STS Body Rockers - September 2012 :)

Hi there ladies,

Today was S&H - Legs and Shoulders - really "enjoyed" that one too, really felt those slow, slow moves.

Hi Wendy - good question - I don't know when I'll attempt Step Moves again...:rolleyes: It really was not pretty, we'll see, never say never. Wow, Yoga X is long!! What did you do today?

Hi Wiggie - Great job on Step and Intervals! And love the name of the other one! (Mama wants her body back - love that!)

Hi Katie - what are you up to today? Something good and relaxing I hope:)

Hope you all have a great evening,

Kris

Good Morning Girls.

Sorry for being MIA y'day but I was gone most of the day and all night plus I didn't work out so I had nothing to report anyway. Y'day morning I left the house at 9:15 to go up to my mom's house. We went shopping and out to lunch. Came home, had an hour to chill and/or do housework before it was time to pick DS up from school. When we got home I was really tired for some reason so I took a short nap until DH got home and then it was time to head up to my SIL's to observe more training and a class that she teaches. She stopped working around 8 but then we bs'd til after midnight! I didn't get home til after 1am. I am sooooooo tired this morning! :(:(:( A nap is definitely in the cards for me today!!!

Between my DH, myself and my SIL we have come up with a few ideas to hopefully help me break into a career in fitness. They pretty much all scare the cr@p outta me but one but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

1) make a list of all of the gyms in my area (within a 10 miles radius of my home maybe) and take a day to visit each one in person-ask for an application and "sell" myself to try and get any kind of job that I can (except for childcare!!!!) in order to get my foot in the door. My SIL suggested even if they aren't actively hiring to offer to just help out (for free) a couple hours a week to gain some experience and if they like me that will motivate them to hire me when they need someone.

2) Create and film a work out to post on youtube and see how it is received. Next Zuzanna perhaps? ;) I could even give the link to potential employers to view!

3) Put together an outdoor bootcamp class, advertise it and run it in a park.

4) Get my girlfriend (who I've already trained) and atleast one other person to go up to my SIL's with me and do a class or a group training there for practice. My SIL has enough space for up to 6 or 7 people to work out at once depending on the type of exercises you are doing. I, OTOH, barely have room for myself. I trained my GF here but it was tight.

That's my "to do" list! I THINK that's everything! Scarey, huh? Yeah - I'm a little intimidated but I gotta atleast give it a shot, right?

Ok, sorry so long...off to eat and get my yoga done so I can sleep the rest of the day! :p

BBL for personals!

Wendy, I think that is an excellent plan!! You will have no trouble selling yourself. You are more than qualified for this field of work. I know that you will be successful!! I can't wait to follow you on youtube!! Making a living doing something you would be doing anyway, doesn't get any better than that!! :D

Hi girls!

Sorry I was MIA yesterday too. I was working on a tough case at work (sexual abuse of a minor) and was completely caught up in it yesterday. Any case involving a child is tough for me.

I finished up my yoga/relax/recovery week. Yesterday I did Rodney Yee's Power Yoga. I don't mind that one to much. I was a little bored at first and then really got into the workout. Today I warmed up with 4DS: KB and then I did two segments from Namaste Yoga. Loved it! I'm trying to plan my next rotation, fun!

Wendy: Wow, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your fitness-career game plan! You've got some excellent ideas laid out. I sincerely admire you for taking that next (scary) step and following your dreams. If I had to do it all over again, I would have embarked on some sort of fitness career. I can't wait to workout with you on youtube! :p;) I KWYM about "whispy" voices on yoga DVDs. I use the Namaste Yoga workouts as my "lose yourself" yoga routines, so I don't mind the whispy voice. It actually helps me concentrate on just my breathing and the movement. I often find myself closing my eyes and just listening to the voice. Now if I wanna work, screw the whispy voice and give me some get-old Bob yelling any day! :D:p

Kris: Hehehe, so glad you "enjoyed" your leg workout. ;) You've inspired me to give S&H another go, so i'm adding to my next rotation. Thanks for that! I've never done the original Body Max; let me know what you think of it! I agree with Wendy in that Step Moves is a lot of fun once you get the steps down. It's my "go to fun" step workout.

