Spring into Summer check-in -6/8

I'm feeling sluggish today. I'd like to do some heavy lifting for chest and back, like I've been planning since the weekend. We'll see... My mind has been on so many things these last two weeks, it's very hard to focus.

Sabine, are you ready for your trip? I'd love a break right about now.:)

Hi there! I'm back from vacation. We had a nice time. The last few days we went camping. Luckily the weather was on our side (for once). Since my husband and I sat around those few nights around the campfire with some brewskies, I've really got my work cut out for me this week. I did not workout out since May 27 ~ and started my workouts yesterday.

I did go back and read everyone's posts I had missed while I was gone. Welcome Suzanne!:)

Pinky, you had a good variety workout yesterday. I know, when things is life are not going according to plan, it's hard to stay focused on you. You've got to try. Schedule your workout you've planned for today. How did the meeting go at your son's school? I'm sorry I don't really don’t have any advise on parenting ~ my son is 4 and I just take it day by day and try to learn as I go along. But I believe you said you are hoping you've been doing things correctly. If you are not sure, maybe you could see if your library has a book that can answer some of your questions. Just on the side... I'm impressed with the 55 lb bench press!

Lisa, you had quite a variety workout yesterday too! I'm glad to hear you and Michael are feeling better.

Cindee, congrats on the bike race! 60 miles. I can't imagine.

Vilma, it seems all developers want to take the tress down. I don’t get it. Unfortunately on my property the trees are so old most will have to be removed soon. Did you do IMAX2 today? I hope you do!! Good luck on your surgery tomorrow. Keep us posted.

Lori, How do you like the new workout(s)? I have High Step Advanced. I did that yesterday. Either that is one really tough workout or I'm just out of shape from taking time off. I fell on my butt trying to do those one arm tricep dips. x( I enjoyed it a lot.

Judy, I'm sure it must be tough sticking to a rotation during the summer months. Between vacations and kids activities..... I liked the one body part/ day I was doing. I might go back to that next week. I think this week I'll do HST, BM, BC and CM.

Karen, sorry your DH couldn’t make the reunion. I hope you and your son get over your colds soon. I went to my 10 year reunion, missed 15 and not sure about the 20th yet (I still have some time).

Hi everyone,

My last check in before heading to Hawaii!!! I'm starting to freak out. I still have so much stuff to try to get done before I go and not nearly enough time. EEEEKKKKK!!!!

Today was Push Pull and I added on Power Hour abs for some more core work. Went as heavy as I could and was surprised by how challenged I was by some of the exercises. I need to work this routine in more often. For days when time is a bit tight, it packs in a lot!

Judy- Yoga Focus is basically two parts. The first part is yoga for strength and stamina. Some of the poses (I'm thinking about the ab poses) are really hard!!! This part has me sweating! The second part is more stretching for relaxation and flexibility and I LOVE it!!!! It feels wonderful. Karen seems a bit stoic in the workout, but then again it is yoga and whooping and hollering would seem grossly out of place. I give it a thumbs up!

Pinky- Hope you get some energy for your workout later today.

Susan- Welcome back! After my Hawaii trip I'm sure I'll have to hit the workouts hard again from having all those fruity drinks. It'll be so worth it though. YUMMY!!!!

HI everyone,
I could go for another vacation to now, especially now that we got our new work schedule todayx( It looks like I may only have one day off a week. It would be more then that if I worked only one job but I have two part-time jobs.The pay checks will be nice but I would rather have my sanity!
Anyway,yesterday was a 14kms run.Which totally drained my energy.The sun was shining and it was getting alittle warm.I am really starting to like only one kind of weather when running.I don't like wind,snow,sun,rain....just a cloudy chilly day, thats my ideal day for running.Its the only day that works best for me.
I am working all day today so I will workout tonight.I need to do weights and cardio.I have been trying to get back into weights.I did good last week.I lifted 3 times and I was very sore.
Susan-I liked the new workout.It didn't focus much on cardio.I figured there would have been alittle more or even harder.Its not her hardest workout but the music is great and the workout is good.I may do it again tomorrow.I enjoy circuit type workouts anyway.It mixes it up and the workout goes by so much faster.
Thats about it for me.I should do some work,I suppose.

