Spinervals Flexible Warrior

Hi all

I've read on previous posts that some of you use Flexible warrior yoga from spinervals. I was interested in trying one of the volumes. Please could you advise which has the best stretches on there. I'm looking for something that gives a good athletic form of yoga stretch after lower body weight work and/or cardio. I'd say I was somewhat of a beginner. I've got some of Eoin Finns dvds but I'm looking for something a little bit more athetic based.

Thanks alot
Laura

Hi Laura. I have at one time had all three of the Flexible Warrior DVDs. I like both volumes 1 and 3.

Volume 1 - has a great 30 minute athletic stretch segment (I think this segment is technically called Recover) that I try to use once a week. It really stretches you very well, but is pretty long. There are at least 2 other segments on this DVD, but I don't use them, just the athletic stretch one

Volume 2 - I didn't like this one and can't remember why. I do remember it has about 4 segments on it and that one was focused on balance.

Volume 3 - this has a 15-20 min yoga session for post biking, post running, and post swimming. I bike and walk a lot so I use this after every biking/walking session.

It seems for your needs, maybe Volume 1 might be the best. Let me know if you have anymore specific questions that I can try and answer for you.

I have vol 1 and like it. Jen at Advanced Fitness recommended it to me, of the 3. I would like to have all of them at some point though.

I have volume 3, which, as mentioned above, includes shorter segments for biking, running, and swimming. I think I did the whole thing once, but mostly I use it in segments. The one for running is really great after I've run, I must say -- my hips can be sore and I do that and I'm fine! I've done the one for swimmers after doing some of Cathe's STS chest/shoulder tricep work. The bicycling one probably has some good back stretches, but I can't remember! It's nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done!!
