Should I start running??

Thank you for the kind words but honestly I think I just take to distance running easily. Speed is a much more difficult concept for my body to digest. Well....speed for more than 400 meters. LOL Believe me when I say that I am in total awe of your sub 9 minute miles. I can do that (barely - we're talking 8:59 and a half yuk yuk) but only for a mile.

I haven't checked out kicksport.com but I definitely will. A gal I know who runs and runs fast told me that racing more frequently would help me increase speed. That's why I shifted my emphasis from marathons to half marathons and will also do a few shorter races as well.

That running bug is something, isn't it? Seizes you so hard that you don't realize how far gone you are till you come up almost lame. It happened to me the first summer I ran when I discovered that I loved slow distance. Luckily life cut into my running time and I realized how tired I was becoming.

Thanks for the info and for the website!

RE: Waddle On!/Debra

I totally agree Debra. I think running has taught me many lessons about fitness and about life. Whoever said that running a marathon changes your life was sure right.

Sounds like a plan! I actually have a few speed workouts that I forgot that a friend had emailed me. I'm going to try using one of them a week in place of or at the end of my 4th run.
