Hopefully everyone is busy enjoying their weekends. I did IMAX 2 this morning and besides that I have been relaxing. DD has a friend from the old neighbourhood over to visit and DS is over in there visiting friends.

Cendrine I should really explore the online option as well. I love having the photo albums but hate doing them. I'm about a year behind on my scrapbooking.

Rachael I sure hope you're feeling better! So you went to work even not feeling well??

Cathe posted her June rotation already. Better early than how's it's often late. The first 3 weeks look good and the last week week looks really hard! I think I'll do it but I have 3 days left on the May rotation. How come every rotation has IMAX 2 and KPC on it????

Waving hi to Jo and Patricia!

Kim - you love Imax 2 what are ya complaing about:p:p I notice she doesn't use Kickmax or even the high step circuits too much. I just posted on last weeks thread.

I finished my first album online yesterday and found a 50F% off coupon, so I ordered it right away! I figured this is my experiment and once I see how well it looks on paper, I'll decide if I'll keep going. You sure can't beat the convenience, and I was much quicker, and because you can shrink and blow up each pic any way you like, you can do a whole lot more on one page, you can even slap a pic in the middle and have it overlap from right to left. I still have a mini store worth of albums and accessories I bought a long time ago... hopefully I'll get to them I someday...

Patricia, yay that your floor and tv are set up! How fun! I find portion si;)zes is my biggest challenge as well, I try to servemyself on small plates and not go back for seconds... works great sometimes...;)
Can you pm me with your email address, then I can email you the green smoothie recipes. I just gave them to a neighbor who wanted her kids to eat greens. She is doing them every day now even for herself and her parents!

Rachel, I hope you are alll better!

Jo do you still have midterms?

Golly, I feel like I’ve been away forever! My week turned out like this: 2 midterms, 1 quiz and 2 papers; and yes and of course I had to go to work! Whaddup with that? LOL! I don’t mind telling you I was a little STRESSED OUT! Sigh… But, I got through it all. Then yesterday it started all over again! So I’m over half way now and this week should be better. Of course you know the biggest problem was that as soon as I decided to take these 3 classes I got busier at work and have had to put in more hours! Also, I had to sign up for next session Friday so I dropped back down to 2 classes for the remainder of the summer. That will affect me finishing in February but I think I should back off (maybe…) I’m going to go talk to my advisor this week to get the low down on the class load of these classes. Cendrine, we’re a pair on pushing ourselves! :p;)

SS went camping for the weekend with a buddy so he’s gone until tomorrow night and DH just left to go do a few things at the office so I’m going to work on my research paper. Remember way back when I said whenever I had to do a research paper I would do GMO’s? Well, I was going to but already had some research done on obesity prevention and reversal so decided to do that instead. Also, because of the requirements of the research, I can get more credible information from government sources on obesity because they have statistics so I think that may be a better choice for my overall grade. Now I just want to get this done! Of everything I’ve taken, writing is the most challenging for me although I’ve gotten full points on my papers. This writing class has stressed me out the most. Although I have to admit I wrote a paper called “My morning run” which my professor loved and I got full points on it. As the title indicates, I described going for a run first thing in the morning. He told me he got lost in my descriptions! I couldn’t ask for better feedback than that! :D

Now regarding me - yep, I completely recovered from the Ibo incident! LOL! Except I still have one booboo on my right wrist (bad shoulder arm) but it’s almost healed. I don’t think I have anything else of interest here as my nose has been stuck in tests, books and research! Oh, last night (mind you it was only in the 50’s yesterday) DH and I grilled salmon and veggies (leeks, sweet potatoes, onions, yellow and orange peppers and celery). I put a light coating of olive oil on the veggies and sprinkled them with smoked paprika and a little seasoning salt. They were awesome!

Cendrine, I’m so anxious to hear how the treatments are going to go for you. Won’t it be great to get back to feeling physically sound! It sounds you have a couple of budding fish in your house! LOL! That’s great the kids are enjoying their lessons. That restaurant sounds right up my alley! I think I’ve turned into a vegetable! LOL! :)

Kim, I’m glad the dinner was not as emotional as you thought it might be. Hopefully yes, you can put all this behind you now. The bathroom incident would really make me mad! Why can’t people do what they say they are going to do? Ugghhh! What a coincidence about the floor plan? That made me think a while back when I was at moms I ran in to a GF who we’d been best buds our sr year of high school. We were driving the same car, wearing the same brand jeans and our DH’s had the same vehicles. A frozen kindle??? Ohhh…that would be so frustrating!

