So who has today off for the Holiday? And if you do...have anything fun planned? Maybe an extra long work out? ;-)

I have today off...going to the dentist at 10am-yeay-not! lol Then heading to get my oil changed in my car, get the car washed and then I'm meeting 2 girlfriends for lunch. Should be a nice afternoon.

I have today off but not b/c its a holiday.I always have Mondays off.Its my day to clean.But I need to do what your doing and go to the dentist.I will always hate going there!

I have work today.Around here, the kids all have off but in my home town, the kids have a kind of in service day where they work on community projects, volunteer projects etc. I think this is the type of day off kids should have to remember Martin Luther King...not just a day off.
 
I'm of today because we are having a huge snowstorm with 100km winds. I cannot even get outside. DH plows snow and I won't see him until tomorrow. The wind is on the front of the house and he will have to shovel me out when he does come home. I really don't have any excuses for not working out today! :)
 
I'm off every monday. Being self-employed can let you do that!! Unlike you ladies I like my dentist, he is very fast and painless as I should know. He has done alot of work in my mouth, so really the only pain is usually in my checkbook!!

I'm at work today. I work for a school district and although the kids have off, the teachers and support staff have work.
 
I'm off. I love getting up late and being leisurely all morning. I probably won't workout until early afternoon which means I won't get dressed until after that. I am sitting here reading and posting and drinking my Dunkin Donuts coffee. I'm going to cook my hubby a delicious pork chop supper tonight. I may do a little bit of shopping(I rec'd a gift card to Belks for Christmas) but I'm trying to save that for spring clothes purchases. There is nothing quite like having a Monday off with no schedule to keep. Ahhh...maybe I will make another pot of Dunkin Donuts coffee.....

Edited to ask: Cathy, where are you from? I agree with you and think that is awesome that your community works that way.
 
Strange thing here where I live . We have school on this Holiday !! They dont really acknowledge today .I dont know why though .Small town out in the boonies I still dont get it though. But we do get 2 weeks off in the fall to do the "Potatoe Harvest " Funny I think . Have a great day .:D :D
 
My kids are off, which forces me to be off too. When they finish watching their movie, we have to go out and look at rental properties to find somewhere to live next year.

It's January, the skies in Michigan are grey and the forecast is snow. Fun day.

My workout later on will be the highlight of my day: CTX upper and a short cardio if my butt is over the dreadful DOMS I got on Saturday by then!

I'm with Angela! I took a 3-hour breakfast and posted on these boards like crazy! :) Now I'm going to have a nice, leisurely workout. Great day! :D
 
I don't have off today nor on President's Day either. My company doesn't offer an excess of holidays, unfortunately. We just got our 2005 holiday schedule and 1/1/2006 is counted as one of our eight holidays for 2005. What do you bet that in 2006 they put it on the schedule again and try to have it count as one of the eight for that year too.

I have it off and had planned to do some really thorough cleaning. It's now 3:30 and I haven't cleaned a darned thing and have to pick up my daughter in an hour! Isn't it amazing how fast these days go?
 
Well I'm working today! I'm leaving early though and it has been a very hectic day! I did get my workout in this morning though!

I was off today, but didn't get a workout in today, ughh! Did lots of running around getting some errands done but the best thing about today was I got my haircut and I love it!! Wish it could look like this all the time though, it's sooo perfect:+ :7

Wendy with the exception of the dentist it sounds like you had a great day! How was lunch with your friends?? By the way I was in your neck of the woods today....went to Dean's Health food store on Rte 35 in Ocean and the Green Pharmacy on West Park Ave off of rte 35. I just love that area!!

Cathy I love that idea, I think it's wonderful that your community does this. I agree it is so much better for the kids to actually get involved in a project than just having the day off....with the day off you usually forget why you have the day off in the first place:eek: x(
