I just had to post about this book. I just finished reading it over the weekend (actually only took me 3 days to read) and all I can say is WOW. I am still thinking about this book. It didn't seem like something I would like, but I really did. So if you've been on the fence about reading it - here's your nudge!

Tess - I must be living under a rock cuz' I haven't heard of it. What's it about? I may need to check it out. ;)

It is about life in China in the mid-1800's and the traditions of Chinese women - footbinding, secret writing, marriage rituals, etc. It takes you through the course of one woman's life and her relationship with her best friend. It is really a story about two women and their connection to each other throughout their whole lives. Very touching and beautifully written. The author is Lisa See.

I agree. It was a marvelous book. I understand the author has a new book coming out too. I can't wait to read it.

This book is on my "to read" list. I don't know why I haven't read it yet. I am moving it up closer to the top.

I loved this book -- I couldn't put it down and I didn't want it to end. I read it quite awhile ago and I'm still thinking about it. I highly recommend it.

I haven't read this yet, although it's definitely on my to-read list. Anyhow, her new book is titled "Peony in Love" if you're interested...

I loved this one also. The only other book I have loved more was The Other Boylean Girl. I never thought I would like historical fiction, but I'm finding I enjoy them more than chick lit.

I haven't read this one, yet... It's been on my list, but now I plan on moving it to the top. I also enjoyed The Other Boleyn Girl. I got that book from this forum also! I'm waiting anxiously for Harry!
