Shorter workouts

Hi all - Over at VF the other dy I read a thread that said if you are an advanced exerciser, it's pointless to do less intense, shorter strength workouts. Example given was Gilad's Quick Fit - Legs, Shoulders & Arms, Back & Chest workouts. They are only about 20 minutes in length, but I usually throw in a couple during the week after a cardio session because I'm shorter on time during the week. Weekends or if I have days off, I always do Cathe's. I also do the strength on Gay Gaspur's Greatest Step Workout and strength from Kari Anderson's Body Tech when I'm short on time. I am pretty much advanced, but I always feel I've gotten something out of these workouts. Am I missing something and just wasting my time?

Thanks

Mar :-(

I would say you are NOT wasting your time! What about those who pick a body part per day and only work it for 20 minutes? I definitely think it is a GOOD thing to do longer workouts when you are able and hit each part longer but I can't believe your workouts are pointless. Especially when you add Cathe to the mix during the weekends. Are you seeing results?

Hi Debbie - I see results and I also get sore as many of the exercises work the muscles differently. Thanks for your input.

Hi Debbie again - For example: last night I did Cathe Cardio Kicks, ab work from pure strength and Gilad's, Chest & Back.

Tonight I'll do a Cathe step video and Gilad's Arms & Shoulders. I feel pretty worked after these.

Great Mar...if you are seeing results, it's working! There have been times I've had to quit short of doing a complete workout and do say, PS Chest & Shoulders and skip the Tris til later. I felt worked too. Keep up the good work. Have FUN with Cathe & Gilad tonight!

I agree with Debbie!! You're not wasting your time. I often combine parts of one of Cathe's tape with another one, and there are days I need a short break in between the two workouts. You're still moving your body, and it all works in the end!! I like to do one of the older step tapes and combine it with either a CTX series, or one of the Slow and Heavy series. I need a short break in between though - WHEW! LOL!!
