stability ball question

I'm somewhat new to cathe and loving the workouts. I have already procured quite a collection, but still looking to add more. What I'm wondering is whether or not the workouts that require a stability ball are worth doing without the ball -- specifically, I'm thinking about Butts & Guts because people seem to like it quite a bit. I will not own a stability ball -- I have two young boys who will just have way too much fun with it. I need to add more toning/full body non-cardio dvds, so, I'm open to other suggestions --- the pyramid stuff, or maybe gym style? Which of those do you like better?

You can pretty much do any of the workouts w/o a stability ball. In the first ones that Cathe uses one, she shows modifications. Basically you can substitute a high step, or if it's for cardio, many here use a small weighted ball. I love the SBall, though and have found that it can be a good toy for kids, too! Of course for whatever reason you don't want you DSs playing with it, do you have a place off limits where you can keep it while you're not using it?
