Sneakers?

Hi Erin! What are you using them for?

For step, definetly Ryka N-Gage Instructors IMO. I haven't found anything better.

I tend to gravitate toward Nike for just about everything else.

I will agree with the previous 2 posters and say Ryka. I had held off on buying these for a long time because I was weary about buying shoes on the internet that I didn't have the opportunity to try on first.

After some enabling from some informative people on this forum, I took the plunge and ordered last week. I also took the advice of ordering up a half size, which was right on!!! My main goal was to find shoes that offered comfortable support for kickboxing and step workouts. The shoes that I had been wearing before (New Balance cross trainers) just really hurt my feet (the arch)and I would always have to stop mid-workout because of this pain.

I receieved my shoes (Ryka N-Gage Studio purchased from Sierra Trading post) on Friday and did a Powerstrike workout the next morning.

My Goodnesssssss!!! What a difference these shoes made for me!!! They were incredibly supportive, very cushion-y (is that a word?!) and I NEVER felt any foot pain during my kicks.

I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a shoe to use during your cardio workouts.

Thanks for all the input! Basically, I always gravited toward Nike too but want to expand my horizons hehe. I do a little of everything step, run, lift, spin, kickbox. But I can tell whenever I need a new pair because my feet start to hurt!! By the way I saw some Ryka's at DSW Shoestore if you have one near you.

Thanks for all the posts that helps!!

Erin :)

Hi Erin. I see you are from MA. I am as well.

Do you have a Bob's near you anywhere? Of all the time I've purchased Ryka's, I've gotten them in the clearance section at Bob's. I paid $30 for my Ryka N-Gage Studio's and then months later, $30 for my Ryka N-Gage Instructors. I actually went to a different Bob's and bought a second pair of the Instructors just to have.

I also went 1/2 size up.

Melissa, what do you see as the difference between the N-Gage Studio and the Instructor? Which do you recommend?

I think the Instructor is just overall a more comfortable shoe. It's made out of fabric, not leather, so it just feels like it moves better. More flexible, maybe.

I do like the Studio as well, but I would definetly buy the Instructor again over the Studio. Even if I had to pay full price.;-)

I have New Balance right now and I really like them, but I also have a pair of Rykas and they offer tons of support. I think it's a very individual thing. Lots of people don't like Rykas because of the higher cut.