Wiggie: Nice workout mix yesterday! It sounds like so much fun. Now that you mention it, I think I recorded some Namaste Yoga workouts from fittv too! I hope I can find them because, like you mentioned, the DVDs are a wee bit pricey.

Katie:: Phew! Sooo glad you said in your post below that you finished up your recovery/yoga week cause well...I'm kinda sorta cheatin' on mine tmrw morning! *closes eyes tight n ducks to avoid fist coming at her* LOL My SIL who is helping me with the whole getting a job in the fitness industry thing is holding a class tmrw morning that I want to take. I still plan on doing yoga later in the day though if that means anything! :p And I did 3 days of yoga with NOTHING else added to it PLUS I had a complete rest day in there too so I think I did good, no? ;) I've looked at Rodney's yoga over n over but can't decide if I would like his style or not. What do you think?? Yikes, re the sex abuse of a minor case you were working on. That has to be sooo tough to handle! Kudos to you! I have an acquaintance (a friend of a friend of a friend ) who is a police detective and she was assigned to the department that deals with crimes against kids. She said it was really hard to deal with it at first and I'm sure it never gets completely easy. :(

Wiggie:: Wow, thanks for the vote of confidence girl! :D I wish I had that much confidence in myself!

Kris:: Glad you enjoyed S&H. I did one 3 week rotation of it when I first got it and never used it again. Is your DH back from Texas yet??

Good Morning and TGIF Ladies!:D

Making the trek north in a bit to take that 9am trx/kettlebelll class at my SIL's this morning! If all goes ok I will be trying to take a few of those groupon TRX classes next week. I am considering doing a few Insanity work outs next week too! If I disappear from the boards at some point, call an ambulance! LOL :p

BBL!

Good morning!!

Wednesday was a rest day, Thursday's workout was Body Rev #10. It's only 30 minutes & I had planned to do two of them, but I was tired so I only did one. I went heavy on the weight work. She mixes weights & cardio.

You're welcome Wendy! :) I might join you on the Insanity workouts, every now & then I throw one in the mix.

Katie, I hear you on cases involving children, that's how I feel when we have to pick up a child.

Kris, I haven't done Step Moves or Athletic Step in a while, I need to pull them out.

Have a great day All!! ;)

Hello Ladies...

So I went to my SIL's and took her TRX "class"...and um...well....fantastic work out but...I kinda sorta got sick and had to stop early (after about 30 minutes). I got extremely nauseus, light headed and thought I might pass out. It was AWFUL!!!!! Thankfully it didn't last but maybe 10-15 minutes but I was NOT working out anymore! I am sure I probably pushed too hard and possibly didn't eat enough (I ate breakfast at 7 and we didn't start working out until 9:30). I usually atleast have a piece of fruit right before a work out if I didn't recently have meal but this time all I had was coffee...Not shying away though! Still going to try the groupon classes and may go back up to give it another go with my SIL as well. In fact, I already looked em up online and I am going to have DH check where the studs in the walls in the work out room are to see if we could attach the anchor and I can get me one of my own for Christmas maybe!;):D

Wiggie:: Ok, it's a deal! ;) Good job working out even though you were tired!

Anyone else wanna join the Insanity party? :p

Dinner is almost ready so gotta jet but I'll be back ITAM!

Hi ladies,

Late and quick check in for the last couple days - yesterday was S&H Biceps and triceps and abs, today was To The Max 30/20 Hiit Premix. Great workouts, arms are sore today from S&H and TTM PM was a good sweat (gotta admit though to using a shorter step than Cathe for those jumps onto the step... really want to keep my teeth  )

Hi Wendy - I LOVE the ideas you have about getting into the fitness business - you are so committed and inspiring, you will do great in whatever you decide to do - there is no doubt! Great job with the TRX workout - sounds crazy tough! My hubby is still in Texas, he'll be here for a long weekend in a couple weekends though :)

Hi Katie - wow - that sounds like a tough case with your work! ((Hugs)) Great yoga workouts for you!! Glad I inspired you with the S&H workouts - I really liked them.