Rachel, oh my goodness I hope you’re feeling okay! I’ll bet that is food poisoning! I know this doesn’t sound good but one good remedy is trying to drink a warm coke (or part of one). I don’t know what it is but it’ll either make you throw up or settle your stomach down. I have to watch Ibo on the stairs too. He’s almost tripped me a couple of times so I make sure and always let him go first. DH took him in Saturday and bathed him at one of those do-it-yourself places and he’s all frisky and smelling good. Don’t work too hard today! :D

Patricia, I’m so jealous about your flooring! ;) You lucky lucky girl! While you were turning on you’re a/c, I was turning on the fireplace! I’m still waiting for springtime here! We’ve had a couple of good days and it may warm up later this week, but not yet! That’s great that you got some notebooks to journal your food. I think that’s one of the keys to staying on track with a new plan.

Okay, I think I’m pretty caught up. Thanks everyone for being so understanding but I want you to know I hate it when I don’t get to post! I always look forward to chatting with you all! So yes, if I miss a few days, don’t think I’ve abandoned! I’m off to the shower and then to the online library! Research awaits me! :D:):p;):D:):p:cool:

Happy Memorial Day to all that celebrated it...Just another day at work for me. There were alot of people there so it did not feel like we were the only ones missing out on holiday celebrations.

OK so I did go to work on Saturday. I started feeling better and we left sort of late. It was around 8ish. After we got there though, I just felt exhausted. DH was tired too but his was just lack of sleep. He has a hard time going to sleep at night. So anyhow when we got home, I was going to try and stay awake and he went to sleep almost immediately. That was about 3. He stayed in be until the next morning 9!!!!!! I went to sleep about 6 and got up at about 6! I think we were both in need of some sleep. THe next day I felt 100% better.
I think he did too. He was bouncing around the house with endless energy...Imagine that. LOL

So I am not really working out this week. I have been having pain in my hip joints ever since I had the sore back. It has been making it a little difficult to sleep too so I thought I might give myself the week off and just do light things like abs and maybe a little warm up and stretching.

Jo-I hope you are able to find the magic class load for yourself. I can not imagine the stress you were under the last month and still handling like a real trooper. LOL I think the only thing that ever gets ou down are those darn headaches.
I had never heard that coke thing but I will have to try and remember that. Most of the time we do not have coke here but dh did happen to have one in the fridge that day.

Cendrine-That was quick on the album. Maybe you could snap a photo when you get it so we can kind of see how they turn out. I hope it is a good option. Just think how easy it could make it for you to keep up with the kids growing.

Kim-I haven't looked at the rotation yet so I am not sure if I am doing it...but you know how I get sucked in. LOL
I was maybe thinking about doing the first meso of STS for a month but I have to look at the rotation first and see how my hips are feeling. I think she puts IM2 and KPC in all the time because everyone loves them. There are so many though that don't ever get in the rotation.

Patricia-How fun to have your floor in. That is exciting. I love having my gym room. When I used to have to haul everything out and in it would just end up staying out. LOL

OK off to find some grub. Have a great night.

Got home from work early and decided to do Muscle Endurance (switched it with HR, as I couldn't get ME working earlier in the rotation and I got it going now) and of course half way through, the plumber showed up:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Patricia Are you trying out the new gym floor??? The new rumours are the Jets announcement will happen tomorrow!:D

Cendrine I think I should really look into online scrapbooking.

Jo Good to hear from you. Take care of yourself!

Rachael So glad that you got caught up on your sleep. Enjoy your well deserved rest week!!!

Hi Gals

It's late so real quick post. Started moving my gear into my w/o room this evening and did MM tonight and the funny thing is Cathe's purple outfit matches my walls:D

I posted pics on my album but they're private so I've sent out "be my friend" invites.

Off to bed as I'm tuckerd. TTYL

Has just a few spare minutes to say hi on this hot hot hot day!

Going out on a site tour shortly put I think most of it will be indoors not that I'm complaining about the sun after all this wet weather we've had the last few months:eek:

Kim - I made that comment about KickMax not in Cathe's rotations b/4 I looked at her June one and there she put it in!:p I saw briefly last night on the news the decision for the Jets comes down today. Well, between that and the play-offs starting this week its an exciting time for Canadian hockey fans:p

Cendrine - yea, send us a photo of the album if you can. I'm really scared of losing all my pictures. I save them on my laptop and still keep them on the memory cards but I don't completely trust how long things can be saved on digital. Even burning to a CD is a guarantee as they disintegrate over time I think. We must print out them I think at the end of the day....

Rachel - sleep. What's that??? I saw you're workout room in your album - looks fantastic!

Jo - no way could I go to school and work at the same time. I'm in accounting and I've done some night classes - math is ALL homework - never a break from it. If I never saw another classroom I'd die happy:p I get enough continuing education here at work. This past year I've done Powerful presentations (2 days of learning how to prepare speeches etc.) and a Writing course (all taught in house here). Enough already!

