?smaller waist?

Thanks Maribeth!!

You have explained in detail what I always felt was right. But I have no degrees, so I am sometimes swayed by people who know more than me. Now I don't feel so bad about that white bread I had for lunch! It was a very health sandwich. And I love sweets! I just can't eat as many as I would like. I lost 25lbs while having one candy bar a day! It was a controlled amount, so I do better with that than say, cookies. Mind you, I could eat 2 or 3 candy bars with out even blinking and eye!

What I have been trying the last few days is 5 smaller meals. I like the way I feel doing this. I didn't think I could do it, but it's easier than I thought! There will be some days this just won't work, but I think I will feel better if I can do it most of the time.

Thanks again for the great info!!

RE: Thanks Maribeth!!

You are most welcome! I have to eat every three or so hours or I get nasty. I do much better if I don't allow myself to get hungry.

There are other little things that work for me, too. But, I do love cookies, cakes and bread. Like you said, the key is in realizing we can't eat unlimited quantities of them, or anything else for that matter!

Take care!
Maribeth

RE: Key Point-Net Deficit

I have to say after reading your comment, I feel so much better. The pressure to eat totally clean is very much a struggle. I don't have any problems committing myself to 35-60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week, kickboxing 2x week, and strength training 3x week with Cathe's pure strength and slow and heavy. But, when it comes to diet, I really struggle. However, I'm much better now than I was 1.5 years ago, and managed to lose over 30 pounds. Although I've only been doing Cathe's pure strength for 8 weeks, I have seen some definition in my legs and arms with no change on the scale. I still weigh 135 pounds, however, people continue to say I'm still losing weight. But what I'm losing is inches, despite the occational ice cream, cookies, white bread etc. I don't have the cleanest diet by a long shot, but i'm still noticing results. I measure myself every 1st of the month, although I'm a little early, I noticed I lost 4 inches total from July 1st to July 31st. I agree with what you said in regards to less total amount of calories in and more expenditure out in the form of exercise. In the last few months of reading up on diet and exercise, it is clear there is alot of misinformation out there. Consistency is the key, despite some days of weakness in regards to diet, I try to stay focus and get back to creating a deficit on total amount of consumption and increase activity. It could be a simple as adding a walk or two during working hours around my building each day. It does make a difference and better yet, I can have my cake and eat it too...in moderation!!!!
