Sound Quality on Original IMAX

The sound on the original IMAX has always been a problem for me.

When I first bought the VHS, the sound was bad, so S&M sent me a replacement that still had a muted like sound.

I love the workout, but I have to really crank up the volume in order to hear it at all.

I don't have this problem with any of my other Cathe DVDs.

Has anybody else noticed the sound of the original IMX to be lower and sound muted in comparison to your other Cathe DVDs?

I noticed this when I sold it on Ebay--I was checking the condition of the tape. Couldn't understand it because otherwise the tape seemed to be in perfect condition.

I can't explain the sound quality on the VHS version, but the sound on most of the workouts that were originally on VHS then transfered to DVD (rather than filmed with both VHS and DVD in mind) is definitely more muted, and the picture isn't as sharp as those put directly on DVD.

You are right about the sound quality on the older DVDs, but they are tolerable.

The original IMAX is very muted.....and while it is still a great workout that I use often, I wish the music and cues were not so muted.

I actually noticed on LIC that the sound during one of the cardio segments/blast is overpowering, you can barely hear what Cathe is saying.

I did the original Imax last week after not doing it for a long time and I noticed the same thing. It is such a great workout but I love the music to be loud. That is one reason I don't reach for this much because compared to all the other old ones, I can barely hear this one even with my TV turned up full blast.
