Something we DON'T know about you (FITNESS)

I was a baton twirler in grammer school. I was in the ADVANCED class. It's something physical that I was actually GOOD at!:p I marched in several parades and competed w/my class in various competitions. I had a sash w/my parade costume and it had many medals on it! :) I even put on a little act w/another classmate who twirled as well. We twirled during a chorus assembly. I don't know if twirling falls under the blanket of FITNESS or sports or anything like that but it was a physical activity that I was good at so I'm gonna brag!}( ;) :p

Ok, if TiGGer (Wendy) can put in this thread she was a baton twirler (BTW that ain't easy) then I will add I was a cheerleader, basketball and softball player throughout high school, and was never ever chosen last in any gym class cause I ran fast, jumped high, could throw any kinda ball and could smack a softball outta there (not that strong, but good hand-eye coordination and could always hit that sweet spot), plus being a tomboy I didn't mind sweating like all the other girls who didn't want to get icky.:)

In 1977 (when I was 18), I rode my Schwin Varsity 10-speed from Portland, OR to Pueblo, CO in 7 weeks, camping along the way, with a group called Bikecentennial. It was 2,300 miles. I never wore a helmet (nobody else did either), rode in gym shorts and tennies, and made my own panniers and handlebar bag from a Frostline kit. My sister now owns that bike and I can't even straddle the bar except on tippy toes. I didn't know enough to know it didn't fit me. What a tank it was. I didn't know that either. Ignorance IS bliss!

I always warm up, but skip the stretching WAY too often.

I work out to keep weight on. As soon as I stop running and working out, the weight starts to drop off of me.
