~~~STS 6 Month Alumni~~~ Week of May 28th
Kim-We were posting at the same time. I can feel your excitement and I am so happy for you! And I am very proud of you for no more jury stuff. LOL;)
Oh and thanks a ton for the sale info. I don't even know how to find out about that stuff.
'OK gone for sure now.:D
Okay, I wanted to save my post before I lost it again.
I wanted to tell you something. I was riding home with Colin from the "victim impact statement" dinner last week. Colin, is the guy from Ireland that I've mentioned before that was on the jury. I'm driving home from this emotional, long day. It's 11:30 at night so dark. It's a long drive home and he's quite emotional about things. He decides he's going to tell me stories from his past. The first story is that his dad, was part of the Shankill Butchers, which was a offshot of the IRA. In the 1970's this group used to murder Catholic civilians. His dad is in jail and he has only met him a few times, and how much he hates his dad. Then the second story was about when he worked as a mailman. It was early in the morning and him and a fellow mailman were going to work together. At a intersection, his car was surrounded and his coworker was shot. His friend was Catholic and he wasn't shot as he was Protestant.
So here I was in this car alone with this guy hearing these stories late at night. I'm thinking hmm, are these stories true? How well do I know this guy and am I safe? What the heck do I say? This is very bizarre... Of course this came after this dinner at the victim's parents house where I was seated next to two people that belong to same victim's group as the mom and one told me about her dad's murder and the other about her brother's assault.:(
It all started to become a very surreal experience and although they are all very nice people, they are seem to be quite emotional/socially needy. It just seemed weird to meet to so many people that have been involved in some extraordinary circumstances.
ANyways, I came home and googled Colin and I think it's actually all true which explains a little bit about Colin:rolleyes: Maybe that's why he's become way overly attached to this court case. I also think he's obsessive compusive.
Really the bottom line is a need to detach myself from this whole situation. I will stay friendly with my fellow jurors but I don't want to get anymore involved with the family.
Thanks Rachael. Okay, 2 long posts and I forgot too mention my exercise. I kind of finished off the May rotation and I think I may take a few days off. I just feel like I need a break from a scheduled rotation. Yesterday, DH, dd and I just did a long walk around the neighbourhood. Will probaby get going with the June rotation next week or something.
Wow, Kim, sounds like the group had all been involved in something intense or other! I've heard stories like this from Ireland, not a fun time for sure!
I'm glad you are able to distance yourself from the goings on about the case now and get to have some fun with Kindle books and Hockey teams and such!
Patricia, the kite sounds fun, dh just took the kids kite flying last weekend. It's always a fun thing to do!
The water gun fight is something that will be happening around our front yard soon too, I think! Good for you for joining right in!
I have my second treatment behind me. I got some massage, some stretches, then the machine, then some electrical stimulation gizmo that I keep forgetting the name of on my back and some ice. I don't know if it's related but I am having muscle knots on my upper back and neck and am somewhat headachy, I've had this before, so it could very well just be a repeat of that. Anyway, am going to stretch again tonight and tomorrow and then going in for my third session Saturday morning. Some guys that come in are in way worse shape than I am! There is this one guy in particular, very much keeps to himself and is very quiet, he is super slow moving and gets around in a wheel chair, poor guy. I overheard he's a sheriff, though I'm sure he can't be on duty the way he is. I sure hope to see him improve over the course of my time there!
Kim, the Dr said I should see improvements within 3 sessions, so I should hopefully be able to tell by this weekend that things are progressing.
Rachel, enjoy your reading time and well deserved early bedtime! ;)
I'm heading in that direction too! I just got a book in the mail that I bought on a preorder and it took almost a year to come out! I am so looking forward to it, it's historical fiction and the last of 12 in a book series covering the time of Jesus' time on earth. Happy reading!
Kim - yikes on the emotional rollercoaster you've been on. I agree, take some time off from any committed rotation and enjoy a slower pace. Its funny how we all work indoors even now when we should be outside!
Cendrine - fingers x-d you see some results after this weekend. I just love it when a favourite author comes out with a new book. I frequently read "series" so always waiting for the next one and quite often read the book in one sitting:p
So Thursday night was BB - we won:p I played well, got home a few times and got in extra running as I pinched ran for another girl. And of course had to go out for a drink afterwards:p I think I did pretty good considering I was operating on only 4hrs sleep. I woke up at 3am and just could not get back to sleep. I'm really feeling it today:(
My sister makes jewellery as a hobby and puts in tables at craft shows etc., so Saturday I'm helping her at a show. I'll drive to her place tonight so no time to get in any workout. I'll be MIA until Sunday.
Oh yes, Canada Post is on strike and I still didn't get my P57:( I think it's a rotating strike so there is some hope it'll appear soon.
Have a great weekend
OK quick pot for me since I have to go to work today...Booo LOL
I did not get alot of sleep either since my cat decided a good place to dispose of her hair ball was in the bed at 1:45 YUCK! and the greatest part of that was that I had just changed the sheets and blanket when I got home from work yesterday!:mad: If I was looking at it glass half full though I guess I could say at least I had the top sheet and the blanket clean in the dryer and ready for a swap but it still is not the best wake up though. Blagghhh!:p
Patricia-Way to go on your bb game. I have to confess that I have had a beer 2 nights after work this week and both days they were great...lol so enjoy those drinks.
The strike stinks esp. and mostly because of not getting the p57!!!
Cendrine-I know you read up on everything before you do it...I am like that too so I was wondering if your new treatments mentioned any side effects maybe like the ones you are having?
Kim-I would have been creeped out by your friend Colin's story too. Esp. given the whole circumstance of the time and the little you do know him. Now that you have googled him and know it is true though maybe it makes it a little less creepy and that maybe he just felt comfortable enough to share with you. What a terrible history to have, huh?
Jo-I just heard about another book set to read...I will have to get my kindle to remember the name though and see if any one of the book worms here have read it....I think it is going to be made into movies too like twilight and Harry Potter. Since my K is in the bedroom and dh isn't up yet I will come back later to tell though.
Better go get a stretch in before work.
TTYL
Nothing to exciting here. I started the June rotation this morning with 4DS HIS I've been spending lots of time on my Kindle the last few days. I worked yesterday, and it was very busy. I ended up calling security as my 16 yr old patient and her father got into a very loud heated shouting match.:rolleyes: I had no idea what it was all about as it was my first appointment with her but he was escorted out before it got anymore heated. It seems like every time they ask me to do an extra day something happens. Last week it was 99 yr old with no ride home.
We going to a neighbourhood fair this afternoon and this evening we have some friends coming over.
I don't really know anything about P57 workouts, will google it. Hopefully the postal strike is over soon, Patricia so you can get the workouts.
Rachael, just yucky on the hair ball.:eek: Made me cringe.
Cendrine So are you noticing any improvements yet???
