Cathlete
Hi everyone,

Getting us started for the week!

I've been MIA for the past few days, but have been getting in some workouts - since I checked in last, I've done CSS Thursday (I liked it - not as intense as some, but I got a good workout), Friday rest day, Saturday I did AB (holy moly! Great workout - I loved it - burnt a ton of calories and I was a sweaty mess), today I did AT - loved that one too - the first 30 minutes or so are really intense - I had to stop a few times for a few breaths and to unnumb my poor legs! I'm just loving this new series. I can't wait for Cathe's rotations she said she will be posting by Monday night! I may do Yoga Max later today - we'll see:)

Terina - you've been getting some great workouts in! Way to go - I'm looking forward to TBT and LIC - haven't done those ones yet. Too funny, I did Joannie Greggins too - on a record - I think there were big cards that showed the exercises?

Kiki - did you try S&G or CSS - can't wait to hear your reviews.

Katie - Woo hoo on AT - glad you loved it! Hope you had fun on your pizza outing and football game, sounds great!

Wiggie - Great job on the AB premix and the Zumba - I have a friend who does it and just loves it! I like to golf too - not fabulous at it, but it's a fun date for DH and I. Hope you had fun!

Erin - I totally hear you about the triceps shaking on those cross body kickbacks, same thing here - crazy!

Bridget - Great job on your , TBT upper and LIC and the spinning - aweseome job! And yeah, the discs are used without the covers on the carpet - they work great on that.

Barbara - sorry the discs don't work on your floor:( Glad the furniture movers do work though. Great job with AB and LIC!

Wendy - So glad you liked AT too! Great BR workouts too. Don't stress about the rest days - you have been working so hard, just need a little break.

Tracy - Glad to hear from you - come back often :)

Hope you all have a great Sunday!

Kris

addendum: Hi there Wendy - saw we were posting at the same time :) - glad you enjoyed S&G, I agree, tougher than it looks!

Hey girls!

Yesterday was a rest day, and I haven't made up my mind what I'm gonna try to do today, lol. I finished M1D12 on Friday, so I'm officially in my recovery week, so hoping I get to sample more of the new stuff this week. I'm excited to see what Cathe comes up w/for her rotations, because I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure how to fit them in (since they're all pretty leg intense, and a lot of them contain some degree of "weight work," albeit lighter weights. I suppose I'll have a better idea after I try more of them out this week...

Kris: Thanks for getting us started. You've been gettin in some goodies over there while you were MIA. I never did end up doing S&G or CSS, I decided to pay homage to trying out new workouts and release one prisoner: MMA: KB (I'd only ever done the boxing, so it was all new to me). I've had it for ever, and hadn't done it, but DS has been doing the Shock Cardio's in prep for a basketball tryouts @ a local high school (tomorrow - lets pray it did him some good ) and he had actually done it the day before, and you know how I get about doing DVD's that are already in the player, lol. The convenience wins me over everytime....

Wendy: looks like your plan to do the new wo's on the weekend is def working out better for ya than trying to squeeze them in during the work week, when you're more pressed for time. Good thinking ;) & thanks for the review :D

Gotta run, but also wanted to give a quick shout out to Tracy!!! Hey girlie! I hope you'll be checking in w/us more often now that you're able to get some wo's in. Don't worry about it you're not up to speed yet, I'm still modifying stuff and recovering from injury, too!!

Happy Sunday morning- thanks for starting the thread, Kris

Today is my day of rest, and I am feeling the after effects of AB yesterday- my tush is on FIRE! Seriously!

Out to dinner last night, had a sensible dinner, cannoli for dessert, and went to a Halloween party, and indulged in the pretzels & Buffalo dip- yet still stayed within my point balance :)

Spinning class tomorrow morning, I'm not sure what I am doing on Tues & Thursday this week, will find something to fill those days...more LIS??

Kris- the discs are quite a step up from the paper plates! Now I can use the paper plates for things like- pot luck! I have to bring cookies to a church function today. I've been eyeballing CSS, that may be my Tuesday workout.

Wendy- I may wait a bit on S&G- still recovering from the disc moves in AB

Terena & Wiggie- talk about blasts from the pasts- my first workouts were in college-Jane Fonda on cassette- we went to different friend's houses to do it- my friend had it on vinyl! I can still remember the music in it! I moved up to Kathy Smith next, the fat burning workout- during the low fat oat bran phase. My roommate & I also went to Jazzercise classes- found the Firm, then Cathe... we've come so far, wish I could tell you I exercised consistently during that time, but we can always begin again.

Katie- did your team win? UK- Kansas? Kentucky?

