - BB and Intensity! Go you, way to get it done! How was the run? And yoga? :)

Hi Katie - way to go, getting Plyo legs done on less than ideal sleep! Hope you sleep better tonight!

Good morning All!!

Sorry I've been MIA, I had my Granddaughter Bailee this weekend, which always makes for a busy weekend!! I went to what we refer to as a special event Saturday, we just had an ambulance out there at the YMCA for the kids to view, so Bailee got to ride in it. She thought that was (quoting her) awesome! They had a bounce house out there for the kids, she loves those.

Fridays workout was Game Day from the Asylum, Satuday's was Jillian M's BR #12 & AB premix 1-10 & Sunday's was HIIT 25. I didn't get to do yoga:eek:, Bailee wanted to do the HIIT so there you have it! :p

I didn't do anything Monday, I didn't sleep well Sunday night, my sinuses were kinda drippy, & I got off from work late, so when I got home I took a shower & went to bed.

Well, that pretty much sums up the last few days. :)

Kris, you've been hitting it pretty hard lately, Pure Strength is another series I don't have. Good job, I hear it's tough!! I like Meaner Legs, but then I like working the lower body, I guess it's because I really need it!! :D

Wendy, good luck with this information session, this company recognizes a good thing when they see it!!;)

Katie, looks like we had the same type of day! :( Hopefully today will be better!!:)

Whew, Cathe is brutal this week! I'm doing her August 2012 rotation and today on the schedule was Imax 3. Tough stuff! Between Imax 3, plyo legs, STS workouts, and Crossfire i'm already exhausted and it's only Tuesday! :confused: Luckily I got a good nights sleep last night. :)

Wiggie: It sounds like you had a lovely time with your granddaughter this past weekend. I think it's fantastic that she workouts with you. My 5 year old nephew likes to "step" with me sometimes. Suprisingly he can do some of the easier moves. I have an old, smaller step that I gave to him, lol. :) Are you feeling any better today? Fall allergies are killing me too. :confused:

Kris: Nice job with Pure Strength! I don't think I have that one either. Is it different than Cathe's other strength workouts? I slept much better last night. :) Good thing too because I never would have survived Imax 3 on anything less than full power. ;)

Hello Ladies!:)

My work out is done! I chose the Lower Body Blast Premix (33 mins) from Super Sets. YEOWZAS! I went pretty heavy and barely had the strength/energy to finish it!!!:eek::eek::eek: Considering yoga or cardio for later on when I get back from that meeting but nothing is set in stone so we'll see how I feel...

Katie:: Wow, the August 2012 rotation sounds brutal! :eek: I have Pure Strength. It's an oldie but a goodie. What I like about it is the breavity of the work outs. It's great for a one body part per day rotation! I used it in conjuction with Body Rock work outs for a while. One body part from PS plus a BR. It was a great way to fill an hour time slot for a work out!

Wiggie:: Great work outs with the exception of missing yoga...AGAIN! :p Thanks for the vote of confidence and good luck wish for today's meeting. :) I have no idea what kind of position they are even considering me for so this should be interesting! LOL

Kris:: PS is a great series. Oldie but a goody! See my comments to Katie about it! :) Thanks re the meeting! I'll BBL to fill y'all in on how it went! Fingers crossed!;)

Hi Wendy - sorry that information session didn't work out :( I'm sure you'll hear from others very soon! I don't think I've done that Premix from Supersets, I'll have to check that one out, sounds tough!

Hi Wiggie - aw, your weekend with your granddaughter sounds like fun! Great job getting in workouts too! I like working my lower body too, or I think I do anyway, till I'm about 1/4 of the way through usually... lol :eek:

Hi Katie - I agree - that August 2012 rotation sounds really brutal! Way to go on Imax 3, glad you slept better! Agree also on PS, one of the really nice features is the length (both upper body workouts are between 35 and 45 minutes long) and they group the exercises, so it would be easy to work just one body part a day. The Leg workout (which includes abs) is closer to 1 hour.

Morning!

Today's workout was STS Back & Biceps at the gym. I like doing STS at the gym because I can go heavier, but I don't like having to find equipment and it always takes longer. :mad: I'm seriously thinking I just need to buy more equipment for the house instead of going to the gym. DH isn't a fan of this idea though (we have a tiny house). :confused:

Wendy: Awwww, I hate that the information session didn't workout. :( Like Kris said, I bet you're going to find something real soon! Nice job on the Superset premix! I've never done that one either but now i'm definitely going to check it out (I love me some lower body work). ;) I'm also going to check out Pure Strength. Maybe I can get it as a Deal of the Day!

Kris: Any part of Crossfire is extremely tough; way to work it lady! :) I can see doing a Pure Strength upper body segment mixed with a Crossfire tabata section (or two). :eek::eek::eek: Now I REALLY want to get PS, lol. :p;)

My quads are SORE from that SS premix y'day! WOW!

Recently finished my work out....gym this morning for a treadmill run ala' ITread #25 - 30 mins and then just recently finished Long and Lean Yoga by Baron Baptiste!:)

Holy cow! It just occurred to me that I haven't eaten lunch yet!!!:eek::eek::eek:

So I got a call this morning about a job and set up an interview for tmrw and I had a babysitter and the whole nine yards ready to go. Well I just talked to my DH and was telling him the name of the company and he's suggesting I cancel the interview. He said he's familiar with the company and that they are going to push sales on me...as in SELLING (perfume) ON THE STREET!!:confused: UGH. So much for that one!:(....Also got an email from another company who came upon my resume and asked me to give them a call but it's for another INSURANCE SALESMAN job!? REALLY!? WTH!?!? Double UGH! I HATE sales!:mad::mad::mad:

Ok, I'm done complaining...time to eat lunch finally!!!!:p

Good Morning. :)

Well, my neck is feeling better so I think I will attempt some shoulder work today ala' Boby Blast Time Saver and then move on to a little cardio and ofcourse some yoga too! ;)

I am going to pick up my MIL this morning. She will spend the night here b/c she is coming with us to Atlantic City for the holiday weekend along with my son. We leave tmrw at an undetermined time. I'd like to get my work out in BEFORE I pick her up so I am up early, coffee cup in hand, trying to get motivated...:rolleyes:

Kris:: ITA re CrossFire (and To The Max too)! The premixes are fantastic but what's even better is that they are broken down into short segments that are a breeze to mix n match for a mish mosher like myself! :D Thank you for the positive outlook on the job hunt. I've applied for atleast 10 jobs and have heard nothing back on ANY of them yet. :( With the market the way it is, I know it could take a while...it's just disappointing to me that I got three hits on my resume w/o even applying and they are for positions I have absolutely no interest in and would probably be terrible at doing anyway! :eek:

Katie:: I work out in a pretty small space and you should see all of the equipment I've managed to pack into it!!! Get creative and you can make it work! ;) Just don't tell your DH I said that, ok? :p
