RE: The mother of all Slim Series Threads
I've previewed all of them and done two of them now. I'm having to put them on hold becuase I've been nursing a hip flexor injury (occurred prior to this) and just have to get that under control. The web site and booklet explain that this type of training is to be short term only as a rotation of no more than 4-6 weeks. I think it could be very effective in leaning out your muscle appearance if you tend to bulk easily. Also the tapes are sequenced quickly and with lots of large muscle, lower body moves that keep your heart rate in the lower cardio range for fat burning. I did feel the lower body work but not the upper body. I think its because she does a lot of unique moves for the hip/butt that Cathe doesn't do. Good floor work, kind of like the old Firms. Overall its really closest to the old Karen Voigt Great Weighted Workout. I don't think the music is bad-its just a jazz instrumental with a drum beat. She does stay on beat most of the time, but not all the time, but you don't really notice that much. (There's a music off option.) I'm really looking forward to seeing what it will do for my lower body once I'm ready to work out again. My upper body stays pretty buffed just doing PUB or PS once a week without much else. Lower body is my issue.