Hi Barbara, Kiki, Erin, Tracy

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Bridget

Kiki- we posted at the same time- your rest week came on quickly. Your modified workouts that you do with your injury inspire me me to do SOMETHING even when I'm not up to it.

Tracy:: Thanks for stopping by!!! Missed you! Hope you decide to stick around, girl!:)

Kiki:: Yup, much better doing the new w/o's on weekends. I may throw in a couple short premixes during the week but that's about it...for now anyway. I would actually like to do STS again some day though so eventually I WILL need to get back my longer work out mojo atleast a leetle bit! :p Enjoy your rest week!

Bridget:: AB is my next "victim" in the LIS library. Can't wait! IDK what the points damage for those pancakes was. I really should go do a rough estimate but just haven't yet.

Kris:: Wow you've really been diggin' into the new Cathes this week! Good for you! All of the rave reviews about AB have me soooo excited to try it that I just might have to cheat on Zuzanna one day do one of the shorter premixes this week to get a feel for it! ;)

Terina:: OMG I sure DID enjoy what I ate y'day! Usually never have a free eating day like that unless I'm at the casinos. It was a nice treat! I am excited but kinda scared (of intricate choreo) to try Low Impact Challenge. Glad you enjoyed it!

Wiggie:: I have a Michael O. Boxing work out that is still in it's "cellophane prison" as Kiki would say. Had it for months now and never tried it! *sigh* So did you get your eats back on track? I did and I will be making low fat backed ziti for dinner tonight to celebrate! ;)

OK, y'all, so I did AB yesterday, and O.M.G! You have got to be kidding me!!! That workout is crazy tough! I loved it! :D I finally have a replacement for HIIT and CCC while my Achilles heals, and it may replace them even when I'm fully healed! LOL That wo is amazing, DOMS were kicking in within, like an hour of doing the wo, lol. You feel it everywhere! Especially the legs/glutes.

Wendy: You need to fit that one in...NOW! I did the Interval 1-5, premix it was only maybe 30 minutes of bootay kicking madness!!!! You'll love it! It'll fit in nicely w/your BR, and w/the premixes you can have diff wo each time ;)

Bridget: I am now feeling what you were feeling yesterday! AB kicked my butt (literally!) What a way to kick off my "recovery" week, lol. Hope you enjoyed your rest day and that your legs have fully recuperated for spin this AM.

Enjoy your Monday, everyone! IDK what I'll do today, but from the way I feel, probably YR, lol....

Happy Halloween!!

Any fun Halloween plans this evening? I'm going trick or treating with my nephews and indulging in a deliciously sinful pumpkin pie brownie I made this weekend. I'm going to be in sugar (and calorie) overload i'm sure.

This weekend's workouts consisted of the following:

Saturday: Turbo Barre (FANTASTIC workout! I was wondering if my legs were ever going to stop shaking! :) ).
Sunday: Kick, Punch, Crunch (an oldie but a goodie)
Today: Athletic Step (I can't seem to get enough of this one).

Kris: Thanks for getting us started for the week! You've gotten in some great workouts the past few days! I felt the exact same way about both CSS and Athletic Training. I'm very excited about Cathe's rotation too!

Kiki: What fun do you have planned for your recovery week? Lots of LIS madness? :p I'm a little scared now of Afterburn! Okay I lied i'm a LOT scared! How did DS' basketball tryouts go?

Bridget: WTG staying within your points during your Halloween fun! I have the awfulest (is that a word??) time watching my calorie intake on the weekends. Working on that... :D Of course UK (University of Kentucky) lost. UK isn't known for its football program...now BASKETBALL, that's another story.

Wendy: What LIS workouts did you try this weekend? What did you think? So, if you give AB a shot, I will too. Deal? I'm thinking I might need some moral support for this torture session! ;) :p

Terina: Fantastic job with Low Impact Challenge! I really enjoyed that one. HUGE fun factor. The pizza was delicious. :D Of course DH got meat lovers but I picked off most of the meat (i'm a pineapple and tomato kinda girl - weird I know :) ).

Hi Wiggie, Barbara, and Erin!

Katie

My name is Katie and I have a rotation obsession. HELP! :D

Things are slowwwwwwwww (and very boring) today at work and i'm just itching to put together my November rotation. Because Cathe is posting not one, not two, but THREE rotations for November i'm waiting on those before settling on a game plan. But, the waiting is driving me nuts. I keep looking at my workout manager calendar and the month of November is so empty and lonely and is crying out for workouts!

