Morning All

Had fun at the street party yesterday. And the great thing is I found 2 fitness enthusiasts - one that even knew about Bodyrock TV and both of them mentioned Tabatha training! One of them was a woman training for the Boston Marathon and I showed her my w/o room and I think I've got her interested in STS. I was wearing my STS t.shirt and she asked what it meant so thats how the conversation started!

Just getting ready to leave shortly for the b.day party.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Yea Patricia...It would be so fun to have some "in person" fitness buddies!
Good luck with ds' bday today.

We made an impromptu trip to beaver's bend national park yesterday. It was a great day. It is only about a 2 hr drive so not too bad there and we got out of the house for a good while. Even though it is super hot, the water is super cold so it was a nice balance.;)

I think I have work tomorrow so no yoga class:( but there will be plenty of time in the future for a Monday yoga class, I am sure.

I hope every one is having a great weekend.

Back from our overnight camping adventure! We had lots of fun, the kids were just loving every minute of it. We had our tent right next to a family with a boy and girl, too, so they hung out for most of the day. We went on two hikes, one of which was a very steep one, but the kids enjoyed it a lot and didn't complain. It was nice not having to worry about the camp fire, everything was taken care of. They have another one of these campouts on labor day, except you have to bring your own food. So we decided to go to that one next, and enjoy planning our own food for the day. Doing this one night campout helped us kind of learn what else we might need to prepare for, buy and bring along to make it a fun camping experience.;) Eventually we would like to go camp in a national park for a week or so.

Patricia, it must have been fun to talk workouts with some one who enjoys them and is interested as well! Glad the party was fun!

Rachel, your outing sounds really nice too! How cold is cold water your over your way? The kids were complaining on Friday when the water was 81°F after a cloudy day which kept the solar panels from keeping it at 86°F ;) Lake water can be so much more cold, though. I remember a little mountain lake we hiked to in Switzerland and the water was about 65°F if that. That felt cold....

Hi Kim and Jo!

HOLIDAYS!!!:D:D:D

We had a great long weekend camping! It was super hot though, mid 90's/mid 30's and no air conditioning in the pop up trailer. we spent alot of time in the water at the beach to keep cool. We had suppers really late as cooking over a campfire when it's so hot isn't fun. At least the nights cooled off so that it was okay for sleeping with all the windows open.

We're home now and DH is at work for Mon/Tues/Wed. I'm so glad that we got the ac in as this heat is supposed to stay all week! In some ways it really limits what you can do, unless you're at the beach/pool it's too hot to do much outside. Since we still live in a construction zone, I wonder how much the guys will work? I think they are going to do the stucco on our house soon and Friday they s tarted work on the field that is supposed to be a park across the street from us.

Our washing machine died last night so I'll have to call a repairman. DS wants to go visit friends in the old neighbourhood and dd and I might go shopping for new stuff for her room. Thursday we leave to go camping again.

No formal exercise while camping we did do lots of walking, swimming but not super intense because of the heat. It was so hot we had to buy ice cream so probably evens out. Last night I did do MMA Boxing after we got home.

Patricia Did you survive the birthday party???? That would be great to have some neighbours who are into fitness!

Rachael Are you at work today? I'm so glad that you got a chance to go for a day away!

Cendrine What a great way to try out camping! There is always so much "stuff" to bring for camping that I always forget something.

Waving hi to Jo! When is your last day of work??

Cendrine - so glad to hear you had a great time camping. Its always fun when the kids get together and hang out. They don't stay strangers for long!

Kim - I hear ya on the heat! It was absolutely disgustingly Hot and Humid here yesterday. We walked to the splash pad in the afternoon and the boys were dry by the time we walked back home. (only 10min walk away) Hopefully your washer is an easy fix. I know labour laws have that you can only work to a certain temperature and then you're sent home. Most construction sites make sure there is plenty of water on hand for the workers too.

Heat is the word all over I guess. It is just so hot here it zaps my energy and I want to do nothing. We have been over 100 for 16 days and no end in sight. It looks like everyone is getting this terrible heat. YUCK, I say.

I did LIC this morning...just the 48 min premix and I even lowered the step to 6 in. instead of 8. I still kind of felt it in the lower back...not pain but a stiffness so it looks like I am still going to be on some restrictions.

