I have been working out with some VERY old Avia's.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY need some new shoes for Cathe workouts.
Please help and tell me what you love about your shoes; plus if you have a reputable online shoe store that you can share a link with I would be sooooooo grateful!
Hey, I did my first Cathe workout ever in an old pair of Avia's! Then I saw that Cathe and crew wore Rykas so I tried them out. I am now hooked. You will not believe how comfortable and supportive these shoes are! I have 2 pair of the high top aerobic shoes for step and two pair of the crosstrainer low tops for hi/lo and kickbox. I love them! My feet do too!
Buying workout shoes is as personal as buying lingerie. It is what works for you! Do you have flat feet or high arches? Are your feet wide or narrow? Do you over-pronate or over-supinate at all? Do you like a lot of room in the toe box, or do you like it to fit snugly? What are you looking for in a shoe -- stability, cushioning, etc.?
Thanks All;
I went ahead and got 2 Xtng shoes
New Balance 609 plus being the Cathite that I am the Ryka Iseum,
My Avias are about 7 years old ( yes I know very bad for my feet ) but I finally caved and got some shoes I hope to be raving aabout and which will make my feet very happy Thanks once agin I truely appreciate all your inputs
Hi Shywolf, Sorry to take so long to answer but it takes me a long time cuz I use a work computer...
Well, I have a pair of rykas that are a bit too small for me and I was wondering if they were your size so you could try them. I am a size 9 but in rykas a 9 1/2. These are 9's and are a bit too small for me. If you normally wear a 9, they will probably be to small for you
I had Avias a LONG time ago. They were so heavy compared to the rykas I never considered getting avias again after trying rykas.
I like the Freddy's High impact pro trainer and the plain pro trainer, www.freddy.com. I've tried the Rykas, nikes and a few others they just really make my feet fall asleep alot. Then of course I found Freddy from here on a post a few monthes ago. I just love the Freddy because #1 they are light as a feather, they don't make my feet sleepy. I guess it just depends on your feet. I just got lucky and finally found something that works for me after wasting alot of money on other sneakers:-( . Good luck on your purchase.
I checked out he Freddy site and i really liked the hi impact pro trainer and the hi impact boot. I am still looking for the best shoe for shock absorption. I had rykas they were'nt enough (impact wise). I just bought a pair of Nike Air and they're O.K. but probably only because they're new. Do you feel that the Freddys are superior in terms of impact like the name suggests? Was the customer service good? I would never have even known about Freddys if it wasn't for your posting. Thanks for any info.
Hi Jenn, I think the shock absorption are super. The High impact pro has 3 where the regular one has 2. They are both great. My knees don't bother me like they did before and of course my feet aren't sleepy. If you go with the high impact pro trainer I would order a size smaller because they do run a little big but the regular trainer are true to the size. The customer service are wonderful.
I am a New Balance gal. They run wide so I don't have the problem with sleepy feet like I do with other brands. I love their cross trainers (which I use for Cathe workouts) running shoes and walking shoes. For the last 8 years, I have been very happy with them. Debra
I believe the shoes I have now are the Ryka Nitracel's. These sneaks are terrific. Comfortable, snug, supportive, attractive, flexible. Need I say more?;-)
I am another Freddy girl myself. I have tried the Rykas, Nikes, Reebok and a few others but nothing works for my feet like Freddy which are now on sale at USbodyware.com I do believe.
Great tip about the Freddys being on sale at usbodywear! I just ordered a pair there for twenty dollars cheaper than i was about to pay at Freddy.com . You made my day. I sure do love a sale. Thanks again!!
My all time favorites are Nikes, they feel the best when running and doing hi/lo or step. But I also like New Balance Cross Trainers which are also very comfy
I think it all depends on the person, I was training someone last night who can't wear New Balance because they feel "funny" on her feet.x( Yet alot of people swear by them.
I can't wear the NB either because they really kill my feet, but I've heard of alot of people who loves them. I guess they are just not for me. P.S. Sheila thanks for that website on Freddy, wow what a great sale. I bookmark for future purchases;-)
I find it really depends on the activity. I love my Ryka's for step and hi/lo and all my other Cathe workouts - so basically those are my in-house shoes. But for running I have Nike's. Usually if I go workout at the gym I wear cross-trainers and my favorite cross-trainers are New Balance!
Hi Jo, you are right it does depend on what type of activity your doing. I have a pair of ryka's running shoes for running which I love. I also have nikes for running too which are great too.
Barbara,
I'm curious about your Ryka running shoes. None of the stores around here carry them and I've often wondered if they are as good as their aerobic shoes (which I think are absolutely the best!). What do you think? How do they compare to your Nike's?
