Morning All

Just a quick post here. Yesterday was P57 then went to look at a house friends are buying. They asked DH to do the inspection. He didn't give them good news so we're not sure if they're going to still buy the house or not:confused: They've sold theirs and it closes early August so they're getting stressed now as having difficulty finding something they like. All I can say is been there, done that and don't wish it upon anyone else. House buying is so STRESSFUL.

Just finished Cathe's Step Fusion - a light TB workout. I figured since it uses light weight doing two TB's back to back would be okay. I did use 5# to her 3's though:)

BIL has tickets to see the Queens Plate race this afternoon so we're off to that shortly. Dropping DS off at a friends house for the day. We did go and see Cars2 this weekend.

Just going to say hi to everyone now, but will try to pop back in later tonight.

Not much in the workout area to report. Just trying to keep active and enjoy the outdoors. Yesterday DH and I went for a long walk in the neighbourhood, then in the afternoon, DH,dd and I drove out to a local park, went for a short hike and swam at the beach. In the evening the kids and I ended up going for another long walk after dark as it was so beautiful out.

Jo, I have do the cleaning thing today as we're having company for supper.
Got to get myself off the back deck (reading my Kindle) and get some work done. I'm so enjoying having a deck in this house!!

My FIL is in town for the weekend as we had DH's cousin's wedding Friday night. (which was beautiful!) and so FIL, and his wife are coming for dinner. DH's parents divorced when he was quite young and his dad lives on the west coast. He really has very little interest in his family. I have to admit that I'm glad that he only comes into town once a year or so. He talks non stop about only topics that interest him and is always full of wonderful advice:rolleyes: He hasn't seen the house yet and wants to come over to see it which I'm sure he will have strong opinions on:rolleyes::rolleyes:(okay, how many rolleyes, can I do) We will all be polite, nod alot, and then it will be over again for another year, right! Okay, enough about that.

Cendrine I've started a online scrapbook! DD and I spent lots of hours on it yesterday! I needed her as my computer skills are limited! Very frustrating at times, but I think it's just learning how to use the program! The only thing I don't like is I used to add odds and ends (like concert programmes, school pics) that would be hard to scan and add to the scrapbook.
Nothing wrong with buying some pre made meals to lighten the load next week! Are the kids excited??

Rachael I've had quite a lazy weekend as well. That's okay once and awhile. I think I really needed a couple of weeks of nonstuctured workouts but will check out the July rotation, as she often does a timesaver rotation. I saw an ad for P90X2, being release in the fall! What do you think you will do for workouts over the summer?

Patricia HOw did ds like CARS2, I know many of my friend's kids were very excited about it coming out? YOu are right that house buying is so stressful! Is the housing market still hot in TO??
DId you hear that our team name, will be the Winnipeg JETs!!! Lots of happy people here. The NHL draft was Friday night, and DH wanted to watch it so bad but his cousin was getting married! He had ds and my nephew texting him updates which he watched constantly, I told him he couldn't check during the ceremony but I did catch him checking once!

Jo So have you been back to cycling class yet now that you have some freedom??

101...Yep that is the temps outside today...anyone want to trade places with me. LOL With that said we are just doing alot of nothing in the house all weekend. I got my grocery store things over with early so we wouldn't be out in the worst part of the day. I know, I am sorry I am starting to sound like a broken record.:D

I took the whole weekend off so I am ready for this last week I think it is alot of total body work so it is probably gonna be a tough one.

Patricia-When DH and I first got together we moved like once a year. granted we were really young and of course we were renting and we did not have any thing really worth moving. LOL But I am happy to say I think we are where we will live forever from here on out (keeping my fingers crossed) I agree house buying is super stressful...it would be alot better if everyone gave full disclosure  But unfortunately the world does not work that way, right. haha

Kim-It sounds like you are really enjoying the weather and exploring your new neighborhood. I love being outside and don't blame you one bit for opting for those less structured workouts. I am sure it is alot easier to talk with dd, dh, or ds when walking through the neighborhood;) I have to say I might be a little jealous of the nice temps yall are probably starting to get.

