Sounds gross, but...

Do any of you use MENSTRUAL CUPS, or has anyone heard of them? I just read about them, and so many people said that they loved them that I went ahead and ordered one. Just curious as to what anyone's experience is with them. Thanks!

Dani,

I used them when I had my periods. Love them! It is messy at first, at least until you get use it. Then you'll wonder why you haven't heard of it before. Such a life saver, don't have to carry around big uncomfortable pads or Tampax with you. Maybe a panty liner, just in case, there is always the worry of that. But, I never had to use them either, cause I new when to empty the cup. Until you get use to it, you'll need panty liners/wipes with you. You'll get use to it very quickly.

Have a more active life!

I don't need these types of products anymore ;), but I did try a disposable cup a while back (each one lasts for one period, then you toss it out). It was a bit messy at times (though perhaps not as much as the menstrual sponges I used to use in the 70s). I would think that if you are comfortable with touching yourself, and you don't have an overly heavy flow, they would work well.

I use the Diva Cup and love it beyond words. I started using the Instead disposable (1x/day) cups a while back and liked them a lot, but would get annoyed when I'd invariably be out of them when I needed them (I'm not good at keeping stocked with essentials, and they were sort of hard for me to find). The Diva is simply awesome. I have never leaked at ALL, so I don't need any kind of pad or liner or any other period product. I'd highly recommend it. You can order it online at http://www.drugstore.com, which is where I got mine. Some Whole Foods stores apparently carry it, but I couldn't find it at mine.

Hmm...I personally thing this is rather discusting, but that could be because I don't like anything inside me just sitting there. I rarely use tampons.

I don't know how to say this, but let's just say, for the "type" of period I have, this would NOT work for me.

I"m rather disgusted buy this product...

Wow-I can't believe I never heard of this (where have I been)? I haven't had to use anything for about a year now but I am surprised I never heard of it.

I have two grown daughters. I will have to see if they have ever used them.

Interesting. Thanks for posting.

I've heard of these but have never used them. I'd be to freaked out as clumsy as I am that no matter how neat I would try to be the bathroom would look like something from The Nightmare on Elm Street. Esp since having kids it seems like the privacy of a bathroom is a bit of a luxury that I haven't had the pleasure of for the past 8 years.
