<---is overnighting a package of Christmas shopping manic phase to Melissa:p

-decorated the console table on the foyer using old berry picks, a candleholder set, and old, unused Christmas boxes and bows
-got a metal sleigh from Michael's for $10 and filled it up with extra Christmas balls
-got a $1.47 bow from Wal-Mart and a eucalyptus sprig from Michael's for $0.33; tied the eucalyptus to the bow (made five of these) and hung them on the narrow places between the windows in the family room; total cost: $9
-used old ugly tinsel as base for Christmas ball arrangement (these are old ornaments that are starting to tarnish in some places) for family room coffee table; arranged balls in such a way that flawed areas don't show
-made her own bows since the set of 12 at Garden Ridge cost $29.99; spent $12 on two 25-ft. spools; used these bows for garland on stairs and railing in game room
-used old tiny blue ornaments that didn't match Christmas tree scheme on lucky bamboo and philodendron in the family room
-spread out old picks (notice that a lot of my stuff is old) on top of hutch in formal dining room
-also used old picks in several arrangements in formal living and foyer
-bought a $5.99 garland and scrunched it up on windowsill; used old picks there as well
-got some $3 wreaths from Michael's and hung them on the doors
-also got some picks with Christmas balls at the ends (3 for $1) instead of the usual leaves and flowers (balls are made of styrofoam so they are light and easy to work with) and stuck those around pots and other places needing some sparkle
