Short cardio workouts?

I usually do 2 or 3 30-40 min workouts (spinning, step, or running) and 1 short (but tough) 20-25 min video. I know I could do more but for now I'm happy doing just 3 (sometimes 4) good workouts.

Are there any benefits to doing short but hard tapes? Or is it best to just try and do a longer one.

My opinion was that even fitting in 20 mins was good since I feel like I get a good workout- especially if I do weights afterwards (as long as I did my tough, longer workouts too). But I keep reading that you should do 3-5 workouts for at least 30 mins. What's the deal here??

Thanks!

I am interested in this too since I started CTX Cardio. I love that it only takes me only 30 mins -- I usually do 4 times CTX Cardio a week. Do I still need to do 60 mins cardio to maintain my endurance level?

I don't really need to lose weight at this moment.

Just 2 weeks ago(I'm finishing my 2nd week), I went from 5 days strictly step cardio to 4 days step cardio and 2 days weights. Already my endurance level is noticeably down. Disappointing for me.

Hi Lis! It is best to do a variety. Short hard workouts, long steady state workouts, a combo of both within a given week, or even 6 light days, 3 very hard days, etc. The list goes on. If you are happy with what you are doing now, keep doing it. When you are no longer excited about it change it up. Your body benefits from change much more than a fixed program. Good Luck!