The gym floor I had installed is called: Polyfloor Sport 67

Here is a link:Polyflor | Sport | Sport 67, Sport 80,

Yea Tuesday!
We had a great day today at work and managed to still get home a little earlier than normal. So I came home and whipped up a quick dinner of sweet potatoes, steamed kale, and black beans with onions peppers and mushrooms. YUM
OK another kale question...I have up until this point only sauteed it. Then it seemed like I did it perfect one time and all the other times it has been touch and go. Never getting that same tenderness that it had the first time. It there a trick or is it supposed to be a little tough. Today I tried steaming it and it seemed like it was still tough and I felt like I steamed it too long?...I know for sure either Jo (kale queen;)) or Cendrine (queen of healthy and still tasty;)) can help me out with this,

Patricia-How hot is it exactly? It is in the upper 90's here and I can't imagine yall being that hot but I did see where the upper east coast was experiencing really high temps so I hope yall are not getting the same. We are used to the heat but normally it is about 10 or so degrees cooler which really does make a huge difference.

Kim-LOL on the untimely plumber...Isn't that always the way:rolleyes:

Cendrine and Jo- Hope yall are having a great day.

THE JETS ARE BACK! We spent the evening down at the street party to celebrate. The city is super excited!

Kim - are you out dancing in the streets with the big hockey news:p You finally got your hockey team:p

Cendrine - I got your email and I like the look of the recipes. I'll try one 1st to see if our blender will blend it well enough - it's on it's last leg. Years ago I used to do a lot of juicing. I still have my Champion Juicer - even though it hasn't been used in a few I refuse to give it up. I know one day I'll get back to using it.:)

Rachel - I've never cooked with Kale yet so can't help you out there. (psst - it was included in one of Cendrine smoothie recipes so I might get familiar with it:D) I think it got up to 34C today which is about 93F in your language. My w/o room gets the afternoon evening sun so I find it better to wait until 8pm or so to start my w/o after the sun starts to go down.

Tonight after dinner DS and I rode our bikes to the water park just a couple blocks away. It had been working all day but shut off just before we got there:mad: So we came back home and the neighbours were out playing so I got our water guns out and we started up a street water gun fight:p

After putting DS to bed I did Step Blast - the 1st 2 combos then Ab circuit - med ball premix. Just no gas in the engine this evening. DH has been home sick with a cold the last 2 days and I think I'm picking it up:(

So off to make my lunch for tomorrow and hitting the hay!

Congratulations Kim! I can feel the excitement in your post!! YAHOOOOOO !!!!! :D:p:D:cool::):D:D

Patricia I just saw the notification so I'll go accept and take a peak at your pictures! LOVE pictures!! Last summer I decided to go back to school which has greatly affected my working out schedule but the 6-Monther Alumni (yes of all YOU) have been supporting me through this. So it's already been a year (can you guys believe it?) and if the stars align I'll be done in less than a year! I never thought I'd do this and am actually amazed what I've pulled out of my hat - motivated I guess!! LOL!

Rachel, let's talk kale - do you know what kind of kale you're steaming? There's different varieties and some are tougher than others. The varieties I get are a dark grass green and red kale that's similiar but the leave ends are red. But when I make chips I get the kind that is very thick almost leathery and it's kind of a blue green color. If that's what you have, then yes, it's tough! Make chips with it! LOL! Generally when I steam the regular kale, it gets soft but not wilty like spinach. Sometimes if the leaves are really big I find they are sturdier or tougher than smaller ones. So if that's your problem, look for kale that have a little smaller leaves as they'll be more tender. Hope that helps you some. Also, when I make my kale salad with sundried tomatoes and calmata olives, I just steam the kale for 3 minutes and it's perfect but again not as wilty as spinach. Still has a nice texture to it. Boy I'm having a kale moment! Have you read enough from me? LOL!

Hidy Ho Cendrine!!

Okay, off to work on my paper!

Yay Kim, I am happy for you guys, celebrate!
Of course the guy had to come in the middle of the workout, they have a sensor that tells them when to come!

Jo, I totally second your input on how to prep Kale, that's generally what I do, unless I throw it into a soup and cook it really long or in a smoothie and blend it. When I do make salad with raw kale, I generally let the dressing marinate with the kale for at least a half a day to kind of help soften the leaves. I think the tough ones you are talking about are the lacinato kale, which is my favorite because it is easier to clean.... LOL! But Rachel, I have a book that tells how to prep and cook it, I'll check that and see if there is anything else we are forgetting.

Patricia, I can't believe how hot you guys have it! We are in southern California and have had temps of 77° if that.... Something is going around here too as far as colds go, I think the kids picked it up at the pool last week. So far so good, I haven't caught it and don't intend to! LOL!

Keep your fingers crossed, tomorrow I go in for my first spinal decompression treatment!

