SNAZZY Ladies Check In...Month of MAY :)

Hi Wendy .. I'm checking in and I I found your last post to be very timely. I've been guilty of not posting as much as I would have liked to for the past few months.
(30/30 on Saturday/ disk 30 on Sunday/ no time yesterday/ Core Cardio Circuit and Foam Roller on sore legs today .. had to squeeze one more check in).
I took an intense Red Cross Wilderness 1st Aid/CPR/AED training class so I can help volunteer on a high adventure trip for my DS's Scout Troop next August. The trip was going to be canceled if I hadn't come forward (I'm not an outdoors gal but I guess I'm going to be one) and in order to go I had to get Red Cross certified. It was all 3 days this past weekend and I kept hoping I could check in but didn't get to it but I did get two workouts in.
Anyway ... Ternina, Wendy and Gail .. you helped me stay on track over the winter and I have just two more weeks to go until I finish my 3rd round of STS in 2 1/2 years. I'm not quite where I was before I tore my rotator cuff 2 years ago but at 57 I'm not sure if that's a goal for right now. I'd say I'm 90% back to where I was.
I hope to "see all of you on the boards" and I hope I can jump in to say hello when I see you.

OMG! Earlier today I posted a response thru iphone and its not showing up:mad:

I really like this board,I wasn't able to post for last 4 days because as soon as the kids left on Friday we packed and headed to Waikiki for the weekend. But I did workout on friday with disc 3.

today I did Disc 4,i'm REALLY enjoying STS :D

Just one question,why does Cathe use a chair? This is going to sound funny but I had to buy one today. We have a 2 bedroom apartment and when we remodeled and replaced our carpet and got rid of our junky couch,I didn't want a new one. So we sit on the floor :eek:. And the reason is because I wanted extra room for my workouts and for dougie to have a bigger area to run around.

I'm for keeping this forum,but its up to you Wendy :D

Glutes are a bit sore from D20 today but the overall lower body DOMS is NOTHING compared to what it was last week after this work out! :cool:

Colleen:: Wow that was some huge preparation you had to do in order to chaperone a class trip! I hope you enjoy the trip now! Great work outs! Way to get it done! You've completed STS that many times!? Good for you! This is only my second attempt at the program (lasted 3 weeks the first time) and only the first time I will complete it! :eek:

Terina:: I can't recall disc 4 and what Cathe uses a chair for?

quick post ... Terinna ... I can't use a chair where I work out either. the one I have isn't comfortable and it gouges the floors. I don't know if this will work for you but I put the small high step topper on the edge of the full size step. I have 5 risers on each side, the long step topper and then the small step topper on the corner. I can quickly move the small top to the side for the next exercise. Make sense? I'm just very careful to make sure it's secure.

Drill Max-Scrambled legs and Abs weights and plates(for 1st time) that is a crazy workout! =)

Doing Cathe's STS series make me think why would anyone wanna do px90? Cathe is THE BEST!!!! i'm sure PX90 is great but Cathe is Betta!!!!:D

Thank Colleen,for the suggestion. i bought a chair yestderday:eek: My hubby thinks i'm a nut,because it had to be like hers.....:eek:(im a goof)

Wendy-Cathe uses the chair in disc 1 for weight work,I think I'll post question on "ask Cathe" im just curious:cool:

Terina:: Oh if the chair just to sit on to do some of the weight work, I use my high step for that. ;) Nice work out today! I got great results with the X so I will never fault it. Yes, STS is better in many ways but this variety hound will likely come around to doing the X again in the future because no matter how much variety STS offers, IMO it can only be done so many times in short order before it becomes repititious too. JMHO though. :)
 
Ha! I'm still here! Today STS Disk 31 Chest & Back 90% of 1RM. Yikes! I'm pooped. I need to cook dinner and I want to just sit down.
Two more weeks and I'll have finished STS. I almost talked myself out of finishing it. Work. Work.
 
Disc 5 done! This morning I was a little tired so i moved slower and also used heavier weights. My biceps are still sore from Tuesday.

Terina, I may not be drinking perfect water but I'm downing Mississippi City Filtered water by the gallons with STS.
 
Hey Ladies.

Today's work out was a cardio/leg mish mosh using a couple of KCM work outs...Circuit Burn and Split Sessions. I added on a 2.5 min plank to the end of it. Great sweaty burn that took about an hour from start to finish including warm up and cool down/stretch. :D

I am out of here (work) at 12:30 today. Have lots to do to prepare for my son's 6th B'day party tmrw afternoon! Also running by his school with cupcakes for him and his classmates this afternoon! :)

Checking in with Step Moves, I only did combos 1&2. Combo 3 was like WTH(heck):D. Cathe moved way to fast. But I still got a good workout.The last time I did this one was back in Nov.

Biceps are still sore from tuesday:eek: looking forward to disc 6 tomorrow :D
 
Plyo Legs week 3 and weights & plates abs done. I'm quivering like jello. Could only do 9 of the one legged squat thrusts but I see progress. Last year I could only do 6.
Why do I get cranky when Cathe asks "are you working"? It's always when I'm about to pass out from exhaustion. I say not so nice things when she asks that question. My new goal is to be mellow and happy when she asks that question and reply " of course instead of @#**#@@#!!!"

KCM's TLC: Coffey Blend Premix (47 mins)
KCM's Circuit Burn: Abs
STS: Ext. Stretch

Awesome work out! Just got TLC and love the premix I did! Can't wait to do the work out(s) as produced! :D

Today it was disc 6 and im proud of myself I followed more of my rep max =). On to week 3 =) Great workout!

Wendy-what the TLC workout?what other workouts do you have besides Cathe?
 
Terina, TLC is Train Like a Contender. It's cardio-30 minutes of athletic moves that appear to focus on the lower body and 30 minutes of boxing combos which is obviously upper. The Coffey Blend Premix I did alternated the athletic with the boxing and it was 47 minutes long. Good stuff and my upper body is ON FIRE today b/c of it!:D

This morning's work out I just wasn't feeling so it was short. I started with KCM's Get Ready, Step, Go and did about 20 mins of the Horizontal Stepping Premix and then thrw in Sylwia's Cardio Mat and did the few cardio drills at the beginning of the work out. All in all about 30 minutes of cardio maybe. I just couldn't wrap my mind around anything this morning. Oh well. No biggie. It was day 7 in a row of work outs for me anyway so perhaps it's just as well. I will play tmrw by ear but I am definitely taking a full rest day tmrw or Tuesday.

Good Morning.

I wanted to do STS legs today but I overslept b/c my alarm clock didn't go off. :mad: I ended up doing a shorter w/o instead-KCM Cardio Blast Plyometrics (30 mins) plus abs from SJP. I am planning on an STS work out tmrw and then I will finally rest on Wednesday.

Terina:: 2 rest days for me?? Are you crazy? That's not happening! :p So how do you like doing the 1RM tests? I didn't like them and they didn't work for me anyway but many people have great success with them.

Gayle:: I read your little blurb about your marathon on FB! CONGRATS!

Colleen:: Hope you are doing okay! (((HUGS)))
