So what are giving up or adding to Lenten practices?

I give up shopping--been doing it a few years now (by the way, not just Catholics observe Lent--I'm Episcopalian).

It's hubby's favorite time of the year since I'm not spending money (except on groceries, of course).

Lainie, I graduated from a Lutheran Seminary and also attend an Episcopal Church as well as a Catholic church. So I have my feet in all doors, even though I was raised Baptist. I did go to Ash Wednesday Service at the Catholic church.

One year I gave up eBay!

There is an online rosary here. Sometimes its nice to have a little company. This link takes you to the page where they explain the rosary, and on the left you can click on the mysteries of the rosary and the audio. www.ewtn.com/Devotionals/prayers/rosary/how_to.htm.

There are all types of "bead devotions" I have a mala, that I did a devotion from at one time. There is also Episcopal rosarys that have 7 beads.

You sound even more ecumenical than I am. I was raised Assembly of God and Church of Christ, then was Baptist from college until a couple years ago. We get around. ;)
