Squat Rack vs Plyo Legs

I'll be starting STS in about four weeks. I haven't decided between the squat rack or plyo legs options. I have the equip to do both. What are you doing and why? Hoping others opinions will help me decide.

Right now I am planning on doing the squat rack option. I have a Cathe 12-20# vest and loved the results I got with it when I was doing Gym Styles. The Plyo Legs version is a REAL BUTTKICKER: I did a few of those during the 3Month Transformation Rotation and was drenched! That said, I may choose the Plyo Legs option for a cardio day during M3...but I will have to REALLY be in shape for that!;)
 
I did both. I always started my week on Sunday, so I would do Plyo Legs on Tuesday, & Squat Rack Legs on Friday.
 
Holy Cow....BOTH?!?!? I think my leg might fall off...LOL!!

I do have a question since you've done both versions. What did you think the benefits of each were? And did you have a favorite?
 
Aw shucks, girls! :eek: I only did both because I saw other posters on here talking about doing both. It's a strong group of Cathletes we have here! Personally, I liked the Squat Rack better, because I love lifting weight, & at 57, I no longer enjoy a lot of high impact jumping. I did Plyo Legs (Disc 25) yesterday evening, & I realized how similar it is to Cathe's Afterburn concept. Cathe's LIS & the HiiTs have really helped me gain the strength needed for the explosive plyo in Plyo Legs. I think it all comes down to whether you want to develop fast twitch or slow twitch muscle fiber. Cathe's had several articles about the difference in her newsletters. I figured I wanted both to be well-rounded (in more ways than one... LOL), so I did both!:p

I like your idea of doing Plyo & Squat Rack together Jane. I did Plyo my first round of STS but am planning SR this time. I'm on rest week and will start M3 Monday. I just ordered the 12-20 lb vest so hope it gets here by then. If not I'll be doing Plyo anyway till I can start SR.
