Step, jump, Pump vs Imax 2 Cardio & weights

I am trying to decide which to buy next. SJP/Step Blast or Imax 2/Cardio &weights. I have Imax 1 and 3 and love them. Which circuit workout do people prefer Step, jump, pump or cardio & weights. And do I need another Imax. Any input would help. I know eventually I hope to own all her dvds. But, I'm trying to keep myself in check, especially since I preordered the new series. Thanks for any input. Mary

I prefer cardio and weights because it's shorter  . I think that the weights in SJP are actually better, with C&W I don't feel like I get a great workout, but I use it as a "filler", one days that I want both C&W (duh!) but don't want to work really hard. SJP is good but for me personally lasts too long :) . Step blast is really fun, though, and I'm in the minority but for me Imax 2 is my least favorite of the Imaxes. So, as i re read my post, I think you need both!!!}(

You can't go wrong with either. They both are different, but very fun. I love Imax2:), but Step Blast is also another fun one. It really is hard to choose. You will love both:)

The toughie here is this: both Cardio & Weights AND SJP have abs(punintended)olutely awesome ab / core routines.

I vote you get both, right now if you can swing it to save on shipping. I think it's a coin toss which one to get first if you have to get them individually at different times.

I have both, but I recommend Imax2 and C&W. For some reason, every time I do C&W, at the end of the workout, I tell myself how much I LOVE that workout! It's not super hard like some other Cathe videos, but it's a good overall workout, including the abs section, and the stretch at the end feels fantastic. Imax2 is also great on those cardio-only days.

I recommend Imax2/Cardio and Weights.
I don't even have SJP/SB anymore (though the Timesaver workout has a lot of the footage from both).

I love SJP and Step Blast is one of my favorite step workouts! Great premixes on both of them.

Looking at the other responses I'm not going to be much help...I love both but if I had to pick one I'd get Step Blast/Step Pump & Jump. I think Step Blast is my favorite step workout and I love the premixes that use both workouts. Either one you pick will be a good choice. Happy shopping!

A few thoughts...

Regarding which circuit I prefer it is Cardio & Weights without a doubt. I like the weight work more in Cardio & Weights than in SJP. I think that it is more challenging. Not that either is particularly difficult since they are both circuit style, but I just prefer those in Cardio & Wieghts, especially for shoulders. In Cardio and Weights there are compound shoulder movements and SJP only has isolation movements.

I truly dislike the music for chest in triceps in SJP. I don't ever find myself doing the floor aerobics of SJP either.

Step Blast has 3 intensity blasts at the end that you could do a few times to get interval work. The step routine is incredibly fun in Step Blast.

My pick would be neither....get Body Max 2. It has better premixes and is more versatile. It's a great as-is cardio, great circuit, great upper body premix etc etc.

Oooh, toughie. I vote for both, if you can. They are both wonderful.
SB/SJP has lots of yummy premixes, and SB is a total blast to do. That challenge at the end is a doozie, too.;) C/W is the workout I choose when I need something easier and fun. Imax2 is super. I think it is the favorite workout of many on the boards. Sorry, but I can't choose just one. Cathe's workouts are like potato chips in that respect.;) Maybe it all boils down to how much choreography you like. SB/SJP does have more choreography challenge to it, but its really fun to learn and do. I am no help....

If you only can pick one to start - go with IMax 2. Neither SJP or C&W are that great of a weight workout, but IMax 2 is Cathe's best workout IMHO.

But, keep in mind that you'll want the other too - so start saving your pennies now. I just did an 90 minute step workout - starting with the step from SJP and then adding Step Blast. Walking the next day was interesting. But I had such a great time doing it!!

Imax 2/C&W.

Since I'm not a high/lo fan, I never got S,J,P even thogh Step Blast is very good.

The icing on the cake for me is that C&W has a tough little "step only" premix, perfect for 35 minutes!

IMO, IMAX2 & CW is prefered but I DO love sjp &sb too. The music in C&W is good and goes well with the routine.

OH- tough one for sure! I agree that Imax 2 is Cathe BEST cardio workout- I LOVE LOVE LOVE that workout.

That said I also love C&W for both the music and the variety. The 35 minute step only part is really great- and if you raise your step is pretty challenging.

BUT- SB and SJ&P have really great premixes- TONS of them!! You can lots of variety from that DVD with the premixes. I am also one that never wants to do Hi Lo and think I have only done it once on that workout- but there are so many premixes you never have to do that part.

So I guess what is more important to you? If I had to go back and have just one I really would have to pick Imax2 and Cardio and Weights but thankfully I won't have to!!