Cendrine-Try not to wear yourself out too much next week. Oh yea I forgot...I have a friend that lives in California and his dd was having her dance recital this weekend. So I thought it would be weird if yall were at the same place ...Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza? Just thought it would be cool if so. Long shot I know. LOL:p

Jo-Is the house spic and span??? I know exactly what you mean about being in the mood. It seems like the cleaning gods just fall right into place and you have all the energy in the world. I love days like that. On those days I am not bothered one bit by dh staying in the computer room and out of my way.;) It's those other days where he better at least attempt to help me...you know those ones too I am sure.

Off to watch a movie with dh...Have a great Sunday night!

TTYT

Good Morning All - the sun is OUT and I have on capris for the first time - not quite shorts yet! :( But may hit 70 today!

Kim, YES, in fact I went to class this morning! Between track 7 and 8 (about 45 minutes in to it) I had an outer body experience! LOL! Literally, I had to back off a little as this is the killer teacher (but my favorite) and she as working us! I have lost a little endurance. Anyway, the endorphins kicked in and I forgot where I was for a minute! LOL! That's the sign of a GREAT workout! I feel super and have the cardio glow! I may need a nap later! I'm laughing about the FIL situation. I experience that with a couple of couples we're friends with but only see on occasion. I have to be in the right mood to be around them as I have to hear their opinion on our lives, I'm too busy, work out too much, DH is going to get brain cancer from being on the phone all the time, oh and how long do I wash my lettuce before using it in salad as it isn't long enough!

Patricia, I heard Cars is supposed to be cute movie so yeah, even though I don't have young children, I love those movies! Give us review!

There is a street festival I talked DH into going to today, so will go do that. I just got my syallabuses for my next classes. Right now, they don't look good as I think I'm still wiped out!

Okay, he's ready so off I go! Hi Rachel and Cendrine! TTYL!

Hi Rachel! Quick note as I see you posted while I was typing! Maybe not 101...but I'd take 80! LOL! Yes, I feel good as the house is CLEAN!!!! BBL!

Good Monday morning! How are all the 6 Month Alumniers today?

I didn't sleep well last night for some unknown reason - just kept waking up so I am up and at it this morning!

Hope you all have a great day!

Morning Jo;)...and all that follow this morning.

Well since I ate horribly this weekend, I just had a horrible workout this morning. I was willing it to happen the whole time and then quit at the platform pushups. I was done for and there was no more use denying it. LOL
Ooops it was LIC by the way.:p

OK Kim I got a good laugh from the FIL story too cause I got one for you. As you all know my FIL has planted a huge garden. This year it is mainly watermelons and cantelope (why can't I spell that right ). He did have other things too like peas and peppers and all the other staples in a TX garden. Anyhow he called dh last week and is convinced someone came into his garden the night before and stole the majority of his peas...Then yesterday we were leaving out to go to Sam's and he was on our road so we stopped and was wondering why he was coming by with out calling and now , low and behold, he has a watermelon thief... Now there is a little bit more to this story. Last year he let my dad garden at his house since he had plenty of room. In the end they did not see eye to eye on how to maintain their separate spaces so they are not doing it again this year. Anyhow, we got a call last year from FIL that my dad had stole a bunch of squash that a man was coming by to buy later in the day and he was just all up in arms about it. But what had really happened is that he had picked some of my dads squash and had put them in the same wheel barrow that he had his squash in and told my dad just that his squash was in the wheel barrow so my dad took the squash...LOL It is so ridiculous to see it all written out that I have to laugh. Anyhow I called my dad and he brought back the squash and that was that...but I think now FIL thinks my dad is a watermelon and pea bandit...:D:D:D I on the other hand think FIL is delusional. Sometimes it gets me a little hot under the collar but most of the time I just think it is too funny.
My theory is that he is new to gardening and may not necessarily have all the produce he thinks he does or with the peas, although his fence is pretty tall, he might have a dear getting in. Who really knows.

Jo-Maybe the classes will look better after you have had a bit of a brain break. Enjoy all that nice weather you are having. I am thinking dh and I just need to get in the car or truck and drive north until we hit cooler temps.

Dentist tomorrow and then back to work on Wednesday.
TTYL

DH and I did a 3 mile run ( with a few walk breaks) this evening. Felt nice after a lazier weekend.

