Sore Hands & Pushup Tip

I just wanted to pass along a little tip for anyone suffering from sore wrists from all the STS pushups. I have used dumbells in the past but those were getting too hard so today I rolled up a yoga mat and placed my hands on each end. It worked really well. It even helps with the angle of the wrists. Peggy
 
Thanks for the tip. I was previewing disc one last night and was just envisioning my wrist pain from all the push-ups. I usually use dumbbells too and have found that the Reebok ones they sell at Target are great because they have square ends and don't roll. But the softness of the yoga mat sounds helpful too.
 
Perfect Pushups work great, too.

<slapping forehead> I have these and totally forgot to pull them out when I did M1 W1D1. Sheesh! I promptly came down with a cold and am out of commission for a few days, so I'm thinking about restarting with Cathe on the 16th. I'll be sure to remember to use those. Thanks!
 
Thanks for this tip!!! I have trouble with pushups and always use dumbbells but the part against the dumbbell starts hurting after a gazillions sets like in Disc 1! I will definitely try this with disk 4!
 
Thats what was happening to me too. I tried the Perfect Pushups and my topper from the mini step but they all became to hard. I was able to do a lot more pushups today using the mat. Peggy
 
1 also have reebok handle bars and love them.at first my hands would get sore but over a couple of times the pain stopped.

Sounds like a great idea also for the pikes on the ball on the ab workouts. My wrists get really sore doing those even worse than pushups.

I have the exact same problem, even more so with the pikes on the ball like you, Beth--I can't wait to try this! I always feel like my wrists give out long before my muscles do!

yoga blocks

You can also try yoga blocks - they're firm enough so you get hand support plus you get that extra stretch at the bottom of your pushups, yet they're easy on your hands. They aren't very expensive, either. :)