Sabine if you are gong ot be in Hoalulu you should check out Germaines Luau, it was a lot of fun! I hope that you get this before you go, I should have told you this over the past few weeks, but kept forgetting.
Well, yesterday afternoon I did Power Circuit abs and added on some more planks CTX Kickbox. I'm mildly sore, but not bad today. I am not sure what I'm going to dojust yet this afternoon. I'm going ot have to think about it. It will have to be fairly low on the intensity level I'm affraid though. Oh well, I'm getting better fairly quickly thank goodness.

Hi All;
Just completed IMAX 2 along with the abs section of ME.
Need to finish up on stuff here . I'm seeing my surgeon for the last details tommorrow and to schedule my surgery. I'm hoping to get scheduled in for surgery soon, but it won't be tommorrow ;0 thanks for the well wished though.

It's funny to see everyone here use my given name ;) but I'm still the Shywolf too. LOL

Sabine enjoy your Hawaiian vacation! My hubby and I always say if we ever go I'll have the cabana boys give me back massages LOL while the cabana girls sit on his lap drinking Mai Tais LOL

Need to go get some more food as my kids are on summer break they are drinking up so much milk ...would you believe 3 gallons in just 2 days?

Hi again, today I finally did my pyramids for chest and back. It now takes me 30 minutes to do just these two body parts since I do rest longer if I have to. I tried putting in shoulders. I usually use 8/10/12 for post delts and lateral raises and Cathe's 3/5/8 for front raises, but by the time I got to the peak of the pyramid, I felt a twinge in my right shoulder while doing post delts. I stopped immediately. I'll try again in two days.

I moved on to the new DVD's. Tried the Basic Step and the step combos in the High Step Circuit for beg/int, then proceeded to the ab workouts in both DVD's, which involved the stability ball. The step workouts were perfect for a day like this, when all I really want is for the earth to open up and swallow me whole -- slow pace (although Cathe speeded it up and put more intensity in the third combo in the beg/int HSC) and not too intricate choreography. Not much to boggle the mind.

Susan, thanks for asking about my son and the woes he's been giving me. The meeting went fine. I know his teachers are doing their best to understand his behavior, although I have this feeling they think I'm not doing everything it takes. So I made this comment that there is so much literature written about the welfare of the child and not any on the welfare of the mother.

Sabine, I will miss you. Have a great time in Hawaii! I'm envious.:)

Vilma, I don't know if I can find the time for the HSTA this week because I have more lifting to do. I hope I can try it next week so we can all trade notes.:) Did I ever tell you how much I love your signature? Very ethereal.:)

Hey everyone!

Sabine, I'm sure you won't see this, but have a great time!

Pinky, for some reason I missed your post or posts about problems with Andrew. Not having seen it, I can't say much, but if this is new since your trip, maybe he's still adjusting in some ways to having gone and come back. Also, and I don't want to make you feel bad by saying this, if you've been really preoccupied the last couple of weeks, maybe he's sensing that and acting up because of it. As I said, I'm not saying that to make you feel bad, but rather to maybe make you aware of it. I think that kids are more affected by things than we may realize or give them credit for. Anyway, from the short time we talked when we met in Dallas in March, you seem to be a very intelligent, caring person, and I think that you are probably doing better than you think you are. I have gone through several periods when my kids have been difficult, and I have felt like I was failing them. I think when it boils down to it, some of it is just the stage they're going through at the time, perhaps compounded by events or changes in environment at the same time. As you're dealing with him, just try to remember to treat him with respect even as you're disciplining him (that's easier said than done, sometimes!). Anyway, I'm sure you're doing fine, and it will get easier.

Now I can't remember what else I was going to reply to! Oh yes, I have Cathe's new DVDs. I did the upper body premix of HSTA yesterday and really feel it today. I think I would happily do that twice a week for a while, and feel like I was fully working my upper body. I did the cardio premix this morning, on a 6 inch step. I think that I'm going to do the cardio and upper body premix a couple of times a week for a while. I was wondering though, if the cardio only counts as HIIT. The total for the cardio is only 12 minutes though, so maybe that's not quite enough. Anyway, I also did the Bar Method Fat Free today, minus the upper body work.
