Sizes make NO sense!

My husband and I went to the Kohl's last night.

I've been wearing his jeans because the pants I own, jeans and otherwise, are all too big. What a happy problem!

I found a pair of men's Lee 32x30 that fit well, but I thought I'd just try the women's jeans to compare. I origianlly tried on the men's jeans because they are cheaper than the women's (what's up with that anyway? ;))

So, I wound up purchasing three pairs of jeans - all women's. One size 12, one size 10 and get this - an incredibly ego-stroking size 8.

Two jeans were Levi's and the third was a Lee's relaxed boot cut (the 8).

I'm certainly not complaining, but who has the time and the patience to hop around the fitting room for an hour trying to find the right jeans? This is why I get so frustrated shipping for clothes!

Off to enjoy my jeans. Thanks for reading!

This is why it takes me years to find a single pair of jeans that fit. I live in No-Where-Ville, and I can't shop online; it's not worth the hassle of having no idea what size or fit I need. My wardrobe ranges from sizes 2/4 up to 12s! It's ridiculous. What's the point in even having sizes if they don't mean anything.

Oh, and I get SOOO angry about the pants that grow two whole sizes over the course of a day. If I had wanted a bigger size, I would have purchased one to begin with!!!

Congrats on the weight loss, though :) Enjoy the hard-won purchase.

I hear ya! I bought a pair of jeans a few weeks ago that fit me perfectly when I tried them on. Now I can only wear them for half a day because they're droopy and literally falling off of me (unless I grab a belt) by lunchtime. I've tucked them away and will wear them as my "fat pants" - which will hopefully be never. By the way, they are A.N.A. jeans - spread the word.

I would never by jeans or pants on-line unless I had tried them on at a store first to know what size to buy.

Thanks Sara! Losing the weight was not easy but keeping it off is proving to be just as much of a challenge!

I've had a couple pairs of pants the 'grew' as well. So frustrating after you've spent the $$$ to not be able to wear the darn things.

It's bad enough different brands have different sizing, but what an annoyance to have to buy two different sizes in the same brand!

I absolutely hate trying on Jeans! very frustrating. I have had the same two pair for probably 5 years because everytime I try a pair on I hate the way they look!

I actually got Lucky last month, literally! My dd and I were walking out the mall and right at the exit of the store was a rack of "lucky jeans" on clearance, now I have tried them on in the past and always hated the look, but for clearance I figured what the heck and grabbed a pair and tried them on. Well they fit perfect! except for the length so I bought them. $98 regular I got for $29!
I was so excited!!! still debating whether to have them altered or just tuck them under. they are a boot leg and I have worn them tucked under with bulky shoes and it worked out ok but I cant just throw them on with flip flops or flats and go!

what do you all think? alter or not?
thanks!
Lori

Oh Lori, DO alter! Too-long jeans don't look good in my opinion. The pant leg breaks, and that long, lean leg look is gone.

One time I bought 2 pairs of jeans: same brand, same color, same style, same size. I only tried on one of the 2 pairs figuring they would fit the same. Boy was I wrong! LOL I got 'em home to find out that the pair I didn't try on was appreciably smaller so they sat in a drawer for quite some time. I am just recently able to wear them comfortably and so ofcourse that means that the other pair that fit me are on the bigger side now...ya just can't win I tell ya! LOL

Well Wendy on the flip side, you didn't have to give up a pair of jeans you liked because you slimmed down!

I had the same experience yesterday, trying on capris. I took two pair with me to the dressing room: same brand, same style, same size, only different color. The first pair had major butt-gap and I almost didn't try on the second pair. I'm glad I changed my mind and gave them a try - they fit me perfectly and with no butt-gap!

Really doesn't make sense, does it!
