Slanted Risers

Has anyone bought a pair of slanted risers yet? I'm trying to decide if I want them for STS or not. When I did the 1RM tests, I realized that I don't get a high enough slant on my step with the regular risers. It's expensive, ($50). I can't decide if it's worth it or not. How's the 90 minute video that comes with them? Is there a lot you can do with them?

I bought them a while ago.
I really like them. You can also stack them together to make a square shape that is the equivalent in height of 2 1/2-3 risers, and use them under the High Step topper.
For me, they replace the Transfirmer and the Bodywedge I used to own.
Doing lunges onto a slanted step is easier on some people's knees (and hits the booty well!)

thumbs up on the slanted risers from me too! I got them along with a new Original Club step and have never looked back! they are SO much better than simply trying to lean the step against the square risers and much safer as well! I use them to slant both ways... as an incline bench, and turn them 90 degrees so the long side of the step is slanted for modified lunges... I have also used them to increase my bench height as Kathryn mentioned and they equal 3 risers perfectly :) If your budget allows, you will not be disappointed in them :)

I have the slanted risers and love them. I agree that they are much safer than trying to stack the square risers. Good fitness investment!

I have the slanted risers. Kathryn, can you explain more about the lunges?

Another one who would like more explanation on the lunges. I bought them back @ the RT so I didn't have to pay shipping ;). I love them. Just like everyone lese said makes for a much better incline/decline then trying to do it with the regular risers!!

Here is a youtube video demonstrating a lunge on a step.

You can use a step during forward lunges too. It takes the pressure off the landing and knees.

I was taught to do lunges this way (before slanted risers). I bought slanted risers and plan to use them for lunges.
My husband has knee issues, tight hamstrings. The step helps him during lunges. It's a great safe way to do lunges!!!

Just set up the slanted step so the low end is towards you, and do forward longes or static lunges with the front foot on the platform.

(Karen Andes recommends doing forward lunges especially onto a platform----and she's all about safe and effective moves). It allows you to dip down farther to hit the glutes more while still protecting the knee).

I did a lot of slanted lunges when doing a Firm Transfirmer rotation, and felt they really worked well.