Hi Wiggie - Great job with Body Rev - and woohoo on working out when you're tired! Awesome job!

Talk to you in the a.m.! Have a great evening everyone,

Kris

Hi girls! Happy Saturday. :)

GUESS WHAT, GUESS WHAT! I ran my first 5K this morning. :D Okay it wasn't a real race or anything. I came up to my parent's house after work yesterday and stayed the night, so this morning I went running in their neighborhood. I thought I ran about 2 miles but I drove it afterwards to check the mileage and found out I ran 3.2 miles. It was my first time running outside in years and the hills about did me in.:rolleyes::p I've never been much of a runner and i'm just so proud of myself. I'm still kinda slow (it took me 35 minutes to run the circuit) but hopefully if I keep at it I can pick up a little speed. Okay, i'm doing singing my own praises now.:p;)

Wendy: You're forgiven for skipping out on the rest of your yoga week. :p;) Oh no!! So sorry to hear about your experience yesterday. I've only had that happen once or twice, but I completely understand the feeling. I think you were smart to stop exercising and to let your body recover. Next time you'll know better what to expect and you'll rock it! I'd join the Insanity party, but I don't have Insanity. I'll cheer from the sidelines. ;) I like Rodney Yee's yoga style, but I don't love it. I probably won't buy another Rodney Yee DVD unless I just find one super cheap.

Kris: Hi there gal! Tough workouts!! I find the TTM HiiT segment very challenging! I don't blame you a bit for using slightly shorter step. A few times when I wasn't 100% on my game I almost fell on my face trying to make those jumps.

Wiggie: Nice job with Body Rev! Sometimes 30 minutes is all you need, especially if your body is telling you to stop. Did you see Cathe's recent article about how 30 minutes workouts can be enough? I was kind of glad to see that article actually!

What fun plans does everyone have for this weekend?

Good morning ladies,

Just a quick note to tell you all to have a great weekend! I am headed out shortly for errands and I go to Minneapolis tomorrow for work (leaving at about 4 a.m....), I fly back Monday night, and then looks like a crazy work day Tuesday too so I may not be back on until Tuesday night or Wednesday. So, I guess I'm starting a couple of rest days.

Katie - yay on the 5K! Great job!!!

Take care!

Kris

Hello Ladies.:)

Well, I was supposed to go to the gym with DH this morning and run but we were being lazy and never got motivated until about 11am. By then it was too late to go together coz babysitting closes at noon and we never would've been done by then so told DH to go and I'd exercise at home. Here's what I did...

30 min Leg, Kickbox and Core Circuit:: I made it up myself as practice for the future. ;)

30 mins of Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga. :)

So OMG, my upper body is soooo sore from the TRX! My lower body pretty much felt fine...until I started exercising that is and then OUCHEES! LOL :p

We are off to Kohl's in a bit to buy DS new sneakers. He ripped the toes of his up learning how to ride a bike over the past few weeks. Those are now dubbed his biking riding sneakers and now he needs good ones for school. I think he did it on purpose just to get a new pair!;):D:p

That's all for now...BBL!

Hello Ladies!:)

Fly by check in! Did Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit this morning, then Church. Now we are off to the horse races for the afternoon! FUN! :D

BBL or in the morning!

