Splits - would this work?

I am planning a month of splits - Slow & Heavy, P/S - Gym styles - 4D's and mis. other

Problem is I feel I need to work upper body 2x. I usually use the pre-mixes on Gymstyle since I'm time crunched.

So, would this be overtraining - I want to lift as heavy as I can on the splits:( my heavy is not nearly as close to Cathe or some of you guys)

workout each body part as heavy as I can 1X using one of the above series;

cardio 3 or 4 X - yoga daily and then do either a circuit workout or total body workout using medium or light weights.

OR - is it just better to lift as heavy as you can on the splits and exercise each body part 1X

Are you asking whether your could work each body part 1 time per week using heavy weights in addition to doing 1 circuit workout or total body workout per week (plus cardio, plus yoga)?

I think it's fine. I would consider circuit workout with lighter weights more of a cardio workout so i would just make it count as a cardio.

Alternative: instead of doing each body part once per week, do them once every 5 or 6 days so you are lifting more frequently. I prefer that do adding a total body when I'm series about a heavy weight rotation.

Thanks. I plan on starting a 4D rotation in January. I'll probably add in a circuit so I can get in some extra cardio too.
