Slow and Heavy How do you do it?

I have been having serious problems with my knee cartilage so I am thinking I should back off of doing impact workouts and focus more on building strength. I have the Slow and Heavy series and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how they do this workout. Do you do each of the 3 videos 2X per week or do you do them 1x per week spaced out with cardio in between? What is the most effective way to build some strength? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do each S&H workout once a week, with cardio in between.

I really like this series and saw some increase in strength when I went back to a muscle endurance rotation. I believe the best way to build strength is to lift heavy with low reps ~ in other words, a weight you can lift up to about 8 times and no more without really struggling.

Hopefully Debbie and/or some forum vets will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

I've also done each workout once per week, say Mon.; Wed.; Fri.

Cardio is done in between and those workouts depend on my energy level on the given day. Because muscle-building is the priority, if I'm too sore, I'll do something lighter. Let's say the day after legs, Imax 3 may not be quite feasible. ;)

It's all about how your body reacts. Good luck.

I've done it with the 3 workouts back to back (say, Mon/Tues/Wed) and then a full body on Friday (PH) and cardio on Thursday/Sunday but found I was over-training. I think the best way is to do as previously suggested... say, Mon/Wed/Fri and then cardio in between with at least one full rest day. You'll see much better results. I have knee issues, too, and I find my knees do better with S&H done in this fashion and actually feel better, too.