Tomorrow is ds's junior high grad! He has a new suit and everything, should be so cute!

Rachael, I love your FIL story! Isn't it great how family keeps our lives so interesting! Goodness gracious on the heat!!!!

Jo Oh, I'm so glad that you got to go to spinning! How was the festival? So how many weeks do you have off to relax?

Cendrine Did you survive the first day of boy scout camp???

Patricia What did your friend decide about the house?

It's going to be super busy at work this week, not looking forward to it.

Not much time here since I'm tired and need to get my rest for tomorrow to do it all over again...LOL! 1st day of camp went very well, the weather was perfect 76° and sunny, the kids in our den this year all get along, no bickering Yeah... And dd is having fun in her sibling camp as well. :D

Rachel, LOL about the garden thief, you could write a book about that. The reason I am not using punctuation beyond periods, by the way is because my keyboard is acting up and all the marks are on a key other than where it is listed... I must have pushed a button that changed the keyboard setting to a different one. Will have to figure out how to change it back...
Our recital was at Irvine Barclay Theatre, not the one you named, that would have been a fun coincidence. The recitals went very well both for ds and dd. They both enjoyed it a lot and they thought it was cool that I got them a candy bouquet rather than real flowers.... lots of the other dancers got flowers that they did not appreciate....;) We got to see lots of the older groups perform, some of them are graduating this year and going on to study dance. Amazing the stuff they can do. One girl was performing 7 numbers in one show, and there were 6 shows total, the two shows my kids were in she performed 7 times each.... She was really good.

Kim, I have opinionated family as well, lots of it....lol:rolleyes: You can use as many roll eyes as you want, I can totally sympathize... LOL Sounds like the weather your way is just wonderful, I am glad you are able to enjoy it with your family.

Jo, I did spinning again today, thinking of you. I had to get up early to fit it in before camp but it was worth it, so much fun and works you so well. Enjoy your break before looking at more classes.

Patricia, my kids are going to want to watch cars2 as well. I remember when the cars dvd came out, that is how we potty trained ds, every time he was successful he got to watch a few minutes of the movie....LOL whatever works, is what I say....

Not sure how often I will be in this week, but will definitely try to check in. Off to bed now...;)

Cendrine, It is really a small world so I thought this was going to be another one of those examples of that.:D In high school dh and I used to hang out at a friend of ours house all the time. It was kind of the main hang out for all the people we hung around with. One Friday after school we went over there and when we walked in, there was my dad's sister and 2 of my cousins. I hadn't seen them in a while because they lived out of town. Turned out that my aunt and my friends mom had been best friends for years and they were in for a girls weekend. So it would not have surprised me one bit if yall had been at the same place. LOL

Todays workout was Imax 2 and thank goodness it went better than yesterdays. I am sure it was my weekend diet. for lack of a better word because I assure you that there was no "dieting".:p

Teeth cleaning today and the girl was new and I think she really wanted to give my gums the what for...I am a weirdo that likes a little pain (makes me think they are doing something right LOL:D) But she had me squirming a bit and then gave me a good lesson on how to floss properly;) Kind of funny. But at least she is into her job, right.

I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday.
Off to grill some pork tenderloin for DH and some veges for me. TTYT

Afternoon all

I meant to post last night but DH needed my help on the computer and by the time I finished with that it was just too late!

Tues. was a vacay for me. We had to go up to the cottage to meet with the septic inspector and installer as somehow we have sand in our pipes! Looks like some animal (maybe a chickmunk nest) has been getting under the weeping beds and hibernating there and pushed all the sand up into the pipes. So a bit of a fix this weekend coming to dig it all up and unplug etc... Not the way I want to spend the longweekend (atleast it won't be me doing the work:p).

Yesterday I pulled out a virgin workout call the Gymstick (Gymstick - Simply effective!) Its basically a TB band workout - I don't think I'll be doing it again but I'm glad I got it off my list of "to do" DVDs.

DS's 6th b.day is next Tuesday so we're having an adult party at the cottage on Sat. for him as his kid's party isn't for a couple weekends. A bit of a pain to be so close to Canada Day. I had the choice to be induced after being 2 weeks past due and all I said don't let it happen July 1st or 4th!:p:p.