Kim-DH wants to go camping so bad but with it still being hot around here ay night too, I told him "no tent for me" I just can not sleep when it is hot. I bet you are so glad for the a/c now. I saw that freak storm at the cheap trick concert this morning on the news. I thought about your DH because I could not remember what concert you said he was going to but I remembered it was an older band. Glad he was not at that one.

Cendrine-This water is pretty cold. It is really hard to get in so I am thinking it is in the 60's. But if you can get in and get moving it is really refreshing. But definitely a shock to the body. LOL
We are getting ready to buy some camping stuff. I am thinking a coleman stove would be a nice addition. I need to google when the best time to buy a tent is. It should be coming up on an off season soon now that summer is already mid way through.

Patricia-Absolutely nothing would get done around here if that temperature thing applied. We have seen poor guys up on metal roofs in this heat! I feel so bad for them.

Jo-I hope things are wrapping up for you!

Off to read. I broke down and got the second book in the hunger games series.

Ugggg, what a hot and humid day 30c and feels like 38c with the humidity (86F/100F for US speak:p). So glad I don't have to work out side.

Got in Circuit Blast after dinner - maybe a little too close to after dinner. Tired today so didn't push too hard and I feel that I've lost some cardio endurance this year as I've been a bit lax on that:eek: I think I only tried this dvd when I first got it and popped it out after the 1st 10min. I'm of two minds about cardio circuit workouts. I never get much of a weight w/o and I guess then it's okay to do another weight workout tomorrow. We've been taught to wait 48hrs but if you're not lifting to failure I don't think it really matters.

Rachel - a coleman stove will be your BEST investment for camping. If you can get one with 2 burners. And don't forget the coffee percolator! If I couldn't get into the Harry Potter books (found them too juvenile (sp?) to read) would I like the Hunger Games?

Ottawa was having a Blue's Fest concert this weekend - winds were so high they knocked over the stage and seriously injured someone. I think with all this heat and no rain the weather doesn't know what to do. It sprinkled here for all of 2 minutes today. No rain the forecast and our lawns are burnt!

Oh, DH is bored at work (he is in between assignments) so he took my Kindle to read and now he says he is addicted! I might never see it again:eek::eek::confused::p

Happy Almost Midnight on Monday! Whew!!!

Friday was my last day. The team honored me right and fixed a giant healthy salad buffet! Lots of greens and fruit and they made some special favorites for me like watermelon gazbaucho (sp?)! Those that prefer junk food (just 2) went and ate fast food before my luncheon. It was really nice. Teary...blurry eyed...hate goodbyes... Whah! But I am also ready to be done!

Patricia quick note on the kindle...I downloaded the kindle app on my iPad and have been using that! I'll elaborate more later, but it's a SWEET read! Nothing beats the kindle in sunlight though! Hey, so we all have Kindles except Miss Cendrine! What's up with that???

Back to me. Trying to get a head on homework as I'm going to go see mom on Thursday for the weekend. New boss called and I have to go in tomorrow afternoon for a dry run on a presentation for which I have to attend on Wednesday. Then tomorrow night is late birthday dinner with a couple GF's that have been out of town. So much for not working today! I've been busier than heck! But next week, I will be back from my mom's and then I will have time before I start new job on the 1st.

I have got to get to bed! So just wanted to give you that quick update. Did I mention I LOVE my spinning shoes and pedals! I DO!

TTYL!

Oh yeah...then Saturday was company picnic which I went to and then Sunday everything caught up with me and I took a 3 hour nap! Let's see I think that's stress, packing up my office, trying to get homework done, threw in a spinning workout and laundry! It was a good nap though! ;)

G'night!

OK quick in and out...We are about to go put on some stringers that just came in..(that is the rubber material that runs up the side of a set of stairs)
It is so great to see your pearly whites Jo. :DDon't you love a good nap.
Patricia, I did not read the Harry Potter books either...I thought that might be the case for me. I think the Hunger Games are for an older age group. I think it has a really good premise to the story. Kind of dark.
Anyhow...better go get this over with. BBL

Rachel

I'll be getting that Kindle one of these days, Jo, now worries... LOL! I'm glad you got a nice farewell from your work! I hope you get to have a nice break before you start your new job!

Rachel, I don't know how you manage with those temps! I would be miserable!

I'll have to tell dh that you and Patricia are voting for a coleman stove... he's looking at stoves for camping too!

Patricia, I've lost cardio capacity too, I need to get back on that bike! LOL but I somehow feel really kind of tired and burned out.... Wonder if it's the summer break or if we have been over doing it for a while...

