Shoes for wider foot?

Ladies,

What crosstrainer would you recommend for a wider foot? I've tried Ryka but they're too narrow. I do like Nike but the model I'm using is discontinued. I need a new shoe!! I think I'm a C width. Any advice?

I think New Balance carries wide sizes also. My friend uses the Ryka wide width and they work good for her but I know NB worked well for her also. You might check into those.

Another NewBalance vote. I have the 470's b/c the sides don't go out from all the lateral moves I do almost everyday! My first pair is still going strong after two years. I just got a new pair this month, same shoe. I have to get the men's shoe for width though but it doesn't bother me! I'm a 8 E I think in guys.

I have New Balance 1006. I think it is one of their top shoes. They come in wide width. I went to a New Balance store and had my feet measured since it has been years. One is actually a size different than the other. These were $109. so were pricey, but very comfortable. I have problems with needing a narrow heel and wide toes. I have found over the years Avia's are often made wider, and higher in the toe than other shoes.

Thanks Ladies!!

I'll definatly try the models you've suggested. I definatly need a shoe that can support the lateral moves like the ski/skater moves in some of the cardio workouts.

I do the Firm as well as Cathe and the other day I was doing MCB with the step and scoop move. Well, it's a lateral move and I felt my Nike totally blow out on the side. So it's time to bury these and get some new.

As everyone has suggested the NB, I'll try those out first. And again, thanks for offering model numbers. That makes it so much easier to shop!!

Right now I am am wearing New Balances-- wide width. In the past I have worn Avias with good luck, but I have tried a few more recent models and they did not seem as wide. I think Adidas runs a little wider also.
Nike and Ryka are both built for narrower feet in my opinion.

I also have New Balance 1006s in a wide size. I have average-width feet but find it a lot more comfortable to buy my workout shoes in wide. NBs offer great support and lots of styles from which to choose, and their crosstrainers are flexible enough for most cardio work.

I'd suggest having your feet measured at a running store. For cross trainers the only shoes I found were New Balance but they didn't help my high arches. I ended up going with a running shoe Acics Gel Nimbus.