Hi all,

My original plan was to do Slow & Heavy this week but as I perused my workout DVDs this morning I realized I bought, but never tried, Cathe's Pure Strength workouts. So I decided to give them a go, starting with Back, Biceps & Abs today. Loved it! Straightforward, heavy lifting. Cathe doesn't give much of a break between sets, so I couldn't lift as heavy as I hoped. With that said, next time I do this series I think i'll increase my weights but add longer rests, just to change it up. :)

Kris: Thanks so much for your kind words. :) Safe travels!!! Enjoy your rest days. You know I LOVE LOVE LOVE rest days! :D

Wendy: Excellent workouts little lady! I LOL @ your son's shoe debacle. :p I must admit it sounds exactly like something I would have done as a kid. ;) Did you have a good time at the races today? As a Kentucky girl I love going to the races! :)

Good Morning. :)

I came home a pretty big winner from the races y'day! Woot! :D It's not a TON of $$ but let's just say that I might be buying a TRX for myself instead of waiting to get it as a gift! ;)

WOW was I SORE y'day! I think it might be a bit better today. Time will tell....I actually thought PCC might make it worse but it doesn't seem that way at this point...

Today's work out plan is to do a long yoga this morning and then hit the gym w/DS for a run around 4pm. DH is not going to be around. He is going fishing after work so we might as well do something!

Kris:: I hear you about jumping on the step. I only recently got brave enough to use more then one set of risers for that kind of thing! I always envision a loss of teeth when I do that as well!

Katie:: Glad you enjoyed PS so far. It's a great series! Effective with out being a huge time committment or needing tons of equipment. TY for your Rodney review. Congrats on your new long run (5k)!!! Awesome job! Now you can enter races!!!! :D

BBL!

Today's workout was Tracey's Cardio Kickboxing Challenge. Still liking the workout! :)

Does anyone us a foam roller? My hip and IT band are really sore from Saturday's running extravaganza. I've been toying with the idea of a foam roller for awhile, but now I really think I need to get one. Any thoughts on the size, density of foam, etc.?

Wendy: Yay for your winnings! That's very exciting, especially considering you can get a new "toy" now. ;) Thanks for your thoughts on PS. Short but effective, now THAT'S my kind of workout! :D What yoga workout did you decide on for today?

Hello All!!

I had Bailee all weekend so that means Turbo Fire all weekend!! :p That’s the only workout she really likes to do. She loves the music on those dvds. I tried to post over the weekend, but my computer loads so slowly sometimes I just don’t have the patience to wait! :(

Wendy, sounds like you were pushing a little hard. I’ve never taken a TRX class but it sounds intense. Congrats on the $$$!! Great way to to finance new toys!! :D

Katie, you sound like Kris with the unopened dvds, I am always excited to do a new workout!! I usually try it the moment I get it. The only way I won’t is if it doesn’t look good.

Kris, hope you had a safe trip!! I know you can not wait til DH gets home!!

“See” you tomorrow!!

"Hey Hey Hey!" (Can anyone tell me where that is from?? :D )

Back to report my run is done to the tune of ITread #26/30 mins. I also did abs - some via machine, some on a mat with a med ball. Good stuff!:)

Now I just need to decide between a groupon TRX class, weights at home or Insanity for tmrw. Anyone care to voice an oppinion on what I should choose?;)

Wiggie:: You mean Bailee doesn't do yoga?? :p I hear you on slow loading computers. I've had my share. Sooooo aggravating!!!!!! So hey the gal who bought Fat Free did about 45 mins of it on Friday and it enjoyed it! YAY! Now another Cathelete says she is going to buy it b/c she checked out the link to it that I posted on FB after I did it today and she said it looks good! :D If I was actually TRYING to sell this stuff though, it wouldn't work! Go figure!

Gotta grab some dinner now so BBL or tmrw!

Morning!:)

Well, I had decided to give the groupon TRX class a go today but ofcourse now the weather is supposed to be awful and I really don't want to be trying to find this place in driving rain and wind so it's going to have to wait. The next class is offered on Thursday so fingers crossed that I can make it to that one instead!

That being said, I've decided that today will be yoga and weights and tmrw will be yoga and Insanity. :D

That's all for now...back to drinking my coffee. BBIAB!