Well, gotta go, ttyl

Evening Folks

Since its sooo hot we've been hibernating after dinner and the up side is I get my w/o done sooner:p Just did Intensity premix - Hiit (lo) & Bootcamp. Only 35min and then I threw in some extra arm work on my own.

A/C has not been working on my floor at work for the last 2 days so I was glad to go for a site tour this a.m. There was a nice breeze going through the building where we haven't started to close it in with windows.

Cendrine - I think between the heat and a little over doing it along with the fact that at least for me all my energy is between 5-7pm. If I can't get it started by 7 I struggle. Most of my w/os don't start until 7:30 or 8:00pm though:(

Rachel - hope you got it all done with no hiccups.

Jo - are you relaxing yet:p I think its more stressful leaving a job then starting one! DH is talking about getting some sort of tablet for work so I think there might be an Ipad in our future:D He can review drawings right on site with it I think rather than go back to his desk and then send a follow up email - deal with the issue right then & there!

Kim - waving hi on your holidays!

Cendrine, I have lost alot of capacity too. It does not take long...I think mine is a lot of the heat. Even though we are hibernating inside, when you have to go out for any length of time, it totally zaps your energy.

But I also have the "i don't wannas" when it comes to cleaning around here too. Maybe that is because I am stuck in here. My house should be spotless but it really is on the other side of that. I am feeling like Scarlett O Hara...Why do it today if you can put it off till tomorrow:rolleyes:
My eating is going in the tubes these last few days too...Ickk...I really need to get back on track. I think I have had granola or cereal for dinner the last 3 out of 5 nights:eek:...Now that is lazy. LOL

It looks like the down time is starting early this year. It is a little scary to think we are barely working in the summer which is normally when we really have to work 6 days a week to keep up. But I am going to try not to give myself an ulcer about it. As long as we can maintain a few small jobs here and there we will be all right. I know yall all know I am a saver. ;) That's why I have a hard time buying that Vitamix, Patricia. ;) You are going to have to talk me into it when you finally try it out. I am missing my green smoothies.!

OK off to read a little.
Ooops Workout was Muscle Endurance...This week I am trying to get more cardio...without doing the cardio. ;);)

Still plugging along on a modified version of the Feb '10 rotation. So did Hitt 40/20 plus Kick Max Blast Challenge. DH has been working out with me most days lately so that is keeping me motivated. He is often the one to talk me into too it when I'm feeling lazy. Today dd joined us for the Kick Max part as well.

So the washer repairman came at 8 this morning and said the washer wasn't worth fixing:( I kind of figured that as it was cheap and it seemed like the motor. Wish we hadn't bother moving it from the old house. So spent the morning on the internet reading consumers reviews and stuff.

Then took dd mini-golfing, it was so hot! It was 35C with a humidex of 45C It sounds like we're all getting this heat (except Jo??) I don't know how you stand this Rachael? This is something we only have a few days a year, and that's enough! It really zaps your energy!

DS went golfing this morning (9holes) but the minigolf was enough for dd and I. This afternoon I dropped the kids off at MIL's house to swim in her backyard pool and I went shopping for washing machines. What a fun vacation! Okay I also dropped off a load of laundry, she did it and even folded it:eek:

Yesterday dd and I went shopping for her birthday present, she wanted a chair for her room and we got a chaise lounger. It's beautiful! It's on order though and won't be in for 3 weeks. Afterwards we went out for lunch, a very girlie afternoon! Then yesterday evening was Legs & Glutes.

Rachael The stage collapsing was really something! So glad there were no serious injuries! That's out closer to Patricia. DH had been to Leonard Skynard (a Texas band) recently.

Patrica Oh those Kindles are addictive!! Maybe if he gets an iPad he'll get addicted to that instead.

Jo What a crazy life you have going right now!! That lunch sounds like it was a very sweet goodbye! Do you think you will keep it touch with some of your coworkers??

Cendrine We mostly cook over a open fire but sometimes use the Coleman stove, depending what we are cooking. I actually bought a little 2 cup coffeemaker that I plug in to make coffee ( if you have an electrical site), it's just so much easier in the morning and the coffee is better that on the campstove percolator.

