So, what are you thankful for this year?

As it is Thanksgiving tomorrow here in the States, I thought I would give us a pause to reflect on why we have cause, even in such uncertain times, to be thankful.

I'm thankful for my family
*my DD15 who makes me laugh and shake my head in awe that this wonderful being came from me
*my DH who is understanding of my foibles and appreciative of my good points.
*my pups Jimmy and Kimo who remind me daily that the best way to greet your loved ones is at a full run and full body wiggle.

I am thankful to Cathe for pushing me into a fitness journey I never thought I'd achieve.
I am also thankful to my Cheetahs for encouraging me in more ways imaginable.

Edited to add one more VERY important reason to be Thankful - I am thankful that my friend Carola's cancer has not spread.

I have EVERYTHING to be thankful for:

1. Excellent health
2. A wonderful husband who is my biggest fan
3. A career that suits me
4. A job I really enjoy
5. Financial success
6. A Mom who is in excellent health, who is financially independent and happy
7. A stepson and DIL who are in excellent health, who are financially independent and happy
8. The prospect of being a step-grandma in a few weeks

And those are just the big things. I could go on and on about the small things! In short, I have a wonderful life! :D

I'm thankful for my family of course. So glad that my DD has grown up into a responsible adult (still hard to let go sometimes) and DH who allows me my Cathe indulgences even if he doesn't get it.

I'm thankful for having met so many wonderful people here on the forums and at the road trips who are all such a major part of my life. It is so great be able to have a shared interest in something that makes our lives a little better.

I'm thankful for my 2 fur babies, that keep me constantly entertained even if it is with trouble they are getting into.

I know I am truly blessed.

What a great thread...thank you for starting it!

I am thankful for~
my family and friends
a new job that I really enjoy
good health
the ability to exercise

Happy Thanksgiving to all!:)

I have lots of things to be thankful for, top of the list being that I still have my job (scary budget this year, no tenure, contract or union, I thought my position might be cut ).

Today I'm most thankful for Cathe. I had surgery on Halloween & I started exercising again this week. I have to do low impact & to be candid, I haven't done many Cathe w/os lately (not b/c I'm bored w/her, just b/c there's so much new stuff out there I'd shelved her for a while). So I did LIC & LIS a few times this week, & I'd forgotten how fun & intense they are! B&G tonight, Low Max tomorrow. YIPPEEEEEEEEE!

I just don't know what we'd do without her! :)

I have the greatest wife!!

My mom is finally in a nursing home and doing great!

My fellow Tri-Staters for our fun get-togethers

Cathe for challenging me like no one else.

That I went on the July RT and met so many wonderful people.

I'm sure there's more, but this is a helluva start.

I am continually thankful for my home, and that all our needs are met with a few fun extras tossed in.

I am thankful that in a State with high unemployment my husband has a secure job that is enough for what we need, so that I may stay home with our boys.

I am ever thankful for my two boys who are forever teaching me patience and how to deal with frustration and who enrich my lives in ways I never could have dreamed.

I am thankful to have a wonderful healthy, fully functional body and for the health of others in my family.

I am thankful for those who continually find their way into my life to provide me with information that continues to broaden my views and deepen my understanding of myself.

- Family
- Health - my families and mine
- A roof over my head
- Promotion at work
- Paid off cars
- My forum and RT buddies

Great thread! I tend to take much for granted.

Here's what I'm thankful for...

---good health
---my wonderful husband who brings me so much joy
---my parents, still both around at 85 years old
---four cats that always do something to make me smile, even after a very bad day
---my job, that I have one when many do not
---food in abundance and "on demand"
---shelter from the elements
---my lack of complacency that urges me to become a better person
---the gift of intelligence and thoughtfulness

I know there's much more. I have been blessed in this life. :)

Great thread, Christine! (And thanks for the shout-out to the cheetahs.)

I'm grateful for:
  • the good health of my family
  • my wonderfully supportive & positive family & friends
  • a career which brings me great joy & brilliant, caring colleagues who inspire me every day
  • life's little pleasures (e.g. words like "foible" :))

There is a lot to be thankful for this year! Thanks for starting this thread and THANK YOU for being such a great friend!!!

I am thankful for

My two beautiful boys who make me laugh every day and drown me in tea and hugs these days :D

My DH who puts up with me and stepped up to be my biggest supporter in a time of crisis

My poochies Tuxedo, Pepper, Jack, Scooter and Shiloh whose unconditional love and devotion carries me through tough times

My friends on this board and in real life who have impacted my life in so many ways and who inspire me every day.

My surgeon, Dr. Evani, who changed his long planed flight to Michigan for my biopsy and changed his whole schedule for my surgery to make sure no time is lost. He is my hero!!!!

My Cardio Coach workouts which have pulled me out of very black holes more than once. Thanks to all of you bloody enablers and particularly the Enabler-in-Chief, Michele (Miss Lee) for convincing me to get CC.

And of course, all of the small and big pleasures in life.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
