starting STS - questions re: 1RM and length of rotation

Hi everybody, I am getting ready to start STS and am excited (and a bit nervous!). I'm not new to Cathe; I have a lot of her workouts, and am not new to weight lifting either. I have a good bit of weight to lose, and I'm hoping between STS and a good clean diet with the WW Core plan, I can shed a lot of fat. I have a couple of questions, though:

I was going to skip doing the 1RM (it kind of overwhelmed me), but after thinking about it I've decided to go ahead and do it. I've printed out the PDF file and will start next week. Do you recommend going in order, or picking out the 5-star exercises first? And can this be completed in a week? I'd like to start STS the week after next.

Also, I'm debating between the 3.5 and 6.5 month rotation. Any thoughts either way? Thanks!

I have done the 6 month, an undulating 3 month, and I will be finishing a 3 month rotation next week. STS is awesome!!! In my opinion, especially after doing the rotation so many times, doing the 1RM is a must. You will get so much more out of it if you are lifting as heavy as you can. I don't remember how I did mine, but after a workout when you are all warmed up do a few. I would think by doing a few each day you could easily finish them in a week.

STS is the best investment. Good luck and have fun with it. Cathe has a way of pushing me like no other. Like she always says, you can do anything for 6, 8, reps!!! I have seen really good results from using STS. I will be taking off a month when I am done with this rotation and then I will start an undulating rotation again. Can't wait!!!!!!!!
