I've been using SB & SJ&P for months now and I still can't get the choregraphy in Seg.#3 in SB. It never took more than a few w/o's to get all the moves of the other step w/o's of Cathes - I wondered if anyone else finds this one tough to get also? :) :) :)

SB is one of my absolute favorites, but there are a few parts I had to watch rather closely and just keep doing until they clicked. Especially in combos 2 and 3. Maybe if you told us what particular move is troubling you we could offer some more specific advice. I'm sure you're not the only one who's struggled a little:D
Best,

I viewed seg. 3 with no distractions and I think each foot pattern is doable on its own - when I try to put it all together it's like I have 2 left feet. I think it's the turns & walking around the step and the fast foot repeaters. I've never had a problem learning any other w/o. Maybe I should do seg. 3 after my warmup while I'm still fresh. I'll just keep trying until it clicks.:) :) :)

It took me longer to learn segment 3 in SB than any other step segment in that DVD. I'm not fond of triple steps, especially when done consecutively, with one group of triples going in one direction and the next, in the opposite. You also learn the fast foot repeaters while facing the TV, but in the final product, you do it with your back to the TV. Just be conscious of these changes. Eventually it'll all click.:)

Linda you're not the only one! I got the first two combos without too much trouble but I'm still stuck on combo #3. I think I'll try your suggestion and do it first next time while I'm still fresh... Thanks for the idea!

Section 3 use to get me too, but I think I figured out why its so confusing. Maybe this will help.

When she teaches the middle of the section where you do the triples around the step and then go over and squat, she has you do the triples going forward. But when she puts it in the combo after the fast feet shuffles, you do the triples backwards. Know what I mean? That use to mess me up every time. So you would do the fast feet shuffles, the 2 triples back and around (which she doesn't say), then you go over the step, do the squat and then the mambo on the floor. When she does the next move, she says: "mambo on the floor, triples back and around" which are the same ones you do after the fast feet shuffles but she doesn't say "back and around". I sure hope this makes sense. Once I caught on to that I was fine.

I think knowing about the switch in direction on the floor turns will help me finally get this down. Thanks for all your help. :):) :)

You'll get it. It was the hardest segment of SB to learn. I remember soon after SB came out, somebody posted that she ended up at her neighbor's house while attempting this segment. LOL

Hi there!

I just LOVE SB and for some reason, it was easier for me to WATCH what she does instead of LISTENING to her instructions for a few tries til I got it down pat. Honestly, though, I spent a week going over the first 3 sections before I could attempt the entire challenge! LOL

Now, for me, Imax3 took me FOREVER to get down! I felt like I was studying for college final exams with the way I had to sit down and watch the moves, rewind, etc... I was totally having panic attacks with this one. Maybe b/c it was my first Cathe. Now, it seems that every other workout of hers I do, I see parts of I3 in it! LOL

HTH!