Kim - I've been in a very unstructured routine lately for w/os too:p I'm just not in the mood lately for any hard cardio. I figure going cycling for 1/2 with DS is better than nothing!:) Don't we all have family members we just "put" up with! DH is in a bit of bind lately as his father left the family when he was 3 and he never saw him until his death bed so no love for the man. His aunt has now contacted him saying that she would like to meet. He is uncertain what to do b/c he doesn't have much "use" for that side of the family and "why now". Did you DS get called "minor ninor" who does that not happen in Junior High? Congrats on that by the way.:) Go JETS go (except when its the Canadiens:p playing).

Rachel - LOL at your storey of the great Pea caper:p Send me your warmer temperatures here please. I hear ya on the weekend diet - lately I've hardly eaten at home and eating clean just goes at the window - it doesn't help with company and wine coolers go so well together! - I'm with you on wanting to feel a "little" pain with the cleaning - I feel so much lighter after a visit there somehow!

Cendrine - Cars 2 was good (not as good as the original as they never are!) If you like going to see digital Disney movies I'd wait for the rental! We bought DS an Nintendo for his BD and of course the Cars2 video game. His cars toys have gotten a resurgence in life lately too!

Jo - great workout - not sure if I ever had quite that experience though:eek::p How is the school planning going?

It's got hot here, and supposed to stay hot over the holiday weekend! The next few days are supposed to be 30C, is that hot Rachael? Hot enough that I'm wishing we had got around to getting the ac installed. Got some quotes but never arranged anything. We're going to head to my mom's cottage on Friday morning and there is ac up there, and we'll probably sleep in the camper up there.

Tonight was a family bike ride followed by a family walk. Okay, the walk was to 7-11 to get Slurpees, but I didn't get one. Did you know our city, Winnipeg, is the Slurpee Capital of the world. 7-11 sells more slurpees per capital in this city than any where else in the world. Winnie-the-Pooh is name after our city. Why I'm telling you this I don't know. Just came to mind:eek:

Rachael How are you doing on this hard week of workouts??

Cendrine Glad the dance recital went well. The candy bouquets sound so nice!

Patricia, what a difficult position for your DH!! How did his aunt contact him? Did he ever have any contact with his grandparents?
Oh, I guess there will be some rivalry with our NHL teams, hmm. I think Montreal is here for the first home game, Thanksgiving weekend, it will be a big event, I thnk it's schedule to be hockey night in Canada.
Okay, I don't know what "minor ninor" is.

Jo Do you still have summer going on there? Hopefully it stays nice for your long weekend!

Tomorrow is the last day of school for the kids and then we head out Friday morning for the cottage and will be home on Sunday.

Morning All

Last night was soccer for DS and a rest night for me! I'm finding I'm not enjoying working out every night so lately its been every other day.

Hope to get off work early this afternoon to jumpstart the long weekend. We're not driving up until early tomorrow morning though to the cottage.

Kim - a/c at the cottage! What's with that:p:D Oh, slurpees bring back memories from when I was a kid. Never knew there was a capital for it though! You never heard of minor niner? That's what they called everyone going into grade 9 in high school. I guess with junior high you don't have that saying!

Last day of school here too! DS is going to be so spoiled as birthday gifts will start being opened starting this weekend all the way to July 17th!

Popping up for air...:p
camp is going well, the boys are playing flag football right now, so I'm taking a minute to touch base with you!
I'm doing slow and heavy and spinning all week before heading out to camp, and I'm not feeling as wiped out as I did last year. It helps that all our scouts are getting along this time!
It's hot out but camp is near the newport bay so we have a pleasant breeze. The boys made a worm farm yesterday...:p One mom volunteer, an MD refused to come within ten feet of the critters... LOL!

Where has the week gone? Thursday, really? Wow, I've been busy!

Kim, summer still isn't here - it might be nice this weekend but it's still cool. We just had those couple of days and then we were back to rain. The temperature has warmed up a tad but I'm still wearing jackets! No, I didn't know Winnipeg is the slurpee capital! LOL! That's a label that puts a smile on your face!

Patricia, hope you guys have a great weekend! Yeah, you Kim have your weekends starting tomorrow don't you? We have Monday off.