I'm starting to think I have a rotation obsession. When I don't have the next month planned out in advance I start to panic.  Intervention time maybe? :p Okay, I feel better now. :)

Katie: I think we both know that I'm the wrong one to intervene, here, lol. (umm...remember DH looking at my calendar that was planned up til Nov. & shaking his head? lol) I've been guilty of checking the forum constantly today, in search of the new rotation, lol. God help us both! :p

Hello All!!
Sunday’s workout was HIIT 15 in the afternoon & M1D11 in the evening with a warm up of skipping rope. Our fridge stopped working so all our meals were takeout, making it hard to eat as healthy as usual. The part needed will be here Tuesday. I bought a small replacement to use until it’s fixed. It’s hard to live without a refrigerator. This is my recovery week so I’ll be trying out the rest of the new series. You guys have given some great reviews, not sure which one I’ll pick.

Kiki, we made it to recovery, woo hoo!!

Wendy, I’m trying to get back on track!! Did pretty good Sunday & today.

Katie, I don’t know if I can help, I have rotation ADHD!! I have a hard time sticking to one!

Erin, I feel your pain, I have been stuck for the last several weeks myself!

Kris, good job on trying LIS, you’ve already done half of them, I need to catch up!

Hello, Barb, Bridget, Terena & Tracy!!

Yes Erin, I did spin this morning- and it was tough- still feeling the afterburn from AB on Saturday, deep, deep within my tushie, it wasn't easy to go out into the frozen snowy cold & drive to the Y this morning and plant that sore bottom on a spin bike- there is always a voice in my head that tells me to stay in bed, but I am like a robot- it has become such a habit to me, before I know it, my HR monitor is in the 150's and I am sweating buckets!

Today I started my 3 12-hour shift week- so I am off on Tuesday & Wednesday, then work Thurs & Friday. I may do a Yoga workout tomorrow

Erin- did you feel the joy when you spun? Where do you spin at?

Wiggie- sorry bout your fridge- ours did that last year, it was only 9 years old at the time, seems they dont make stuff that lasts any more.

Katie- Pumpkin pie brownies?!? I'm sorry about your team this weekend- love Football in the Fall!

Kiki- I'm still sitting on my afterburn! OUCH! Well worth the owie though

hi Wendy, Kris, Terena & Barbara

Bridget

Hey Ladies!

Sorry for goin' MIA y'day. Bad day. :(

On a good note though I got BR's :eek:Burpee Fusion:eek: done before the day went to hell in a handbasket. :p

No work out today though. Oh well. I'm done getting riled about it. It's just the way my life is right now and I am going to learn to accept it....This too shall pass, right?

Bridget:: Good job getting your sore buns on that spin bike! Best of luck with the new shift at work.

Wiggie:: Oh no! Your fridge broke? Join the club coz my washing machine stopped working over the weekend.

Erin:: M1 just about done? That's great news! It was such a sense of accomplishment for me to finish a meso when I did STS. Keep up the good work!

Kiki:: WOW. Thanks for the rave review of AB! You are right! Now I need to try a premix sooner then this weekend! Tmrw perhaps?? ;)

Katie:: So you loved the barre work out that much huh? Makes me happy cause I am very curious about that one!!! Over this past weekend I tried Athletic Training and Slide and Glide. I enjoyed them both! Wow you must be telepathic or something coz After Burn was EXACTLY my plan for Saturday!!!! There IS a small glitch now though...Miss Kiki is urging me to try it sooner by way of a shorter premix so I'm seriously considering doing this tmrw now! Care to join? Do the whole thing if you wish! Then this weekend I will try Turbo Barre!!!;) Yes, no or maybe so? :D

K, I think that catches me up just in time to take a shower...

Good morning Everyone!!

Monday's workout was 15 minutes on the rebounder, Low Impact Challenge, then 10 minutes of skipping rope. I have alot of moves to work on, I should have previewed it a couple of times. I'll probably try it again tomorrow, I usually keep at it until I get it right.

Wendy, sorry you had a bad day yesterday, hope today's much better. And sorry we have so much in common right now!!

Bridget, your dedication is inspiring!! If you can travel through snow to go workout, I have no excuses!!

Have a great day Everyone!!!

Good morning everyone -

How are you ladies doing this a.m.? Yesterday was a day off - not really a planned day off, I intended to do something, but wasn't sure what - since my legs really felt like they need a rest - ended up being a total rest. This a.m. isn't starting off on plan either - we'll see what I can do later. I am planning to do the LIS November rotation - which starts out with AB, not sure that I'm ready for that one again already, though I loved it - tough tough!

Hi Wiggie - great workout for you - I still haven't tried Low Impact Challenge (I'm kind of choreographically challenged, so I tend to put those steppy ones off... ) Great job making it though to recovery week! woo hoo! such a feeling of accomplishment isn't it?

