Slow and heavy or 4 day??

Hey all! I need a little help deciding my next Cathe purchase. I have rededicated myself to a clean eating, more regular workout life for the past 16 weeks, and have done really well(go me!) I have used to Pyramids and the last 8 weeks have been Gym Styles, and I want to treat myself to a new Cathe. I had Slow and Heavy on vhs, and liked it, so I have been thinking about getting it. Is the weight work in 4 Day great enough to get it for the weight work alone?? I do my cardio at the gym, and do weights at home.....I am having such a hard time deciding....or should I wait for Xmas and ask for STS??? HELP! Thanks,

I feel that 4DS is a little less comprehensive than Slow & Heavy. The sets are quicker and though the weights used are heavy, it's still a little more hypertrophy-based whereas S&H is geared towards maximum muscle recruitment.

Maybe STS might interest you the most--from the description, it sounds like a little of both styles are used. Not sure if that helped any... ;)
 
STS!

At this point, I would just order STS. You can do STS for weights and continue doing cardio at the gym.

But it is a tough choice--if you're looking for quick and dirty, 4DS does the trick. If you are *able*, I would get both STS and 4DS; 4DS is great for a quick workout, and STS will provide workouts for large strength gains in Mesocycle 3 (like Slow & Heavy).
 
Yeah, quick and dirty is so how I like my weights!! Thanks to you both for your input! I have done really well just working one or two body parts a day. For me anyway, more does not always mean better, so for now, 4 Day just might be the answer. I am asking for STS for Xmas!!!! Have a great day!

I vote for 4DS--I love hitting one/two body parts per weight workout, you can do it in about 30 minutes, and I have gotten the best strength gains using 4DS!! Love, love, love it. (I do have Slow & Heavy, but got WAY better results with 4DS and I liked the shorter time factor on those.)

The cardio is also very fun if you ever want to do something at home for a change, too. :)
 
Okay, another vote for 4 Day....anybody else before I get out the card?? Thanks for your help guys. Any yeah, b-gal, I was thinking the same exact thing on my way home from work....I haven't done any kickboxing in forever and I used to LOVE it, maybe I will get some use out of the cardio segments after all?? Good luck with whatever you choose. :)

The nice thing about 4DS is the cardio workouts are very fun as well and there are so many premixes to work the series in many ways (circuits, double cardio, all weight segments together, etc.).
 
Well, if you ask for STS for Christmas, get yourself 4DS now :eek: I love 4DS and have the feeling that we won´t regret STS when we have it!...so get out that card!