Thank you thank you thank you for all the kale talk. Jo, I think it is the grass green kind. That is the only kind available around here right now. Maybe one day we will get a really cool grocery store that has all kinds of cool stuff to eat. LOL Yeah right.
Well this will be a quickie for me. Dh and I are kicking butt on this job but that does make for a late night for me tonight. It is almost 7 and not even showered yet.
Still just stretching in the mornings. This morning it was the p90 stretch. Do I have to say again how much Tony Horton gets under my skin.haha I don't think I will ever do p90x.

Jo-I think I speak for all of us when I say how proud and impressed we are with you. You are just amazing with all that you are doing!

Cendrine-Thanks for the extra look for the kale prep. I just want to prepare it right plus I want to make it for my friends so it would be nice to get it right for them.

Kim-I am so happy for you that you are getting your hockey team. It just did not seem right that yall have to endure such a cold winter and you didn't even have a hockey team!LOL

Patricia-I can not believe we are almost sitting at the same temps. What a wacky weather world we are livin in right now.
I hope the blender works. Mine broke a while back and I have yet to replace it. I am holding out for a vitamix, I think.

OK dirty , must shower, then read myself to sleep.

Have a great Thursday!

Rachel, the only thing my book said was to cut the leaf about 1/2 inch and the stem about 1/4 inch in proportion, so that both get cooked at the same time since the stems are a bit thick. It says to steam for no more than 5 min and that the thinner you cut the quicker it cooks.

My first session went well I think. A bit early to tell, I guess, but the good thing is I'm not worse! LOL!

Going again tomorrow and then Saturday for a total of 3 times this week. No workouts at all for the first two weeks...:(

The physical therapist did some pretty thorough assessing of my muscles and is going to help strenghten some parts of the back muscles, apparently the core is in good enough shape....:D Hamstrings are a bit tight... knew that.

Hi all!

Rachel - there is a good thread over on VF today about the Vitamix - it almost had me convinced to go out and buy one:) Well, I started P90X 2x and made it about 1/2 way through. I have to watch my rotator cuff and it was agravating it along with playing baseball at the same time, then along came STS and P90X was history...

Cendrine - So glad to hear your back session went well - I know its sooo hard to take a break but I'm sure your back will appreciate it. How about some walking? LOL about the abs.

After dinner we went to the park and flew a kite DS had gotten at a b.day party this weekend. 1st time for him so he was excited. Home and got in my w/o - Jackie Warner Power Circuit - 40min TB no cardio and that was enough for me - still dragging my heels with this cold. I have Baseball tomorrow night. That's an active rest night for me - depends how well I hit and if I even tough the ball in the field:)

I just did a big long post and it disappeared:confused::confused:

Oh we were dancing in the streets! I think some people might still be dancing;);) I'm happy but DH and ds are ecstatic!!!! It may sound crazy to some but when they took our professional hockey league and moved them to the desert:confused: the heart and soul went out of this city. We are a fairly isolated, very cold, smaller city with a strong hockey history. In the last 15 years, hardly a week went by without somebody talking about getting the team back. This city is on such a high, it's unbelievable.
We have our season tickets, since the company DH works for has a luxury box at the arena they have first shot at the season tickets.

Patricia HOpe you're feeling better soon, seems to be lots of people at work with bad colds. That water gun fight sounds like fun! Has ds found some friends around the new house?

Jo Less than a year!!! That's exciting.

Cendrine So do they tell you how long in the treatments, before you will notice improvements?? That's so great that you were able to start right away.

For all you Kindle owners, amazon start a "sunshine deals" sale today, with some good books. I've become obsessed with buying books. I think I have 52 books on my Kindle already. DD has taken to checking when I'm on the computer to see if I'm buying more. I read that Kindle owners can share books, has anyone tried this?

Rachael/Patricia, someone send some heat up here!!!

There is another flurry of emails related to the trial but you will be proud of me that I'm not getting involved. I actually haven't read them all but it's something about the reporter is writing the book on the case wants to interview some of the jurors. Then the jury office sent an email to remind us about what we can't talk about it,etc. It goes on and on. There is no way that I"m getting anymore involved in this.

Patricia-How fun that you play baseball. I would love to do some kind of sport but with work I kind of have a funky schedule so I can never commit to anything. I think that is why I am a stickler for getting up early and working out. I know I can control that.
I have weak shoulders. I noticed this week, just with doing shatarangas (I know I did not spell that right:p) that I got sore in the fronts of my shoulders. That is so frustrating.

Cendrine-It seems like you got a good vibe today though Huh? I really hope this is going to be the answer for you. It is a bummer on working out but just think what an animal you are going to be when you get to get back to it.;)

Well today was a tough work day and I am pooped. So with that said yall know what comes next...shower ,reading then much anticipated sleep!:DTTYT