Hi Katie - I'm right there with you looking for the rotation yesterday - couldn't wait to see what the upcoming weeks have in store:) Great workouts for you this weekend! And the pumpkin pie brownies sound delicious!

Hi Wendy - great job getting in Burpee fusion! I need to follow your lead and get something done even if it's not the workout I'd planned - I might not be able to get in an hour long one done, but certainly no excuses for no time for one of your killer workouts!

Hi Bridget - I was still feeling AB yesterday too! Great job getting to the gym in that weather and getting your spin in:)

Hi Kiki - glad you enjoyed AB too! Great to have an alternative to Hiit and CCC. Your description of your husband looking at your calendar for November (back in like June or July wasn't it?) and shaking his head since your workouts were already planned cracks me up:)

Hi Erin - great job getting to the last week of M1! The yoga workouts and TB sound like a great plan during your recovery week!

Hi Terina and Barbara!

Hope you all have a great day!

Kris

Good Morning!

Cathe posted the November rotation. Yay! I was looking the most forward to the LIS/other Cathe workout rotation mix, which of course is the one that didn't get posted, but that's okay. :) I know Cathe is a busy gal! I've set up my November rotation (modifying Cathe's as needed) but i'm a little nervous because my legs are going to get hit a LOT (many days back to back). Maybe that's a good thing... :D

Wendy: I'm so sorry you've had a rough couple of days. It sucks when your workouts become an added point of stress. I think your plan of fitting them in when possible is a good idea. You're right - this too shall pass. :) I've actually got Afterburn scheduled for Thursday! I would do it tomorrow, but Wednesdays are a "short morning" (45 minutes of less). You definitely should give it a go though and let me know what you think. I'm nervous!

Kris: Enjoy your rest day! :) The LIS seems to hit legs a LOT, so no wonder your legs are crying out for a rest. ;) Well, the pumpkin pie brownie turned out to be a bust. I mean, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't fantastic. and for that much work and calories i'd rather just buy a box of Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownies!

Wiggie: Fantastic workouts yesterday! The choreography in Low Impact Challenge is definitely not easy. Great job sticking with it! :) "Rotation ADHD" - hahaha! Love it! :p

Bridget: Wow. I have no reason to complain now about getting out of bed in the morning to workout! I just have to roll out of bed, put on clothes, and go! ;) You're definitely an inspiration! I love football in the fall too. It's become my favorite time of the year. In law school I used to turn on NFL football as "background noise" because it wouldn't distract me from studying. By the time I got to my third year of law school I was watching more NFL football than studying. :D Now i'm a football addict! :p

Erin: Way to get in that spinning! Especially with DOMS! Congrats on (almost) finishing Meso 1! WOOHOO! I think TB and Yoga are great active recovery week workouts. Especially the yoga. ;)

Wow I can't believe that I finally got on here with my phone. We have no power. We might get it by Friday. I have been freezing my butt off. This is so stressful.

My eats hasn't been so great because I can't cook. I am trying my best.

I having done any exercise because of no power and I am just to cold to go walking. Maybe tomorrow. That is it for now. I hope I can get back on here.

Hello Everyone!! My workouts today were 10 minutes 0n the rebounder, Athletic Training then 10 minutes of skipping rope. AT was a very good total body workout with lots of emphasis on the lower body(which I need) & so much fun!! I enjoyed the entire workout. I wasn't sure I was gonna survive the first section, my legs were fried. I will definitely make this one a habit.

Barb, sorry about your power, hope it's already back on.

Goodnight All, sleep well!!

Hello gals!

Today's workout was Slide and Glide. The jury is still out on this workout (for me at least). I liked it, but didn't love it. My wrists were killing me towards the end from all the push-up/plank moves. Hopefully I can build up my wrist strength. More than anything I didn't feel like there was enough of any one thing (cardio, strength, flexibility, etc.). But then again maybe this is just a different way of working out and I need to adapt a bit.

On a different note, i've decided after today i'm throwing out ALL the Halloween candy at work and in my house. I didn't buy a single piece but was given a lot my family and friends. I have completely lost my self control and have been eating candy like crazy. Solution? Toss it! :)

Barbara: Oh you poor thing!! I didn't realize you were hit by that snow storm. EEK! I hope you get power back soon. Don't worry about your eating right now, just do what you gotta do. and stay warm!!!!

Wiggie: Great workouts yesterday! AT definitely hits those legs and hits them hard. ;) I saw a comment from Cathe that the first 20 minutes (or so) of AT is brutal - she was right! :p
