I am looking for new shoes that give better support, right now I am using New Balance crosstrainers but I am looking at some Ryka lseum shoes, are they better for support?

Hi Leslie,

I have the Iseum & don't find them to be all that "supportive." I have other Ryka's that I like much better. Unfortunately, I don't know the style--when I bought them I didn't know this would matter & now I can't find them anymore!

Try different shoes on & bounce around in them.

Oooh, the brand new Ryka aerobic shoes now are Ryka Rhythm's. Ryka Iseum are more cross trainers and are inferior to their aerobic shoes for Cathe training. I usually buy Ryka Stylus, but am going to get the new Rhythm's this week. I think they may have discontinued Stylus anyway.

Iseum does not have as much forefoot cushioning, and I noticed that they are much stiffer and take a long time to break in. They are comfy after that though...

For Cathe high impact though, aerobic shoes are the way to go!!!

I swear by K-Swiss. Right now the shoe I wear is called the Chilton. They also make other shoes that share the Chilton's features.

Firm lateral support, light weight, smooth soles perfect for pivoting on carpet, reasonable price (actually I got each pair a few days ago for 19.50!! I got 3 pairs! At Lady Foot Locker here in the Sun Valley Mall, Concord CA) and plenty of room for toes. Also, metal lace eyelets. I wear Superfeet orthotics in them for extra arch support.

Rykas are just made for feet that are unlike mine, so I can't "get into" them. ;)

I like the pair of Freddy aerobic shoes I bought in September. They seem to offer a lot of support. In general, I would go with aerobic shoes over cross trainers.

I haven't tried Ryka's. I usually use Nike or Reebok crosstrainers. Whatever Big 5 Sporting Goods has on sale. Have not had any support trouble. Although my usual cardio is running. Iprobably pay more attention to running shoes!...Carole

I have worn Ryka for about two years now, every time they come out with a new style I buy them. However, the last ones I've gotten kill my feet! I just bought a pair of Nikes because I just couldn't take the pain anymore. They put blisters on the bottoms of my right foot and it constantly itches. Since I've switched shoes, I haven't had this problem.

I just bought a pair a Ryka Combos and I really like them a lot. This is the first pair of Rykas I have owned. Usually I buy Nikes. I find the Rykas fit my feet better. They also offer a lot of lateral support. I am very pleased with these:)
