Something died in my air conditioner

At work. I swear, can I not get through one season without some critter causing me strife?

It's kinda warm here today, my office is on the second floor facing west, & when I turned my a/c on the odor of a decomposing body came through the vent. So my choice is: stench & coolness, or sweat & not dry heaving?

How long do you wanna bet it'll take before the body is removed?

I'm hoping before July.

Yeah, I'm sure. We all have individual a/c units--they're connected to the same system but each unit stands on its own (don't get me started on the energy inefficiency!).

As far as I know, I'm the only one who has the smell of a dead animal coming out of the vent. UGH it is so gross!

That is gross! Man, I'd be screaming some bloody murder if it was in my office. How do animals get in there if it is up on the 2nd floor? Maybe it's a bird?

That happened to me last summer. He didn't die in the air conditioning though. He decided to kick the bucket under my desk on a four day weekend. It was AWFUL! They had to have my office professional cleaned and I had to go home early because I couldn't stomach the stench. I hope they get that taken care of ASAP!

That stinks, . . literally. My sister had a dead rat in her car air conditioner and couldn't figure it out till she took it to the car shop. It cost $500 to get it out and clean out the smell.

I recently had a stench coming from my coat closet in the entry way. Evidently, the animal got stuck in the walls when it entered the house. When I called a professional critter control company, they talked about removing the dead animal because of possibility of bacteria and parasites in and around the carcass. Since it's an air conditioner and it's blowing the bacteria and parasites into your office, maybe you can take that lead and it will get cleaned out more quickly. I know I will never forget that stench ever! It turned out to be a field mouse . . . can't believe the stench that came from that little bitty thing.