I had a nice vacation day today maybe because they kids were gone:eek: DD went to her old school to the daycare to visit her friends. DS spent the morning volunteering at the hospital and the afternoon working for DH. It was just nice puttering around a quiet house. DS is just working a few hours at week at the company where DH works, doing filing and stocking shelves, etc. He got his first every paycheque last week and was so excited!

He goes 1 or 2 mornings a week to the hospital where I work and delivers the newspapers to the patient wards and waiting rooms. My coworkers think he is so cute:rolleyes:

The workout for today was the 4DS Bootcamp cardio and the LIS Upper body/abs. I got organized for going camping tomorrow. We'll be back on Sunday.
Patricia, I hear Toronto will be breaking heat records tomorrow! We're heading out to Ontario for our camping trip.

Kim, did you find a good washing machine yet? A friend of mine's just died too. How fun that ds has summer jobs and that he enjoys getting real paychecks! I still remember when I started working in highschool and I felt so independent and grown up....
Have a fun camping trip, hopefully the weather will be nice!

Rachel, I hope work keeps coming your way so you don't have to worry about that ulcer....;) I chuckled at your commet of trying to do cardio without doing cardio....:p

Patricia, you sure got it hot where you are! I still remember high humidity from my swiss days, it could get so miserable, but here in California it's always dry heat, so I really can't and am not complaining....;)

Guess what I've been doing for workouts lately, other than the excercises from pt? The wii exerbeat with my kids...LOL! It keeps track of your scores by traveling your mii over the world... I've made it from Greenwich to Greece then to Egypt, Morocco, Sahara desert, then south all the way to south Africa, Madagascar then up the east coast of Africa halfway to Egypt...LOL!

Morning All

Finally some relief from the heat! Today is still warm but a little cooler. The a/c was out here at work all week and they finally got it fixed last night so a refreshing change. I've been sitting in the dark in my office with a fan on me all week - it was 33degrees in here:confused:

Had a dentist appt last night so bought a Jugo Juice protein shake for dinner on the way home b/4 the appt. I've becomed addicted to those:D

Didn't w/o Wed. night as it was soccer night for DS but last night I did MM. I forgot how much I enjoyed that w/o and I'm feeling it in my chest and back today:D

Kim - so did you pick out a new washer yet? Fun shopping for the chair I'm sure DD is excited and can hardly wait for the delivery. Both kids must be enjoying their new digs - what with the new furniture and all:D Yep, we broke some records yesterday. How exciting for DS - his 1st paycheque. Did he spend it already:p I think its great getting kids to start working as soon as possible - I notice a difference in the co-op students here who never had to work thru highschool:rolleyes: It was 38degrees before calculating the humidity index :( Have fun camping and welcome to Ontario:D

Cendrine - sounds like you've been doing some travelling:p Great fun. I sometimes think about getting the Wii for the excercise but I'm not certain if DH would do it. He is talking about getting a Nintendo of his own if he starts commuting on the train (well this was b/4 he got a hold of my kindle:eek:) as he is a bit of a video game junkie:(. Nothing seems to motivate him to excercise and the sad part is that when we 1st starting dating he was way too slim and played hockey and cycled and x-country skiid - it all went downhill from there:(

Gotta get back to work

Waving hi to Jo and Rachel.

I'm in Belgium now....lol. dh did some wii last night too because he is left behind in the dust... ds is ahead of me, wnt to scandinavia and is now headed for siberia ;)
I tried out a pilates with band workout this morning, so no traveling for me today;)

Patricia, I'm glad they fixed the ac! That shake place, I wonder if it's a bit like Jamba Juice, down here, good stuff!

Rachel I meant to tell you, if you are going to get a blender of the vitamix price range, I would recommend the blendtec, because it's the same price but can be stored on the kitchen counter under the cabinetts whereas the vitamix is too tall, plus it has more horsepower ;) not sure how the vitamix is for cleaning, but the blendtec is very easyy to clean because the jar is wider at the bottom and has a less swirly blade, for lack of better words... lol!

Well, off to grocery shop...

Popping in briefly. I am down at my mom's - got here yesterday and have not been able to keep a connection! I'll be here until Sunday. Have lots to catch up on.

I spent two days earlier this week at my new job then left for moms. Next week I am home to get cleaning done and have some time TO MYSELF! Then I'll officially start new job on the 1st.

Am trying to get caught up on seeing family this weekend as I know I probably won't be able to get down here again for a while. Am definitely dropping to one class after I finish these two. Speaking of family, my brother just drove up... TTYL!