Rachel, great thief story! That is really funny! Before I was born, my mom had a towel thief. In the summer she liked to put her clothes on the clothes line outside. She started noticing towels disappearing (one at a time) and then she caught her neighbor stealing them off the clothesline! LOL!

Cendrine, hope you're having a fun week! I am so proud of you and the spinning! It makes my heart glad! LOL! I would pick worms over snakes any day but I prefer neither!

Back to work!

Just a quickie for me...I will try and catch up this afternoon.
My last workout was Wednesday...Imax2 and I felt really good and nothing out of the ordinary and then by the time I got up on Thursday , my lower back was in a bad way:confused:. Have you ever had allergies and sneezed so much you are sore on the inside of your body? That is kind of how it feels . I am fine standing but if I try to reach or when I have to bend over it is really tender and stiff??? I hope it is a muscle thing so I am trying to give it some time and see what happens. It definitely feels better after I get moving for the day but I did not want to risk jarring it with Low Max or CCC. I really feel it if I am laying on my back and try to roll up in any kind of crunch so CCC would be out of the question for sure anyway. So starting to feel like a broken record with these kind of issues. Sorry about that , guys.

DH and I are off to the other job today to see if there is anything we can help with, so I don't know if I will be home early or if it will be a long one...I will try to come back later for personal though.
Have a great Friday.

Rachel, oh I hope your back is okay! Hopefully you did just tweak a muscle! Boy, we've all had our share of aches and pains!

I treated myself to some cycling shoes! Yes I did! I've been thinking about it for a while and we were at REI last night and the ones I've been looking at were on sale! It was a sign! LOL! So I got the shoes and then bought new pedals for my spin bike at home. DH put my pedals on tonight so I tried them out. Wow, they do make a difference versus spinning with my shoes in the cages! I'm going to get up and try them in spin class tomorrow morning!

All week I've been super tired - I'll talk more about that tomorrow. But a lot of it has to do with stress and both my DH and Ibo snoring all week and Ibo waking us up having nightmares! LOL! Anyway, I left work at 3:00, came home and promptly fell asleep until DH came home at 6:00. Then I did the short test on my spin bike, it's now 9:30 and I can barely keep my eyes open. It's all finally caught up with me!

I am taking 2 classes this session and they start Sunday. My books downloaded last night. And, just so you know - I got all A's on my 3 classes and (you'll love this) I got a perfect score on my Psych final. Yahoo! So all that hard work payed off! I can't believe I did it! And, it was one year ago today I went back to school and I only have 8 months left! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???

With that said, I think I'm going to bed! TTYT!

Jo, I'm treating you to whatever healthy drink can be found in Seattle to celebrate your stellar scores when we come up in August! You are amazing, but really, I don't think words exist to do you justice! The next 8week months will be gone in no time! But I'm glad for you that you are 'only'so doing two classes....lol!
so sorry to hear about your lack of good sleep! I hope you can get a nap today!

Camp ended yesterday and it ended well. And I'm not feeling exhausted, yay!

Rachel, take good care of your back! If you have a chiro, getting some electrical stim on it might really feel good!

Kim and Patricia, how are you two doing? We are having humid nineties here this weekend, made me think of you guys...;)

Good Saturday Morning! I got a good night sleep and it's suppoed to be 76 here today! Yippeee!!!

Patricia, I forgot to comment on that gymstick! That looks like a fun gadget or at least one that would be good to take on trips with you for some kind of workout! Just throw it in the back of the car! It reminds me of Cathe torturing us with the barbell curls with the bands and barbell!

Cendrine, shucks you're making me blush! Glad you had a fun week! I can't wait to see you!

We hired landscapers to come clean up our badly neglected yard. So we woke up this morning and they are already out there! Been there since 6 a.m. They are pruning, edging, thatching and on and on. Our yard has gotten out of control and became more than we can deal with!

Oh, so I didn't get up to spin at the gym, but am going up to do a spinervals DVD with my new shoes! Cendrine, if you want to try some of those, I'll send a couple home with you to try when I see you. Do you have a TV and DVD player in the garage with your bike?

Hope you are all making the best of the weekend!
