Snazzy Ladies January Check In Week of 2/13!

I'll be back later today. I've had a wonky ankle since last week when I did MMA Fusion out of town. I think the floor had cement under it. I took a rest day yesterday and I hope to do some cardio today. Low Impact.
I sure wish I could meet in Atlantic City ... Anyone for the Mall of America? Hinkley?

Sorry about your ankle, Colleen. Hope it feels good enough to get some cardio done today. To heck with AC and with Mall of America! LET'S MEET UP IN VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D
 
I did Step Cardio and just did the lifts keeping my toe on the step with a calf lift. Forgot how nice that workout is when you need a steady state short workout.
I read about foam rollers on another post and remembered I had one that I used after I tore my shoulder two years ago. Major muscle knots in my calf's ... so I worked my lower legs. Odd but my ankle felt better after doing the foam roller. Related? I don't know but I'm going to add FR'ing at least once week while I'm doing STS.
I wish I could do Vegas. It's back to winter here in Minnesota. Cold and snow on the way.

Today I did Athletic Step but I did it on a 4" step because I had to learn the steps and trying to learn on 6" would 'v been difficult and I probably would'v ended up watching dvd. Yesterday was no workout. I think the trip finally caught up with me.

yes, another few days slipped by before I got back to post. Again.

Picking up from where I left off:
Friday was MMA Boxing (all of it) in the am and in the afternoon was...GET THIS....3/4 mile SWIM and I FELT AWESOME! I felt like a swimmmer...not just a runner pretending to swim! The furthest I've gone is the 1/2 mile mark so I was super happy with 3/4 cuz I just felt like I could keep on going!!!
Yesterday was my long run...12 miles with the group in WIND WIND WINDY conditions. We went out too fast, though, in the beginning and although we did reign it in a bit, it still wasn't enough. We were a bit beaten up when we finished. I'm stiff today, and actually thinking a REST DAY is best.

I had a 'date' with the new friend yesterday, WITH kids. We all met at the Farmer's Market for some shopping and lunch. Then we went bowling, then indoor lazer tag, then pizza to finish off the night. It was great, we had a blast, and the kids all got along. 6 kids, ages 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, and 19. (the 17 yo is the 19 yo's girlfriend, lol) and it was awesome.

OK....time to make breakfast for my boys.
 
Gayle, That sounds like a wonderful date. I'm gald everyone had fun ... you most of all.
And congratulations on the swimming high.
Yesterday was Disk 10. I find bicep and shoulder work hard but then I did tear my shoulder a few years ago doing those exercises when I was testing for 1 rep max'.
But with the snow storm we had yesterday I went out to shovel. My shoulder's ache today. I have the strength and did 2 hours (only put a dent into the amount we have eft to do today)but joints are clicking. I'm going to take a total rest day.
 
Hi, Colleen. ENJOY the total rest day, but I don't consider a day of 2-hour shovelling sessions as a rest day! ;)
